    ****PCH KITCHEN**** July, 2008.........Welcome

    WELCOME TO THE PCH KITCHEN

Good morning, so good to see you. We hope you'll find the warmth and the friendship here that we have been privileged to enjoy. We have a common bond. We are physically challenged homemakers.

We share affection for one another through compassion, honesty, and most importantly, respect for one another and one another's situations.

We gather here to share information on ways to make our lives easier, to offer support to each other and to share humor and laughter, sometimes tears and always good food.

There is always room in the kitchen for all who would like to join in...So help yourself to a cup of coffee, cocoa, tea or fruit juice. There are always fresh fruit , muffins, coffee cake and cookies....pull up a chair at the old country table and visit awhile.....and remember to tell a friend.

For our old friends that have not been by for awhile, we hope you will drop in and let us know how you are doing.

OUR DOOR IS ALWAYS OPENBig Smile

Blessed are those that can give without remembering and take without forgetting.

Good days ladies, sorry about being so late today.  Could not get them to accept my password and was not about to change. *smile*

Thank you Ruth for the PCH siggy for July.  Do hope that you girls have a wonderful time on your little trip and come back home to us all refreshed, safe and sound.

Here are the two posts for July that I found on the June thread.  Hope you girls don't mind my bringing them up..................will be back in a bit to visit more.

    Hi Girls,

Connie, the plane crash I was talking about was at Mt.Charleston in Las Vegas, my DBIL and his family live on that mountain. The one with the helicopters colliding was in Tempe, Az. So very sad for all of those who perished. Sounds like Kerry will have alot of time to get some honey-do's done for you and to get you ready for winter. We have a monitor heater and also a wood stove for heat. We will be replacing the wood stove we have for one that is more efficient. The one we have now burns hot and goes out within a few hours. They have I think they call them convection wood stoves where they get loaded up and will burn for 24-40 hours and they maintain an even temperature.

Ruth, hope you have a good time in Branson with Rose and her family. Have lots of fun.

Well Jim did get to come home last night. Got home after 9:30 p.m. and had to leave this morning before 6 a.m. At least I got to see him for a little bit, he said to me bet it doesn't even feel as if I have been home at all. I told him I was happy to see him even if only for a few hours. The Siskiyou Complex as they are calling it has burned over 8,000 acres and say that it will take months to put out. There are many other smaller fires right in our area as well. Going to dinner tonight with Ted and Tera over to a friends that Jim and Ted have worked with. It will be nice, they are good people for sure. Not sure what I will be doing today. Right now thinking about getting back into bed for a little bit, got up with Jim this morning and still very tired. Hope everyone is doing well and those who are feeling poorly feel better soon. TTL Ann

Good morning Ann and all who grace the room today, I just got off the phone today, talking to Dee, she is still battling no feeling well and I spoke to Cupcake last evening also, definite prayers for all our MIA’s. I sure hope everyone has as good a day as they possibly can, but I hope each of you know you all are in my prayers as well as praying for our emergency workers and our Troops, God Bless you one and all. So many plates are runneth over these days it seems. I need to get out and mow some today, not the whole thing, but the fruit tree area and have to vac out the pool, I think that is going to get done early this morning, so I had better get to it. SYL, Hugs, Connie

Ohhh good grief Nancy LOL. I forgot all about a new month, I was trying to figure out the date while looking at Ann's post this morning and making myself believe that tomorrow was a new month LOL. Then I saw your post and my mouth dropped open LOL. You can probably tell I am just not with it or in denial that July is already here? hehe, Thanks for starting the new thread Nancy, love the siggy, and thanks for bringing Ann and I into the correct loop. *grin* SYL, Connie

Well I am back, just had to take a short break from the putter.

Ann sure hope that you got the chance to go back to bed and finish your night this morning. Know that you want to be wide awake this evening to visit with friends. Now you have a good time this evening. Great that Jim did get to come home even if it was a short time. Just to see him and to know for sure he is ok just has too give you some comfort when he is fighting those fires. God bless him and all of the fellows out there working so hard to protect others.

Connie sure hope that you did not get too pooped out with all of that mowing today. Now you take it easy hon, we sure don't want you getting too much heat. It can really get to you this time of the year without you realizing it sometimes.

Thank you for updateing us when you hear from Dee and Helen. Prayers are going out to both of our sweet friends.

Well I have been under the weather myself for the past couple of days. Thought yesterday Bill was going to have to call ems but finely come out of it. Was haveing a heck of a time breathing and the temp. was knocking on 100º. Do feel some better today and the temp is down. Can't get in to see doctor until later in the week. They will let me know when there is a opening............my gals, isn't it the pits when we are feeling puny.*grin*

Just peeked in before closeing and see you are in the neighboorhood Connie. Glad you found the new July post, kinda thought the time had gotten away from you. :>) I found the new graphic in my email from Ruth , she was real sweet and sent it since she was going to be gone......So thank you Ruth.

