    Depression Support - July 2008

It seems as if y'all are still posting to the June thread, so here's the July one.

Sorry I haven't been here for a few days.  I was out of town most of the day yesterday and then helped (I don't really think they'd agree) her and her husband buy a new truck.  They're getting a brand new Chevy Silverado Texas version, and it's really nice.  Then I spent the evening over there.

Today I've been running errands.  I begged off work because I have yet ANOTHER bladder infection and I know I'd have to take a zillion bathroom breaks in just 5 hours.  I have tomorrow and Thursday off, so I should be feeling better by Friday when my next shift starts.  Luckily I had an appointment with my primary care doctor and he gave me antibiotics.  He also gave me some cream to put on my spot of squamous cell carcinoma on my hand.  He says that if in 6 weeks it still hasn't gone away he'll have to cut it out surgically.

So what's going on in your neighborhood today?

PLL, I posted on the June thread because I wasn't thinking about what the heck I was doing.Tongue Tied

Jenni and Punkin did it, too. LOL

I am sorry you have a bladder infection.  Hope it clears up ASAP.   Take care and get better while you have some days off.

wow- July already...half way thru the year!

Pll- not another infection?  That's the pits.

Nothing big going on today- I did all of my floors this morning- and some dusting.  I got to see GS today, and will have him at the office tommorrow.

Ok- now I will go back to the June thread and catch up- then get back on here.

    OK....I am caught up now-

Punkin...looked like you had learned a new language on a couple of those pages.

Anyone doing anything special for the 4th?  Our family is going to DD#1's house... we can't legally buy fireworks here in So. Calif with all of our fire danger- but several towns will put on a display.

Yup, another bladder infection.  I just got off the phone with my urologist's office and I have an appointment for next Monday.  It's only been a month, and I have another.  Last time I saw him he talked about giving me low doses of antibiotics long-term.  We'll see what he wants to do this time.  At this point I don't really care what he does; just get rid of the problem!

Kallee, thanks for the pictures of your grandbaby.  He's adorable!

Pll- see if he can hook you up on an IV of constant cranberry juice!  You know, actually- I saw cranberry tablet suplements at the health food store for that type of thing...maybe see if they do anything ....can't do any harm.

Thanks for tattling on me Jo! LOL Yes, I posted on the June thread.

Have any of you tried the product that sharpens the replacement heads of razors? There is an ad on tv for it here. Walgreens carries them and they're only $10 but I would rather hear from someone that has used it before I buy it. Paying nearly $6 for 4 replacement heads for my Schick razor. That's robbery.

I'm waiting on the ribs for dinner. We're having Pork featherbones, fried potatoes (well, Bubba is) and steamed fresh broccoli. Do you remember featherbone ribs from Nebraska, Kallee?

I'm going to call Leora tonight. I'm concerned that we haven't heard from her.

    Good Wednesday morning everyone.

I don't have much going on today.  Judy is going to color my hair; I've already bought the color.  I got a haircut yesterday so it should be pretty easy.

I went to Abilene with Judy the other day and we goofed around for a little while after her doctor's  appointment.   Went to Target and Stein Mart, where I'd never been before.  We don't have one down here.  We ate at Red Robin again. I wish we had one here but I'd be in there all the time and woud probably gain a zillion pounds!

I do (kinda) know another language, but that one wadn't it. LOL   Mine is a lot easier to read Confused

Well, for cryin' loud out, JoMom, did ya hafta go and embarrass the rest of us, too? Sheesh! LOL Stick out tongue Wink

     So, any news on Leora?

I haven't bin real good about keepin' up lately. I think my brain's bin going on Brain-Strain vacation or something. Seems like it's been zoning out a lot lately. It's still there, I think, but It's avoiding me (or at least trying to).. or I been avoiding it (which is probably more the case.

Well, I do have to run to Sprout's now. This time I don't have what my kiddo needs for dinner. And I'm gonna cheat and buy myself a nice, big Golden Spoon frozen yogurt while I am out. That is one of the few stores that I can myself to get in and out of by myself.

PLL, I am so sorry that you have yet another infection. My daughter's best friend has constant, recurring Urinary Tract infections and it is a real problem. Her doctor finally put her on some high dose of something for a month, and it worked for a while but she still has them again.

Could your body be allergic/sensitive to something (clothing, food, etc.) that is causing you to be so susceptible to these blasted infections? I know it may sound really stupid, and it a seperate and different thing but, is there a possibility that your cycle has anything to do with it? I used to get constant yeast infections when I had mine; I also got them when Drs put me on any med at 500 mg. Is you cylce a possibility of the cause? (I don't know where anyone is as far as 'life' goes).

Well, I better git to Sprout's.... my yogurt calls and I have to do my shopping first, or I'll be doing it this afternoon, an hour before my daughter is supposed to be making dinner... my usual stunt.

I so sowwy, Punkin. Embarrassed   I didn't want to take all the blame myself.  I thought I would spread it around.

Just so you know, I am green with envy reading about that delicious yogurt you are going to have.   I am an ice cream freak and yogurt ain't bad, either.

Hi, Jenni, dear.  Hope you are having a good day.

Kallee, hun, what's cookin' at your house?  Think I will fix DH a steak (that man could live on beef) some steamed veggies and garlic bread.

PLL, I sure hope you get some relief soon from that infection.

I am wondering about Leora, too.  Thinking of you all.

    Jo

Re: Depression Support - July 2008

     Good Afternoon Everyone...

I just called Leora's and left a message. Please make sure someone on this post has your phone number so that we can call and check on you if you are MIA. This happened to a friend on another board and we couldn't get in contact with her family. She had been hospitalized with an anuerysm.

I cleaned my living room and dining room yesterday. Yes, I'm beat today but it's nice to look at a clean house.

I hope things are going well for Jeanne on her trip. Please check in Jeanne.

Meredith, Do you use fabric softener dryer sheets? I've known two people that eliminated UTI infections by not using them. Carbonated drinks will cause them too. I'm sorry that you're dealing with another.

PP, Send your daughter over here on her nights off making dinner. I'll buy any ingredients she needs. We would love to have her. You can come too! Heck bring the whole family!!!

Cheryl, Nice of you to drop in. Yes, I did try to IM you. You must be one busy lady!! XOXOXO

Hi Jo! I'm having a good day. I've decided they will all be good days regardless of how I'm feeling.  Fake it til you make it, ya know?

I need to get up out of this chair or I'll hurt worse.

    Kallee...where are you???????
