    Friday: What's Cookin' (July 4, 08)(6:22 a.m.) HAPPY 4th of JULY

    Good Morning,

Do you all have all kinds of plans for today?

    We plan on hibernating.

Both of us don't like the noise, crowds and heat.  We stay indoors.

Lunch will be charcoaled johnsonville brauts (saurkraut on Jim's) and chips and french onion dip.

We didn't have our bacon and tomato sandwich yesterday so we'll have it for supper.

It's to get around 90 today.  Really not that bad for this time of year.

Have a Happy and SAFE 4th of July

    Enjoy this beautiful day.

    LIVING FREE

Freedom is beautiful. It provides a space within which the most magnificent dreams can be fulfilled. Freedom is also demanding. Because true freedom cannot exist without vigilant responsibility.

Freedom does not release you from being accountable to life. Freedom enables you to give your own special value to the world in which you live.

Living free means accepting and embracing full responsibility for your own life, and for the things that touch your life. It is responsibility that gives freedom its value and keeps freedom alive.

The sweetest fruits of freedom are tasted by those who consistently act with responsibility and integrity. Successfully living free means living with positive purpose, with love, compassion and respect.

Freedom greatly expands life's possibilities and opportunities. It is well worth all the effort and commitment required.

    CELEBRATE FREEDOM

Freedom is the great enabler of opportunity. When you are free to act in accordance with your most treasured values and interests, anything you can imagine is possible.

Essential to freedom is responsibility. It is by accepting and exercising full responsibility over every aspect of your life that you become truly free to live and fulfill your own unique vision.

Freedom carries with it great power. Responsibility keeps that power focused in a positive and productive direction.

Freedom, lovingly tempered with responsibility, has produced many great and wonderful things. Even more wonderful is the fact that freedom's best rewards are yet to come.

For in freedom there is endless promise. With freedom, the possibilities for goodness and fulfillment are always growing more abundant.

Celebrate freedom and, more importantly, creatively put it to good use in your own special way. With your life, uncover and bring to life some of freedom's treasures that have never been seen before.

Peeking in to say good morning   :)    Raining here, may clear off later in time for the fireworks, Jake is really looking foward to them.     I'm also making Johnsonville brats for the first time today, Tim loves the "beer hot tub" commercials on tv, the brats with onions/butter etc.   So I'll give it a try!    We'll also have corn on the cob and if it stays cool I'll make chocolate chip cookies    :)

Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday weekend!

We are at home all day too. Didn't go camping so will stay cool here. Your menu sounds like mine brats and BLT for sure. Easy food day! Plan on going to Walmart today or tomorrow.

Have some flower beds to work on in cooler a.m. but will be slow days washing and cleaning.

    Everyone enjoy the 4th

Eyes popped open at four AM. Mind began racing. Could not find the turn off switch. Plumping pillow, changing positions, pounding pillow, flopping around like a fish on a hook. "The heck with this", I thought as I wearily sat up and slipped my feet into my flip flops. Turned on the coffee pot and strolled out into the cool night. A few stars sparkled in the spots not covered by the splotchy layer of clouds.

No particular plans for this day.

Hope everyone has a safe, fun-filled holiday!!

I'm kinda in the mood to bake something.  Don't know if I will or not, but I just might.

I've heard of doing brauts that way but have never done it.

Good Luck at Wal-Mart.  I bet it's past busy in there today.  Hoping to avoid that place at all cost today.

I slept a good part of the night in my chair.  I woke myself up, my wheezing woke me up.

My allergies or whatever this is, is worse than it's ever been.

I may try to lay back down in a bit.

I'm watering the backyard right now and then think I'll lay back down.

    Mornin' all.

Happy 4th of July to all of you south of the border.

It's bright and sunny here this morning and looks like it may stay that way for the w/e which would be great.  Other than some housework and a trip to the bank, no plans for the day, - we'll take it as it comes.   Supper - no idea, haven't even had breakfast yet.

    Have a great day.

    Good Morning and HAPPY 4th

SIL and I are going to visit my brother in nursing home and then we're going shopping for curtains and eat out. The plans now going to small town Mt. Sterling but thinking will end up in Lexington Ky, more choices and better places to eat.

Guess I'm going by myself to see the fireworks as SIL doesn't like them.

    Have a safe day...diana

    Good morning CK and others--

Got a surprise call at 2AM from the person scheduled to work today saying that he was too sick to come in this morning (and my suspicious mind says Ya right!) so I am here at work----feel guilty now because he is in our emergency room with probably appendicitis---

Anyway, am just having my DB, his wife and daughter for lunch or dinner, whichever I get out of here in time to make.

I made the chocolate dipped, cheesecake stuffed strawberries last night------oh my, are they ever good.

Hope everyone has a safe and pleasant holiday-

Good Morning, can tell by the flag stones on the walk way that it rained a bit over night, its just 7AM so its still over cast and cool, don't think it will be convertable weather today. We're leaving about 9:30 or 10 for the 2+ hour  drive to my DDs beach house in Long Beach Washington, She said don't bring a thing, I have it all covered, it seems strange not to be cooking for the 4th, but truthfully kinda nice.

Enjoy your day, I'm looking forward to seeing all my family, and enjoying lots of good food. J udy

Happy 4th of July everyone. It’s a lovely morning here, the sun is out and the birds are chirping their little hearts out. We have some wild green parakeets that travel in packs and like to sit in the palm trees, especially the one behind my fish pond and oh do they like to chatter sometimes. One time I said to my little granddaughter when she was about 3 or 4 years old, “Ashlie, do you hear that” thinking it was so annoying and in her beautiful little spirit she said “yes Nana…Isn’t it beautiful”? Talk about a reality check. It took a little child to make me appreciate the beauty in the song of the birds. It goes to show you that you CAN learn something new each day if you keep your ears and eyes open and it can come from the least expected source.

Sorry about going off on a trip into my minds eye and taking you along, lol. Today my sons and their family’s are going to my nephews house for a pool party with their family and B-B-Q and fireworks after dark, I can hardly wait.
I was requested to bring the “Luby’s Cafeteria Spaghetti Salad” (posted here by Redraspberrygirl with my tweeks) so I made that last night so I could play computer this morning for a bit. I hope everyone has a safe, happy and blessed 4th of July.
(And I hope this post goes through on the first try, Amen…)

    ~Jan~
