I do not know why I can't get the link to work here. But if you cut and paste it into your browser, it should work.
I got a new CD and
was listening to it as I was working on editing some files. I began to
weep when I realized what the words were saying. So, I went on a search
and found this. Trust me! You have to see and hear this! Get your
kleenex box handy and be sure to turn up the volume!
On this
Memorial Day weekend, PLEASE SEND THIS to ALL the VETS and families you
know who have family members serving in the military!
Here's the link and I'll follow it with the story about the song and the lyrics!!

The award-winning vocal group Avalon has recorded “For Freedom,” in tribute to American soldiers past and present.
The
track is available through digital outlets as a single download or in a
3-song set that includes hits "We Will Stand" and "The Creed."
Songwriter
Matt Moran wrote "For Freedom" for his grandfather, a WW11 vet.He
recalls, "As a young kid, I loved to sit at my Grandma's feet and
listen to her memories . . . like so many others, she was forced to say
goodbye to the love of her life when he was sent off to fight in 1944.
I've always been struck by the courage of those men and women who
sacrifice so much for their country. It is no small thing to give up a
life that is relatively comfortable in exchange for something so
dangerous and completely foreign, not to mention having to say goodbye
indefinitely to those you love the most."
The members of Avalon
also struck by Moran's heartfelt song. Group co-founder Janna Long
says, "Freedom is truly a wonderful gift and privilege that we have all
been given at a tremendous price to others. I am humbled every time I
think of the thousands of (soldiers) who have given their lives so that
I might enjoy all the liberties given to me."
The song will be a
fitting listen for Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Veterans Day and
is available via iTunes, Napster, Sony Connect, and Rhapsody. Avalon is
now in the studio recording a hymns album scheduled for release this
fall and will be appearing at Women of Faith conferences throughout the
summer.
For Freedom Lyrics
Somewhere a trumpet sounds in the night
A soldier is standing there
It's calling him out to the stars and the stripes
It's calling him God knows where
He kisses the ones he loves goodbye
and leaves in the dead of night
For freedom he'll heed the call
Leave all he knows
And for freedom he'll stand and fight
And somewhere a man and wife
can't believe they're waving their girl goodbye
For gone are the days of pigtails and curls and candlelight lullabies
If they had their way she'd stay young forever
and never be far from home
But freedom has drawn her heart to danger's shore
And for freedom they'll let her go
And somewhere a thunderous crash in the night
It echoes all through the hills
Though many escape it's wrath and it's rage
A soldier lies wounded still
Remembering the land he loves, he cries
I've loved you with all my might
For freedom said I'm her son whatever comes (whatever comes)
And for freedom I'll say goodbye
And somewhere beneath the stars and the sky
Our flag is still standing there (she's still standing there)
She bled and she brought one land under God (under God)
Her colors still lead us there (it's still there)
She's carried the lives of those before us
She's buried the bold and brave
For freedom she holds our hopes and hands up high
And for freedom she'll ever wave
