    • I brought an extra cup of coffee this morning as I have the last 2 days from Rosie.  Maybe she will stop in and get it this morning.  Hope somebody drank the other two so they didn’t go to waste!!

    • Mabel-Hugs and you are in my prayers.  No one else can make a decision like that for you.  You need to do what you know in your heart is the right.

    • Gat-Hugs and prayers for you and Jeanette.  Please check in when you can! As you know we worry.

    • Now I am off to bed!!  See ya’ll in the morning!!

    • Thought for the Day- Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest. Don't judge life by one difficult season.-Unknown  Quotes are easy even with Shorty’s help.  I keep a list in Word when I find them!

    • Today is the day after the 4th of July!! A day we all need a good rest from all the food consumed and the friend we had a great time with.  No actually I have no idea what today is for a special day.  Fireworks are still going off all around and Shorty wants in my lap for protection so I haven’t even looked up anything! So just settle for the day after the 4th!

    • Special hugs and prayers for Betty, Louise and Maury, Gat and Jeanette, Mabel and Floyd, Grace, Ruth, Helen, Cat’s sister and Anne.

    • Remember the group prayer! “Heavenly Father, we ask that you watch over and care for all Cookin’ Seniors and those they love as they go about their day!!”

    • Zora

We shall see if this posts. I seemed to be locked out and didn't know if it was me or the BB.

Top of the morning to everyone.

((((GAT and JEANETTE)))))  We are so glad you checked in and you will continue to be in our prayers.  You are loved

PEG~Great to see you again and I'm sorry to hear you had a loss in your life.

Your meal sounds soooo good. I have no dinner plans. LOL

ZORA~~Are you going to be able to fill those coffee cups fast enough for all the takers? Looks like everyone needs a 'boost'.

How did Shorty do with the fireworks? Dog Dakotah hates them and our town's celebration was cancelled so we thought we were safe to leave him and go watch fireworks in a different town....He had the place trashed when we got home and had an "accident" so someone must have been having their own fun in the neighborhood, judging by the mess my poor paranoid dog left.

I even left the TV on for noise to cover up any 'pops' in the distance. (sigh)

I could not scold him but I'm up early cleaning and he is sulking.

We are in the parade with the grandkids this afternoon.

    Time to get coffeed up!

    TTFN~

Good Morning.  Still trying to get the sleep out of my eyes.  Was a bit after 12 when I crawled in bed.  Of course, didn't get everything done that I wanted yesterday.  Ended up spending half the day at Home Depot.  The weed wacker DH bought worked 20 minutes and stopped so we made another trip to Home Depot.  Ends up, the first one had been a return already.  He did get the 4 ground level windows, around the front door & garage door painted.  I had moved the sofa out from the windows so I could raise the screens and wash the sills.  DH went to shove it back last night and and one of the back legs (plastic) broke off.  So we made another trip to Lowe's and bought 8 wheels and sometime this weekend we'll replace all the legs on the sofa and loveseat.  I wasn't a real happy camper by this time.  I did go watch the fireworks with a friend.  We watched from the parking lot of where she attends church and then it lasted only 30 minutes.   I was expecting them to last at last an hour.  That was the first time I'd gone in 25 years.

Well, I need to go put today's first load of laundry in the dryer.  Y'all have a great day.  It's going to another crazy one around here.  ROFL.  Hugs and Prayers for All,  Roberta  :D

    Howdy,

Brrr.... Cool morning here but other wise the sun is shinning..

Glad to hear form some of our MIA’s and hope all the others missing are well. Gat I have missed our " adopted brother's " smiling face. Stop back when you can... Prayers for Jeanete. My Sis who is older than I just came through back surgery and is now home and doing O.K. Sore and says ouch a lot but otherwise so far O.K.

I am drinking the coffee . All of it. Eyes don’t want to open too good to today. I’ll hurry and make a fresh pot....

The fireworks I saw were on t.v. I first watched ones from NYC and then the one from Washigton D. C.. Enjoyed them both. Didn’t have to battle the mosquitos that way.. Or the rain. Have a great day all

    Sandy

    ·         Zora, thanks, I washed the cups and put them back in the cupboard.  Boy you must have slipped over the border into Louisiana for that last cup!  My eyeballs are spinning in two different directions.  Just what I needed.

    ·         Tippy, Daisy is sending paw pats to Dakotah empathizing and sympathizing.  She lucked out on the fireworks this year because of the drought ban.  Next year he can come for a visit during firework times if we still have a ban on them.

    ·         Roberta, good to see you.  Whew, you made me tired just reading about your day.  I should have saved you some of that last pot of coffee to get you perked back up.  Try to find some “you” time today.

    ·         Sandy, you reach for the coffee again and I’ll have to smack your hand.  LOL.  Realize I have been gone and you probably answered this, but how is your hubby’s toe and has he had the stroke tests yet?

    ·         We had a great fourth with more food than 4 people should have tried to eat, but boy was it good!  Walt had fun flipping through the channels on the different displays, therefore I enjoyed none of them.  I was working on some pictures anyway so it wasn’t a problem.

    ·         Wishing all of you happy fifths (make mine tequila with a lime and some salt please).  Hugs and prayers for each of you because YOU are loved!

