Good morning to all the Grannies!  HAPPY 4th OF JULY  !!!!!!!!!!!!

Coffee is finished, and I have set out a big basket of assorted muffins, Cranberry Orange, Cinn. Raisin, Double Chocolate, Cinn. Struesel, and Bran with Raisins.  Also fixed a large bowl of melon. Have Hot Tea and OJ for those who would like them.  Help yourself and sit a spell!!!!

Nothing big going on here today. Going to the hairdresser later, and then will come home to do the usual. May eat lunch out as usual on Friday. Hope everyone has a nice 4th and please----don't handle the fireworks.     BBL

Good morning!  Hope everyone is having a star spangled day.  I've been putzing around.  DH just left so now I guess is time to get busy with my baking and making.  I want to enjoy the weekend without having to worry about having to get home and preparing for the next day.  Of course we are to have rain.  Just hope that Sunday's rain holds off till very late afternoon.  Saturdays picnic will be under cover, but I'll hope the rain holds off for that one too.

I think "arthur" is trying to make an appearance here but I've not been answering the door, hoping he will leave.  Does that work?

Not much happening here and can't think of anything to say.  I did find my 'trip to CA' but I can't find the other ones and I know that I had them.  Maybe I printed them out and have them in an album somewhere.  Wow, do you realize what Nosy Parker could/would say if she came to our GN meet.  She sure would have fun!

Okay, time to go and get started.  BBL.

Good Morning everyone, thanks for the coffee gramsuzi, I have been up for a couple of hours, wanted to get the chicken par-boiled and a few things done so I can relax today. I did all the yard yesterday and picked up the house and laundry so I'm hopping today I will just sit, o.k I will try and sit. My dad is coming over and dd1 is here, her boyfriend is coming later, and John will be here around noon, he has a few things to do this morning at his place.

I will be back to enjoy the coffee, just got out of the shower so need to blow dry my haif.

    HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY, grannies.

SUZI, I see there is a muffin to please everyone. I will add frittatas this morning and a bowl of fresh fruit. I am surprised your beauty salon is open on the Fourth.

WANDA, hoping the rain stays away from your celebrations. But, if it's like here, you will need a light jacket or sweater. It is only 55 degrees here.

RITA, I think today you should just sit back, relax and enjoy the party.

We will be home, too. The young neighbors didn't go to the Mississippi this week, so they will probably say, "come on over". Both of Laura's bands are in parades, today. She is gone to catch the bus driving one of the bands to the parade route. The band rides on a huge wagon that looks like a circus wagon. Our city band just rides on a flat bed truck.

Have a red, white and blue day, grannies. Are your flags flying?

Good morning. It is just a perfect morning and I think it is supposed to stay that way and tomorrow too.

Gary went fishing this morning. I'm sure he won't stay too long cause the home owners always plan things for the afternoon on the lake for the holidays. But, at least he went. I've been trying to kick him out for a couple of days. I have been keeping him very busy. It's just that if he doesn't start to go the whole season will be over before he knows it and he really needs some time to himself.

Suzi thanks for the coffee. No fireworks here. Our city has their big holiday next weekend. It called "Duk Duk Dazes". I used to see their fireworks out of our bedroom window but the trees have gotten so big I can't see them anymore. The bugs are always so bad I never want to go to them either.

Justme sometimes just saying NO to "arthur" helps. Hope you get everything done so that you can enjoy the get together too.

Lakemom as hard as you have been working around there I hope you can enjoy the day too.

Guess I had better get dressed and find something to do. Walking is still not on the list of my activities. A couple more weeks they say.

Hope everyone has a good day. A safe one too.

Good Morning All - Suzi I'll join you for a cup of coffee - thanks for the spread!

Yesterday turned out to be a busy one - took DGS (age 9) to meet DS then back home to the office to prepare payroll checks for 2 clients.  After that a bite of lunch, short nap and went into bookstore to work.  I'm pooped today but will go into store for a while to help out.  We were really busy last night and i wound up having to work up front on a register instead of the book dept.

Justme Arthur has already made his way into my house this AM.  As soon as I have my coffee am going to stand under a warm shower and try to limber  all the joints up.  Aleady had a pain pill.

Rita hope you are able to enjoy your day.

Bonnie glad Gary was able to go fishing.  My DH was a big fisherman and would go any time, any where.  I remember several times they went when it was so cold they had to heat the boat key in order to get the boat started and icles were hanging off the tip of the rods!

There will be several celebrations around the area today with a large one at the Bush Library.  There will be a huge fireworks show there tonight - I am able to see most of it from my backyard so will not fight the traffic!

Hope all have a safe and wonderful day!

