She should have stopped, and I can understand people running after here to stop her. But they didn't need to start beating here. Our family is still going thru the pain of dogs being hit by a car. I wrote about here earlier, in May. My brothers two furbabies, two Brittneys, got away while he had them out in the country hunting birds. They were his best pals. A man and his hunting dogs share a very special bond. He always had put tracking collars on them, but didn't do it that day. They took off after a deer, and got lost . He stayed there all night in his car, and looking for them. Two days later he got a call from a vet who said someong found his dogs on the side of a busy highway - one was already dead, one was barely alive. Bless their hearts, the couple picked up the dogs, put the dead one on their back seat, and the lady held the other one in the front seat. She (Toby) died with her head on the lady's lap. They took them to the vet, who called my brother. I have never thought to stop when I have seen dogs on the side of the road, but now, I just may. He would have never know what happened to his babies if they had not stopped and tried to help them. It was a tragic accident. He is still suffering from their loss. But many times you wonder why dogs are allowed to roam free, or not watched. sometimes they just scoot out the door, or break loose somehow. Many times people are just careless with their pets. I probably would have at least dragged the lady out of her car and screamed at her for driving away. Hope she learned her lesson.