The morning breeze is pleasantly cool on my skin. Can no longer feel the "tension" in the air as thunderstorms temporally abate. Grackles are fussing and Tadpole is in "mindless" shrill bark mode. Piles of laundry prevent any sitting on the couch and recliner. Hm, sigh, guess I had best remedy that un-sightly situation. Think I'll have another cup of coffee,

(reaching for coffee pot with gauntlet covered hand whilst peering over shoulder for attack from Rosie),

and stare at it just a wee longer as the morning is so nice--- "Arf-Arf-Arf. . ."

Yesterday was wonderful but almst too much for me.  I ain't the gal I used to be!  I went to a great neighborhood parade at 10 - candy is thrown to all of us and 3 marchers came to the curb with dog bisquits for the pooches!  About one there was a cookout at my son's - I took green beans - and at 3 I went home to rest. At 8:30 I got pickedup for river side fireworks. It was a new place for us and I had to do some walking and on an uphill slant which my back and hip do not like.  However, the $77,000 display was outstanding - the theme was red, white, and boom.  I felt sorry for dogs there.  Getting out of there was time-consuming but all polite drivers .  I just loved the entire dayand expect to recover today!

Gat and Jeanette I am praying for you, and if I may modestly say so, my prayers are always answered, so rest assured that everything is in divine order.

Did all the pets make it ok yesterday.  A big woof and meow from here.  Nancy B

    Good morning to everyone -

Ya' know, with all the technology poured into making this format "better" (?), the TOH techies have not mastered the simple task of recording the number of messages.  I posted the 30th message last night (the last one), to address a few of you, & it still says there are 29 posts.  So, ZORA, GAT, MABEL, & TIPPY, I spoke to you last night!

And now, since SANDY & ROSIE gulped all the free coffee, I'm off to my kitchen, cup in hand, with wishes, waves, & smiles for each of you - Helen

    Hi again,

Rosie in answer to your question re: DH.. The toe is still very sore and swollen but at least it is not bright red. Wow!!!! it was cherry red for a few days.

He has had the MRI but no call from Dr yet on results. Sigh .Guess we will have to call them.

I made a new type cake but I don’t know what I did wrong. Guess I used the wrong size pan. It called for a white cake mix ( I didn’t have that) so used just a one layer mix (lemon) and you were to put marshmallows on top and cover with brown paper an when it comes out of oven its supposed to have a marshmallow in each piece of cake,. Well.... I have a gooey mess on mine. Guess I should have figured out some way to have the brown paper up higher.

It was to keep it from burning. Sigh.... Back to the drawing board.

I loved the coffee we got in Hawaii one time years and years ago. I think it was called Kona coffee. Umm If anyone makes that, look out I will drain the whole pot..

    Sandy

Good morning from a cool Indiana, suppposed to get up to 90 tomorrow, think it's only about 65 here right now.

DH out on a job, helping a friend with some body work on a car.  Just talked to DD #2, they went out for fireworks last night, had a good time.  I'm in the process of doing laundry, always laundry to do.  Guess we're going out for dinner tonight, don't know where yet, but we'll think of some place.

Fireworks bothered Murphy last night too, he spent the night in the shop.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Hope all had a good day yesterday. We sure did. Ended up watching the fireworks from our living room, as usual. We are on a hill and get a good view of the Oceanside Fireworks over the ocean and the Lake San Marcos fireworks on the other side of the hill. We had a POT LUCK BBQ at the clubhouse yesterday. You brought your own meat to grill on the barbie and a dish to share. We were hosting, so I did dessert and made a huge peach cobbler that is gone, gone, gone! I am happy to report the peach ice cream I made the other day was very good and also gone. I am going to do fresh nectarine ice cream today, same recipe.

One of the gals tried a new recipe out on us for a fruited coleslaw. The dressing had yogurt in it and it was full of blueberries and strawberries. Very good! I asked for the recipe and will post it when I get it.

GAT~ Hugs and prayers for you and Jeanette.

MABLE~ Big hug girlfriend. You have a big decision to make.

Except for making ice cream today, I am going to be lazy again and curl up with a book and the air conditioning. Supposed to be in the high 80’s today. Mark is taking us out for dinner.

    Hugs to you all,

    Doreen

OK, it's still morning, but I was out and about with Russell, again. He felt the need for going to the Sportsmen's Warehouse, again. Fortunately, it is next door to Target and Michaels.

ZORA, left over coffee, it is not beyond me to drink some. But, Russell always wants freshly made. Just keep the pot a-perkin' and the CS will help drink it.

TIPPY, poor Dakotah. The little beasts across the street didn't like the noise, either. I read about the car on fire and you and Rich were truly angels for that young girl.

{{{ROBERTA}}}, you need a hug after your trials, yesterday.

SANDY, glad your Sis is doing better. I watched the shows last night, too. But, I wasn't happy with the music from D.C or Macy's show. Finally, the Boston Pops played some patriotic music.

ROSIE, our 4th was more subdued than yours. Just me and Russell, and some talking time with the neighbors. We watched the city fireworks from our family room. As for a happy 5th, pass the brandy, please.

BEVERLY, love the teapot, this morning. It seems the wash mountain grows overnight.

NANCY B, busy day for you. As we mature, things seem to be more taxing.

HELEN, I always read the final posts at night before I close the laptop. So, I always see yours or Margaret's posts. I have a pot of coffee going, too, we should have enought to suffice the CS.

PENNY, all the midwest is cool at night and warmer days. We even had an extra light blanket added to the bedcovers, last night. Where ever dinner is, it will be good 'cause you didn't have to make it.

Now, Russell feels Sam's calling. Here we go, again.

    Nancy Z.
