Just checking in to say hello.  Only crocheting I got done ths week was a few rounds on a baby blanket.  trying to clean and organize the computer/craft room today and then punch holes in fleece blankets to add a border.  usually I punch as I go- one blanket at a time, but may have DD help and get all the fleece I have done at once.  also want to get the sewing machine out, having so much fun with the bread machine, will branch out to another machine.  This summer is the first time in 19 years that neither DD or I are in school or running to sports camps etc. and both only working one job.   So time to discover new activites and get the house and garden whipped into shape.

Waving good morning to all   :)    Been splitting my free time between reading and working on a little sunny yellow cardigan.    I couldn't bear to look at my UFO any longer, picked it up and started to do a few rows, then realized that halfway back some of the stitches I picked up were twisted.   That did it, I frogged it all and wound the yarn back up into balls   :)

Marcia, congrats on the new little one, isn't she adorable!     :)

Wishing everyone a good day, bright and sunny here, hoping to get over to the U pick and get some strawberries!

Woo Hoo!  One mitten done, and one to go!  I have visions of two different sizes - but it's my first attempt (not counting rip-outs)

    Happy Sunday!

    HI Everyone

Here's the afghan I promisted to show off.

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/yarnhooker/?saved=1

My sister said they both loved their afghans and Robert kept saying he liked the stitching on his whatever he meant by that.  Elsie wondered how I knew her favorite colors and didn't give Sherry time to tell her she told me.  Robert liked the colors in his but was more excited over the stitching LOL.  I guess because it's reversable and he doesn't have to worry about which is the right side.  They are both in their 80's.

I'm still working on the wall hanging had to go get more thread for it.  And knitting a soft green baby afghan from Debbie MacComber's site called Baby Blocks.

3 puppies have new homes and we are keeping the other 2 because we both like different ones best.

    Hi Everyone

Made it to Minneapolis for wedding and back. Fancy hotel. It was quite fancy. Everything was the Crown Plaza in downtown Minneapolis. Wedding was on 8th floor outdoor garden. Reception on 7th floor. My room was on 10th floor. Had to remember all that stuff. Glad to be back home to the simple life though.

Margaret afghans are goregeous. And I probably wouldn't have been able to part with any puppies. So glad you got to keep two anyway. They were adorable.

Jolene sorry about your UFO project being scrapped. That is frustrating.

Marcia glad you are getting holding time in with those grandchildren. Nothing beats it. They sure don't stay little for long.

Started a baby sweater for a friend having a baby in August. Thought I better not wait until last minute.

Have a goo day all. Jeanette

     Margaret, the afghans ARE beautiful!!!

Jeanette, glad that you had a good and safe trip.  It is always nice to get away but home feels so good too, doesn't it?

Well, I am sewing.  There is a shower for Sterling Sunday.  I am not sure if I can make the trip over but am making burp clothes and a couple blankets for him and am HOPING to get an outfit crocheted.. but not sure what will get done!  lol.. lofty ideas!!  I found some cute fabric with a dog and wordage about with the dog named Spot!  lol.. so I got enough to make a blanket for both Sterling and Kayden with some burp clothes and will give them to the babies from our dog Spot!  The older grands will get a kick out of that.  :)

Waving a hi to all our little group!!!!

Hello everyone. I only stop in here once in awhile.  But i wanted to say Kathie, what a gorgeous afghan Mary made. I love the colors and pattern.

croknit, maybe Robert was excited about how close the stitching was. I don't knit, but i have seen some stitching that has big hole's and small holes. And if Robert & Elsie are both in their 80's, the closer stitch to them would be warmer. Just a Thought.

Hope everyone has a Grand Day!

    Re: ::: YARN CRAFTERS CHAT ::: 22nd - 28th of JUNE

    HI Everyone

Thanks for the compliments on the afghans.  Brenda I agree with you that older people like the closer stitches best and I also try to make them as lightweight as I can so they won't have trouble using them.  Though I confess I had a hard time deciding on a pattern for Elsie though she's real easy to please according to my sister.  I tried 3 different ones before settling on that one.  Robert's didn't give me any trouble deciding I just picked a stitch that would be reversible so he wouldn't have to remember which side was the right side and then picked out colors my sister said he would like.

I just like 30  more rows on my wall hanging.  Went to get more thread for it and was planning to buy 6 spools but they only had 4.  So next trip to another WM this weekend to get the other 2 I think I might need.  Put the baby afghan aside until I get the circular knitting needles I ordered Sunday night they are supposed to be on the way.  I ordered sizes 1 through 9 in the 29 inch length.

Jolene I feel for you on that UFO maybe when you try it again later on it will work out smoothly.

Kathie I love the colors Mary used in her afghan.

Well I'm off of here you all have a great day.

Margaret: those afghans are sooo nice.   I like both patterns you used!  DD is going to try out the reversible pattern........

Gabby:    Hello Brenda!   I started a star preemie blanket but haven't gone back to it; should get it finished up!  pink/white/ blue    Mary likes the colors that can be used for either boy or girl.