Forgive me girls for not addressing everyone. Will try to do better later on. But do know that all of you are in my prayers and think about each of you often.

Got to run for now but just remember that you all are very "Special"

Thank you Holly and John for my new Snoopy. :>)

ISO:  The month of June:  Did anybody see it fly by? Somehow I missed most of it. Before we know it, it will be Christmas.

I did somerthing to my ring fionger on my left hand. Feels like I sprained it, can't bend it without a lot of pain especially the knuckle so this will be short....pecking instead of typing.

The boy down the road came today and finished weed wacking on the hillside where Duane has dificulty keeping his balance. Was worth every penny to have him do it. He stayed to dinner and he and Duane went fishing again this evening.

Have finally received a tracking number for our engine shipment. Will call the freight co. in the morning and see if it is the truth or not. Better be or will report fraud to the credit card company.

Speaking of credit cards I called Capital One yesterday and asked them to lower our rate and they did, from 14.9 to 8.9%. We always pay off our balance every month but you never know when an emergency will come up and we can't do that. So call yours and see what they say.

Gonna go soak my finger in epsom salts. Hope Deery is doing o.k. and all the others, too, who are awol today.

    Liz

Nancy good to see you peeking in again and letting us know you have been under the weather too, gosh so often I think and wonder if you are ok, or just taking a break, but more often than not you have trouble breathing cause of those darned high temps lady. It has been a bit cooler here and I had high hopes you were a bit cooler as well, you be sure to just sit back and take it easy Nancy, we miss you when you don't post, but your health is more important. Keeping all you ladies and your families in my prayers. I got hot the other day Nancy, headache, cold sweats and knew I needed to get water and cooled off, so I quit that day of mowing. Well I see Kerry has got his tractor fixed and coming into the house, work, work work. Have a good nights sleep everyone. SYT, Hugs, Connie

Hi Gals, I am okay. Just haven't felt like dealing with Internet Explorer. Weather has been great and I have been having my lunch outside. Squirrel watched me today but wouldn't come out of tree. Think it wanted me to leave so it could go to bird feeders. Ha! Well tomorrow fasting and Thursday they moved appointment up to 9 am. So we will have to leave about 7:30 am because of commute traffic. So will be scarce for few days. Unless I get some more energy from somewhere. Anyone got some to spare?

Prayers for PCH Family. May God Bless our Troops and Emergency Workers.

    Hugs All Around, Deery

Good morning ladies, hope you all wake feeling better, Deery hope you get to enjoy some sunshine again today and your little squirrel friend is out. *grin* Looking to get into the bird feeders huh? How cute, but they can be pesky things can’t they. Liz hope your finger gets well soon, but what in the world did you do it it woman? Nancy I sure hope your weather is cooler today and you are feeling better, but take it wasy. Today is cleaning day for Dee, and hope that Helen has some positive news when she goes to her Drs this month as well. Got a email from Marie and Sara now has diploma in hand after much ado, Marie having to go to the school. Prayers that her new start in college goes much better. Marie is supposed to be taking things easier, lets see if she does. *smile* Busy people. Ann prayers that Jim is well and the emergency workers are making progress and prayers for their safety. Have a good time getting together with friends. Ruth enjoy your trip to Branson with your friends as well. Holly hope you and your John are having a good week. I hate to name names ladies as my find forgets so much of the time, it is a blonde mind at that filled with to much business these days. LOL. Already the 2nd of July, and Liz I have to agree with you totally, where did June go, this year already is ½ over. Not sure exactly what I will be doing today, run to Wal Mart for Kerry and I need to do laundry. Any volunteers for the latter part? Kerry got his tractor going last night after changing fuel filter and taking fuel lines off and blowing them out and letting some of diesel fuel out of the tank, yuck in the bottom. We are paying high prices for the fuel and seeing what kind of mess that is in some of it. We got a email about filling with gasoline a while back, about filling in the morning before the heat expands the gas, before the temps go up and expand it and you don’t get a true amount of gas. Don’t fill when a gas tanker is filling the tanks at the station, it stirs the crud that is in the bottom, so we fill in the mornings whenever possible. When do the rest of you put gas in your vehicles? Is anyone cooking anything yummy these days? Deery are you going to have a wrap when you go to the doctors? *smile* Or Sherry’s maybe? Well I need to get busy and also check my emails, have a good day and take care. Hugs, Connie

Good afternoon ladies, just making a fast trip through the kitchen to wish you well tomorrow Deery with your colonoscopy. Know you will be happy when its done and over with. Prayers that the results will be good for you.

