Love your humor, wish I could think of stuff so spontaneously!Smile

I have done this though - entered a post too quickly.   Hope all are having a good weekend.

Don't know what she wanted to know about cherry pie filling but this is giving me a chance to practice a post in color.  Red for cherry pie filling.  Personally I like to use one can of Comstock or ThankYou (same company) regular pie filling and one can of lite or no sugar added.  Also add a teaspoon of almond extract to the mix.  Makes a great pie and not so sweet as two regular cans.

Why waste a good post?  Any more suggestions for cherry pies?

I do about the same thing, althought instead of no sugar filling I use a can of cherries and a can of cherry pie filling.  You're right, it isn't so sweet...and basically we are doing the same thing.  Cherry pie is my very favorite dessert!  Although, recently I've been on a kick making a pie called "bumbleberry."   Strawberries, blue berries, raspberries, plus a tart apple makes the filling.  It's yummy.  This is strawberry festival weekend in Southern Indiana.....supposed to be a good year for strawberries!

Speaking of cherry pie filling, my family just goes crazy over a crock pot dessert called Pear and Cherry Buckle ( i think that is what it is called). You can find the recipe on food network's website. It was on Sandra Lee's SemiHomemade. Let me know if you can't find it, I can always dig it out of my box.

    Re: cherry pie filling

I would love your recipe for cherry pie using home grown frozen cherries.  I have several bags of them and would like the proportions of sugar, cornstarch , & cherries you use for a 8 or 9 inch pie.  I have had them awhile and need to get them used up, almost time for this years.  I don't make pie as often as I used to since there is only 2 of us here now.  Thanks, anna
