Re: 17 girls..pregnant at the same highschool in massachutes..

My recently-graduated daughter knew of plenty of girls who got pregnant in high school (they also have an on-site nursery -- employees can keep their kids there, too, but the schoolgirls have priority).  NOT to offend anyone on here who is a young grandmother, and yes, I would much rather life be chosen.  But you would be amazed that many girls, not all your not-too-bright ones, either, still believe that they won't get pregnant or that, in doing so, they guarantee their boyfriend will always stay with them.

The other part of that is that we have a county full of children whose grandmothers or great-grandmothers are raising the baby after they get through the dependent, cuddly stage, and it's a miracle if the teenage mom (who is NOT freed up like the daddy) finishes school or gets past a GED.

Although it's a lesson to get the "true-to-life" practice baby they have to take care of, they'd be better off being put in charge of a 2 year-old or a 4 year-old child.  That might make them think twice before either having sex or having it unprotected!

Has anyone bother to read the articles? Some of the men involved were in their early 20s' and the girls none older than 16. Ah, the stupidity of young girls today amazes me. With all they are taught they still act like babies are dolls not real helpless human beings.

    If had been anal, Duka, I doubt there wouldn't have been a pregnancy. . . . . . . .

Well, that is old age for you. You can't hear sounds that everyone else can hear and you can hear sounds that no one else can hear. Not really a bit problem until you begin to hear voices that no one else hears.

I wonder how many of these girls will take care of their babies when they find out they aren't like playing with dolls.  This is so sad that their lives were so unforfilled they have to get pregnant as children.   I too feel they and their parents should have to pay for this not not rely on the government to take care of them.   A lot of these girls have put themselves on a road to not finishing school and being on welfare.    And what about all the dads in this situation what will happen to them,  I am guessing nothing.   SAD

The way it sounds to me, a lot of these "dads" won't even know they're dads! These girls were on a mission...to get pregnant! They're asking if the police will go after the fathers because the girls are underage...well c'mon now! If a girl is bound and determined to get pregnant, no doubt she is "iniciating" sex! They're not telling the names of these boys/men because they don't WANT them involved!

They are involved whether they want to be or not. They want to go after them for statutory rape. Whether the girls got pregnant or not or initiated or not they were still underage.

So, if a 15 or 16 year old girl aho to all intents and purposes looks to be at least 18 or more, comes onto a guy, is he supposed to ask for  ID? They go to jail and the girls are blameless?!!

Re: 17 girls..pregnant at the same highschool in massachutes..

Mention made of the sires of said initiated pregnancies. Yes, if girls are 16 and under, Statutory rape charges can be brought against them. In these cases it is so difficult to lay this type of blame when the girls initiate, instigate with deliberate thought, to get pregnant. No the boys/ men involved are not without fault. You may want to term these girls as children but have you actually taken a good long look at the young girls today? Most look older(but no wiser) than their years...... Case in point, young girl 16 gets pregnant decides to put baby up for adoption(no help from family). So young man 19 decides to take responsibility for his actions(with help from his family)has never denied his part and files for custody of child. Does Judge take this as a sign of good faith? No. Young man goes to jail for statutory rape and child goes into the system. Young man is now on a national sex offenders list, college scholarship gone, child is in the system and young girl is off scott free now in college studying of all things, Law. Who is the winner here?

Someone asked if it was an abstinence only high school.  This morning on the news they said that at this school the girls are allowed to push strollers around the halls and bring their babies to school.  Also, the school nurses supplied all the pregnancy tests.  I am not sure if it was  an abstinence only school before the pregnancies happened, but the news reported that after so many became pregnant they were trying to get the school board to approve of giving out birth control at the school.

It's a really sad situation, and I hope none of the girls decide to drop out of school.

There is a day-care center at the school itself. Some faculty members bring there children there and some students also have their children there. This is offered in many schools as an incentive for those students to remain in school which is so important. I see nothing wrong with this. You can go round and round about the need for sex education, contraceptives offered in schools, etc. but it is about time that people recognize that this is nothing but making excuses for our childrens bad choices and behavior. These girls knew exactly what they were and are doing.

Sorry, forgot, this is not an abstinence only high school. No such animal exists no matter what you are told. An impossibility when it comes to teenagers nowadays...............Oh, and it is spelled Massachusetts. LOL