Good morning Grannies! Happy Independence Day? Which two founding fathers, patriots, writers of the declaration, and two of the first presidents passed away on the Fourth of July, 1826? Which one passed first? Just to pick your brain, I did a trivia thing on one of the newspaper sites that I go to, didn't do so well. But, I did know the questions/answers that I asked you. It's to be a beauty here today, I've been invited several different places for the day, need to go and make brownies soon. Ah, beautiful morning, peaceful outside, nice cup of coffee, and the sound of a cat fight in my living room. The GC is showing Riley-who is always dense enough to start these things-who is the boss. Have a Sonny day and blessed be.

Goodmorning grannies. The smileys are still missing from my reply pg today. They are prob hiding from all the frowns because it's raining on the parades and picnics around here :( No smileys means no paragraphs either. I managed to get one reply posted last night then couldn't get the reply box. I went to lots of other sites and they all worked very well. I can't understand what happens here sometimes. Wed night everything just went zip and done! SUZI thanks for that great breakfast this morning. You must have got up real early to get that ready. You have earned lunch out so enjoy something good. JUSTme I hope Nosi Parker never does a write up about our meetings! WOW she could sell that for big $$$$$ especially with pics of the Miss GN contest! How well I remember that trip to Marty's. How much fun can a bunch of grannies have on a cyber trip to escape the winter ice and snow? I also got a tattoo done by Stylist :) LAKEMOM you were also on that trip flirting and distracting the driver! Sounds like you are about ready for company. ATV I thought you might get the 4 wheeler out, decorate it and ride in a parade :) ALBY hope dh catches lots of fish today. I did my walk with L today. Time away and have to work back up to 2 miles. I 1/2 this morning. MIMIB hope you get some rest time in there today. I have sent so many pic of the dggc to all of you....but Marcia sent the cutest thing if you really want to see it I'll send it on :) Thanks Marcia I love it. This is mission day. They will be serving lunch only today. All other services are closed. I'll serve lunch 12:00 to 1:30 then I'm done today. BBL

    Happy 4th!

It is going to be a very good day, just about 80*, low humidity and sunshine galore. Now if only the bugs don't bother. They were bad yesterday for some reason. We need to get back out into the garden.

Thanks for coffee Suzi. I'll take a roll later. I'm also surprised the beauty shop is open today.

Wanda, don't work too hard on preparations today. Take time to sit back and enjoy the day. I can't find my other stories, either.

Rita, with all that work yesterday, you shouldn't have anything to do today!

Nancy, it has warmed a bit from yesterday. I was just plain COLD all day.

Alby, glad Gary had a chance to fish some today. He has been busy taking care of you. You two are so good to each other.

Mimib, you also need a relaxing day after your busy one yesterday.

We may go up town to see the parade this afternoon. But not sure. Our town holds a very big one with lots of other activities all weekend. We'll drive over and park on a township road a mile from town and watch the fireworks. Don't have to fight traffic that way. Can see them all just fine from there.

    Good Morning Grannies ...

What a wonderful breakfast I see this morning. I'll help myself to some of  ATV's frittata and Suzi ... your orange cranberry muffins sound delish! I woke up at 4am, then rolled over and never got up until 8:30! That's a first in a long time and it sure felt good!

It's a rainy 4th here today and will be off and on all day. Fireworks were cancelled last night as of right now, we're not sure when they will be re-scheduled.

Justme ... Like you, I'm in the middle of a little cooking and baking myself. Already baked a cake last night to take to DS's tomorrow and that's as far as I got.

Lakemom ... Hope you will sit back and enjoy having John and the family over today. Smile

Alby ... Sounds like you're feeling better if you had to almost kick Gary out to go fishing!

Lauriet there are very few history questions that I can answer but we just saw CD about the start of our country and it's John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. If I'm right I really didn't cheat and if I'm wrong blame it on a SM.

    HAPPY 4th OF JULY

Good Morning....It's a beautiful morning and going to keep getting better.  DH is off on a bike ride.  I just finished the treadmill and will head out to the swing with my coffee in a few minutes.  The parade in town starts at 11....so I'll probably walk down to watch that.

No big plans for today.  Will grill some italian sausage later.  Otherwise, just a quiet day.  May go to the fireworks tonight.  DS & DDIL will be back on Sunday.

    Have a great day everyone...............

Hi Laurie. That's an easy one! John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. In fact, Jefferson had died and the message was on its way to Adams and he passed away before it was received!

Hi Grammy. Sorry it is going to rain on all your parades. Maybe you'll get picnic food at the mission today.

Alby, I started to answer and then went to see what DH wanted and got back and you had already answered! I guess we listened to our teachers way back then?Smile
