International Day Against Homophobia, May 17, 2008

This year's International Day Against Homophobia is Saturday, May 17.  Originally developed as an event in Canada, this educational day is spreading as an annual event throughout the world (thank you Canada.) This year's theme is healthcare issues. Please visit their website for more information on the day and the activities taking place this year.  While the activities listed are based in Canada, reading about the work others are doing around the International Day Against Homophobia may spark an idea for an event your community can participarte in.

Materials for the day are also available on the website http://www.homophobiaday.org.

I was going to joke that we have several people here we could send in as real-life-candiates--but man I get so tired of this BS.

Sometimes I actually think to myself that no one is going to change the homophobes....and I think I'm right...it's the homophobes children & grandchildren we need to get a hold of.

The men and women who serve in our battlefields may be Democrats and Republicans and Independents, but they have fought together and bled together and some died together under the same proud flag.

They have not served a Red America or a Blue America they have served the United States of America.

Tomorrow is also Armed Forces Day.  But that might be a bit offensive to the politically correct folks.

    Just say NO to B.O.

For what reason?  People with minds don't get offended that two things are commemorated on the same day.
