Carrottop--did you get the letter explaining your refund? It showed how much you were due, how the amount was calculated.
I would think it would be worth contacting the number on the letter to ask that question. Last year, only my DH had income, we filed jointly, and the full 1200 was deposited in our checking account on the appropriate day, according to the original schedule. DD also got hers direct deposited on the day she was supposed to.
I immediately wrote myself a check for the full refund (dh knew I was doing it) and moved it from 'our' checking account, to one of 'mine'. He's thinking about retiring in about 2 years, and I've found the perfect little house for us. I've already put a deposit down, and will be buying it myself, out of my money, so we'll have it when he does retire (it will be our second home, at this point). The reason I posted all that? That $1200 will cover one month's mortgage payment for us, so it's going to come in very handy.
