    Phase 2 Flood Alert.......

Although this area is NOT prone to spring flooding, with 40+ feet of snow in the mountains and super fast warm up(it was in the mid 90's today)... we are in a Phase 2 Alert tonight... still a long way till I get my feet wet...but unreal... the river is SOOOO high....hard to think flood when all I want to do is find a cool place to hide!!!  and it is really tough to think long underwear to pack when I am trying to find something cool to wear!!!*LOL*

In the 90"s? Wow. Been in the 50's here. Unseasonly cool, and my legs are aching.

    stay safe!

Be safe AK!  All that water & heat should make for some giant bugs!  You can send some heat my way, I might even take a small amount of the water...but you keep the bugs!

Sue... I went out to fill the Kings pool and the crane flies must have hatched over night it is just bllig clouds of them coming out of the lawn...ICK.. and ANTS.. OMG I have never seen so many... bet there are skeeters tonight.... rivers are still rising, but I don't think it will be more than a few low roads under this time...we just never have floods this time of year....

You just hightail your tiny tail down here to ChicagoLand, AK.  Beautiful day today.  Mid 70s and a Glorious Breeze.  No Flood, no flies and no Cranes...unless you count those big construction things. Wink

Positive Thoughts and Prayers to you & yours,

    Krissy~~~

Last spring we were super wet.  We had to run TWO sump pumps to keep up with the water running in the basement.  (I have an  artesian spring that runs right into my basement via a clay pipe every spring).  This year I had no problems with one and it dried up long before it should have.  I'm afraid we're going to be dry.

We still have those damn little black flies though!

We have a young friend on the PCT this year... not my DD!  I sure hope the waters and bugs recede a bit before he gets there....  although he said there is still lots of snow in some of the higher elevations. Hope your warm weather melts that down!

Sue, I HATE the bugs!!!they used to spray for skeeters but haven't for many years.. once a week on Wednesday night they came thru at 10PM.. you always knew so you could be in and close the house up... and they would drive thru fogging the area for skeeters... wish they did that again!!

It has been so cold and wet here that the lawn still feels like a sponge to walk thru...even with the HOT dry weather...hopefully only another day or 2 of this and we will back to our normal 65-70 weather!!!

TM.... alot of it is under many feet of snow... if it ever all goes away this year... they still have probably 30 ft at Snoqualmie Pass...still skiing....the HOT is melting snow that is why the rivers are so high... but so much snow this year that it may not all melt off....

    Hi AK~

I just never really thought about all of the bugs there!  I did have a dear friend that moved to Wisconsin and she always complained about the sloppy muddy ground every Spring from all of the snow melting and how her kids would track in the muck and mire.  I can only imagine what's going on in your neck of the woods!

    Take care!
