Good morning ladies. Happy 4 for those celebrating, and for the rest of us, happy Friday anyway!!

I posted too late last night, so I will just copy it to here, and then give you picture, proof of that we were in Barkerville!  DH has always wanted to do a picture, and i always scream and hollar NO NO, TAKE ME HOME!!  Well, this time, DD#1 was on his side, and I lost!

Well good afternoon ladies!  Not great to be back, way too soon!  The calendar says we were gone for 7 days, but I swear that was a mere 3!!  yup, found hot weather alright!  When you are used to 50 and all of a sudden are in 90, it's a big jump!  But of course, had a wonderful little lake we spent many hours in!  DD#2 is our biggest water fan we found out!  Even little Zack is very unsure of water, I think it is time our town got a swimming pool!

So we only went 2 hours away, but oh my, what a peaceful spot on the lake, so very quiet, in the big trees.  Big private lots for trailers.  And my parents joined us for the Long Weekend (Canada Day)  We witnessed two nights of fireworks, but none on July 1'st!!  We never saw any celebrations going on, am sure there were some, but we didn't see it.  We also went to Barkerville, largest City north of California back in the gold rush days, kids so enjoyed it!  Got a ride on the stagecoach, and bought some oldfashioned toys for the kids too.

Today I was doing laundry, and putting my house inside and out, back together.  We came home, and our sprinkler was on.  Our neighbour noticed we were not coming home, so he decided to turn it on, as our lawn is turning brown.  Gotta love neighbours like that!

Tomorow I will post some pictures, maybe even copy and paste this into tomorow, as I dont' know if anyone will read this tonight, waste of finger energy!!

We're cooking some ribs today and I will make a salad and decide on some type of potato.  Maybe just a baked one would be good...

Hey Marlene!  how is the fire situation?  Will people still get to have fireworks?  I know that is a big part of your celebrations today.  We found smokin hot weather, at least for us, and if that felt hot, I can only imagine what California feels like!  Take me home!!!!  Our trucks air condition works only half heartedly at best!  And no air conditioner in the trailer for sure!

I wanted to make ribs today too!  But I have no clue when DH will be home from work, it could be pretty late.  So then I figured I would tomoorow, but I work tomorow and have no clue when i will be home!  I bought ribs from Costco.  I have never splurged on ribs, how do you cook yours?  I will not boil these, I only do that to cheap ones.  I need a recipe that DH can handle, in other words, not too many steps from fridge to BBQ! LOL!!

Happy 4th of July to Pam and all of my SAHWS friends!!  Sorry that I have been MIA here for a while......as many of you know I was busy with DDs graduation party last weekend and now I'm working a part-time summer job!  I only work two days a week but they are 11 hour days. 

We are celebrating the holiday today with a family bbq at my aunt's pool.  I made rice pudding and baked beans to take along.  I'm hoping that tomorrow will be a nice quiet day at home......grilling and relaxing at our pool.  Have a happy and safe holiday!!

I'm not in CA I'm on the other coast, MA  LOL  My DS lives in CA though.

I like to take my ribs and season them with seasoned salt, and pepper.  I put them in aluminum foil that I spray with cooking spray and then add some onions and peppers and garlic and wrap them up good and tight.  Put them on the grill on low for about 1 hour. We turn them over once too. Then you remove them and can add bbq sauce if you like and sear them.  DH doesn't really like too much sauce so this works out great for him.  The ribs are always tender.

Marion glad to hear the smoke is clearing.  Did you ever say how far from Quincy you are?  That is where my DS is for a concert/festival this week.

Kim sounds like you have been busy.  11 hour days are long even for just two days a week.  You are a cook at a school during the year aren't you?  I work for a school too.  Don't cook any longer.  Did that for 13 years.  Now I am a clerk.  Much easier on me for sure...

 i just got in from burying my dog... we had to put him down tonight.
