    Patriotic Trifle

“Everyone will ooh and aah when you bring this pretty, patriotic trifle out,“ promises Sandra Brown from Independence, Iowa. But don‘t forget to include one tiny American flag for each child in your group—unless you want to see some real fireworks!

I've made this twice and both events that I took this to, the people loved it. It's so quick & easy to make as long as you remember to get your jello going several hours before you need to make the trifle. I would highly recommend this recipe.

    Hi,

Since we have a diabetic in the family I'm always looking at ways to change the recipe to suit us.

I would use sugar free jello (at least strawberry - I'm not sure if they have sf berry blue). Low to no-fat milk, sf instant vanilla pudding and "whipped topping" FREE!

I have had all the changes I am suggesting at different times and they taste very good. This should be delightful even with my changes!

    Thanks for the recipe.

This dessert was the hit of our July 4th cookout. There were even people taking pictures of it! I used sugar free strawberry jello (no, there is currently no s/f blue jello) and pudding, 1% milk, and lite whipped topping. There was none left as everyone took home the little bit that was leftover from dinner!