Connie sure glad that Kerry got his tractor up and running himself. Those fuel lines can sure get stopped up easy. Bill use to have to do his and his was just one of the little tractor mowers.......must have received the same email on filling the tanks of our cars in the morning. Does sound reasonable doesn't it. Did you get the one on checking the pumps to make sure you are getting the amount of gas you are charged for? You pump $10 worth of fuel and say the gas is $3.90 per gal, then you should have received 3.9 gals. They claim there are lots of stations with pumps that are not right.

We did get a small shower today and hopeing that the clowds showing on the radar makes it here too. Could sure use it.

Was able to get appointment with lady doctor for tomorrow at 4:30. Sure hope she can come up with what is causing all of this pain........had to laugh at myself today when mentioning to Bill I am getting around like a little old lady. **giggle** Of course he did have to mention that we are not young chickens anymore. *sigh*

Buzzer is going off on the dryer so need to run for now.........ok maybe not run. LOL

Do hope that Dee's trip to the cleaners goes well today and our little Helen will be getting good news from her doctor.

Prayers for all of our ladies, emergency workers and our troops

    Gentle hugs,

    Nancy

Hi Gals, I will tell you more then you want to hear. I am getting a break from drinking the preperation. Almost got the first bottle down and threw up half of it. DH has to go out and buy more prep and nurse said 2 antinausea pills. Sure hope they work.

Wishing all a good night of sleep and good day tomorrow.

Deery I sure hate to hear you got rid of 1/2 the bottle of stuff after you got it part way down I guess? Yuck, you poor lady, having to take that prep stuff, that is the nastiest thing to have to do to get ready for those dog gone tests, that about kills you in itself doesn't it? I did giggle though Deery, remembering myself getting ready for the same procedure and telling Kerry I was gonna be sick, gonna be sick, I jus t could not take any more of it and Kerry made me finish, but ohhhh how sick a person gets! Did the antinausea pill help Deery? I hope this is all you have to do to get ready for this and no more then, hope all goes well when you have the tests done tomorrow. Kerry and I have been working our bootys off this evening, I was mowing around the trees, he was bush hogging and then I got out the pump sprayer and mixing up 3 gallons at a time, made a total of 15 gallons of brush and weed spray. Then Kerry pushed a tree down with the tractor and put it on the burn pile with the tractor and started it burning at almost 9:30 and started into the house and saw something out in the yard, it was a armadillo, so he got his flash light and 22 rifle and was able to kill it. He will be hitting the shower, we both got in the pool earlier, but he went back to work and I took him back a bowl of watermelon, now this gal is heading to bed. Sleep well. SYT, Hugs, Connie

I am back, very tired and again in a bad fibro flare that started on Tuesday afternoon we was at Sliver Dollar City when it hit, it did slow me down but did not stop me. we went to see the new movie Wall-E

it is a Disney movie and really funny, we seen it at the Imax theater, went back to Silver Dollar City again yesterday morning Issac Rose's DGS wanted to ride a couple  of the rides he did not get to ride on Tuesday. this trip was for him, so we tried to do things he wanted to do . we did not do anything else there, we went to Springfield and done some shopping there.I got some books to read

Recipes and Wooden Spoons by Judy Baer,  and two books by my favorite Christan writer Terri Blackstock. I have been reading her books for the last several years this time I got Dawn's light  and the other one by her,  Covenant Child. so these books should keep me home and doing nothing for awhile. ( ya right, lol)  that was a thought anyway I did get a cook book to Charleston Receipts  from the Junior League Of Charleston South Carolina. have not had a chance to look at any of them yet .

Well I am going to get off here for now and rest for a while and will try to get back later on, but if not today I will stop by in the morning.

hope everyone is ok i will go back and read up on ya all when I come back.

Good evening ladies, hope everyone has a safe and Happy 4th of July!!  Ruth glad to see you made is back home safe and sound, read there are to be lots of travelers on the roads this weekend. Kerry and I will be staying home or should I say close to home. Ann enjoy your time with Jim. Kerry and I left this morning early and I had recruited him to help me pick blueberrys, we  picked 9 gallons of berries in two hours time and home before it got to hot. Busy busy, he napped some this afternoon, I tried but could not. So………………….. Hope you all have had good weather today, clouded over and wondered if you may have gotten showers Nancy? Deery were you able to get out into the sunshine? While picking berries this morning, the song birds in the trees were heralding us with their beautiful songs. While Kerry has been deployed on many occasions he could hear the birds singing and singing in the back trees if it was song birds. Well time for me to get busy with the berries, have a enjoyable weekend everyone. Prayers for our Troops and emergency workers and may the true meaning of the Fourth of July be remembered. Connie
