    Baby doll cake

I was wondering if anyone had made a successful baby doll cake. I tried to make one last week but the cake just would not get done at the bottom until the cake at the top was already burnt. Does anyone have any suggestions on making it cook more evenly? I am trying to make one for my nieces birthday in a week. Thanks for your help.

Did you bake the cake in a pyrex bowl?  You can lower the oven rack one setting, and lower the temp. a little bit and cook a little longer.  That should help.  I've made several cakes in a pyrex bowl to decorate as footballs, Easter eggs, etc, and I have to always adjust the time, temp and position of the rack because it's so deep.

Use a smaller pyrex bowl and then bake the rest of the batter in a 6 inch round pan.Dog

Thank you for your suggestion. I did lower the temp quite a bit and let it cook quite a while longer and it turned out great! Thanks again.
