It's only a novelty...lighten up!  They're like funny slippers!  Personally, if I had a baby girl, I would dress up in vintage clothing and make something for her to match me and those baby shoes would be just the thing!  Imagine how she would laugh at the pictures when she got old enough to look at them.

I think it's very funny.  It's for laughs people, no need to over-analyze it.

""""The news people wanted to know why they invented something for a baby that would put them in a "sexualized" light."""

I just put that the NEWS people said all that.  I personally didn't think of the sexualizing.  I personally think they are a waste of money and not very pretty.  Reading your posts they do make me think of Miss Piggy now.

If I'm going to pay $35.00 for baby shoes they will definitely be functional first then appearance comes in after.

I just sent an inquiry to sell them wholesale in my shop.  I need cute gift ideas and people who like to dress up and who have baby girls would like these, I think.   They come in asking for all kinds of baby items.

http://www.heelarious.com/ The ladies who started this company were on a news program this morning and they were definitely put on the hot seat. The news people wanted to know why they invented something for a baby that would put them in a "sexualized" light.  They wanted them just to be a novelty and a keepsake "her first pair of high heels". At around $35.00 I'd rather get a functional shoe for my baby daughter then something that's just cutsey. They outgrow shoes so fast as it is.

If you would have mentioned at the start that those were crib shoes and only LOOKED like shoes nobody would have said anything about ruining children's feet.

I still think they look tacky.

trail mom I agree with you 100% as I am in the same boat as you and now I too have no cartilage in one knee and not much in the other, hip problems , a spur and a lump on the bottom middle of my foot. Needless to say no matter what when I stand or walk I have pain somewhere in at least one place or several. So if it were up to me there would be a law against high heels in general. They have crippled more people.

High heels are as appealing to me as a third boob....no matter what age. Even as a novelty crib shoe...blech.

    Re: High heels for babies......

Well, thank you for letting me know about these, because I'm going to carry these in my shop as a baby gift, along with mink teddy bears.  Mothers are always coming in asking for baby things....would you believe a black onesie with skulls and roses on it?  LOL  Not to mention black toddler wear too...so I think I could sell these as a novelty.  I have opened a wholesale account for my first order.

Not everything has to be practical, ya know!  For the practical baby gift, I always buy a Babycare Lambskin....hmmmm, maybe I should carry those too!

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks..I get a lot of neat ideas from some of you guys. Smile
