Good morning Grannies!  What a glorious day it is here at the lake!  Yesterday was sunny and in the low 80's, and today should be the same.  We had a couple families visit here at the cottage and everyone enjoyed themselves.  They all had children under 10 and let me tell you, they played all afternoon in the water and had a blast!

Apple- Fresh baked bread??? Oh, my!  yummmmmmmm

    Thanks for the coffee too!

How was everyone's 4th?  We watched many fireworks displays around the lake last night.  We sat on the beach with all the beautiful explosions going on for an hour and a half.  DH and I always play a patriotic CD during the fireworks.  There's nothing like a good old John Phillip Sousa march to get the patriotic feelings stirring.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning everyone!  It is still damp and foggy here.  Sure hope by one that the sun is shining.

Apple, thank you for the bread.  I don't eat a lot of bread until there is homemade.  Yummy!

I'm off to DM's this morning.  She got a new remote and wants me to figure it out.  "HA".  I'm remote challenged and they always make directions sooooo easy to understand...NOT.  Oh well, I'll give it a try.  From there I'll be headed for a hair cut.  Then on the way home DH wants me to stop at B&D and pick up some stuff for him.  And I'm hoping that the bank will be opened so that I can deposit a check.  Might go there before going for the hair cut.  At least I'll try them to see if they are open yet.

Okay, time to fly.  Hope everyone is just sitting back and enjoying themselves today.

Grammy, I think you said you were traveling today.  Safe travels.  BTW, if you want you can send me those pictures that Debbie (?) or Marcia sent you.

Prayers and hugs for all.  Take some.

Good morning. It's another pretty one out there. A little warm overnight for sleeping but all in all a great night. The noise makers stopped early so that wasn't all that much of a problem

Apple the coffee first thing in the morning is great but you added "Frest Bread" just can't get any better than that.

Connie you sound like you're having a great time at the lake. How long do you stay or is it for the whole summer.

Grammy I can only do the Xway driving if I really have to. Otherwise I will find another route to get anyplace that I can. Those GBS thingys are really neat. But then I have trouble finding my way out of an open paper bag. Could you send me the picture too. Thanks.

Guess that's about it for now. Morning sure came quickly.

Hope everyone has a good day.

     Gooooood Morning, Grannies!!

It looks like it will be another beautiful day.

Apple, Thanks for breakfast. It sure does look delicious.

Connie, It sounds like a fun time was had by all. I like the idea of the music as you watch the fireworks.

Justme, Good luck with the remote. They sure are a puzzle. They sure sound easy, but are a real puzzle to us.Hmm

Grammy, It sounds like a great day for you, delivering all the grannie hugs and kisses to the new baby.  My DS has one of those talking GPS boxes. I can see where they would be nice for traveling in a new area.  We don't need it to drive around the block.Big Smile   Praying for safe travels for you.

Alby, You sound like me. I get lost in a paperbag too. But I can read a map better than DH. But then, again, Don't need a map to go around the block. Wink

The first load of laundry is ready for the line. Then the usual Sat. cleaning. I also have to read yesterdays chat.

Hi to all those that come in later.

Good morning all. Short night and early morning. Couldn't get to sleep because of fireworks in the neighborhood and trembling dog who followed me to bed. Insisted on sleeping verry close and wanted me to keep my hand on him. Finally heard him snoring so I could drift off to sleep. Up early to get DH off to the men's prayer meeting. Now I have peace and quiet to visit the neighborhood.

Apple--M-mmm the fresh bread really makes good toast. Love it with just butter.

Connie---What a way to finish the holiday--watching the fireworks and listening to JFSousa music. I love his marches.

Justme---Sounds like quite a list of errands. If you figure out DM's remote come over and teach me about mine, please.

GrammyO---Bet you are just so anxious to see the Little One. Just relax and concentrate on your driving and you will be there in no time.

Well must go and see if I can get some things done while I have the house to myself. BBL

     Good Morning....

It's another beautiful day and I'm going to enjoy it outside as much as possible.  We went to some fireworks last night and enjoyed them...not even any bugs to bug us.

I just finished the treadmill and now ready to head out to the swing.  That cup of coffee will taste mighty good out there.

Safe travels for Grammy as she goes to meet her new dggd.

Good Morning. Cool at 64*, but expecting warmer mid-80s later. Sure hope so, I was cold all day yesterday!

I hear you offered fresh warm bread Apple.Sounds good.

Connie, that is the kind of music to be hearing last evening, not the stuff they were singing they were doing on the TV 4th shows! But finally the music accompanying the fireworks was nice. After seeing them on TV we drove over a couple of miles and sat in the car and watched our town display. Very pretty, too. We could also see some from a campground a couple miles south of us.

Wanda, such a busy morning. Hope you have lots of sun for all your activities this weekend.

Grammy, good luck on the expressway. No GPS needed here. We both have a great sense of direction We never even used maps. Just headed out. Always had one in the car and would take it in the motel to study which direction we wanted to go the next day and then put it in the trunk and "wing it". LOL  DH wouldn't let me use it when driving down the road. Guess he didn't want anyone to think he didn't know where he was going! LOL

BTW, we ALL want pictures of OUR new baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Alby. Must be much warmer up there!

Fran, did you get all the hay hauled yesterday?

Suzi, Charlie is worse than having a baby around!Smile

Hi CJ. Are you wearing out that swing yet? Smile

Don't know what today's agenda is going to be. MAYBE we'll see our son/Dil.  Right now my fingers are aching so that it is hard to type or hold my coffee cup. Both necessary to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Good morning, Grannies.

OK, KATHIE, pass the homemade bread. We had a cooler day, but 80's are a-comin', today. I see you are planning how to rattle those pots and pans, next week.

CONNIE, how spectacular that must have been with the sky a glow around the lake. Sousa marches are a favorite here, too.

Hi, WANDA, I'll join you in the remote challenged group-----there are so many buttons. But, my DGC seem to have no problem. Sun cvome out for Wanda's gathering, please.

GRAMMY, traveling mercies for you and the Silver Bullet. You will like the GPS. We used DD's when we went up north for a test trial.

ALBY, believe it or not, but we needed another light cover on for sleeping-----it got down to 59 overnight. But, today we will all have a great day for anything of our choosing.

Oh, FRAN, with a GPS, you could hear a sweet voice tell when to turn the corners to go around the block. LOL The one we had was useful when we had to make a trip to Eau Claire to find an appliance parts store. While Russell waited for the truck with a part, the kids and I used it to get to WM. DBIL and SIL are at the Ridge, so they must be having nice weather, this time.

SUZI, a DH gone for a while seems to inspire us to zip around and get lots done. Then, after the chores, a nice SSD.

CJAY, enjoy your swinging and sipping.

LILY, I agree about the music last night. Finally, with the Boston Pops we could even sing the familiar patriotic tunes. It was cool here, last night, so we watched the fireworks from our family couch.

Cleaning today and getting ready for the return of Bradley on Sunday. We sure miss that boy.

Good morning. It's a sunny, muggy, breezy 71* morning. I did open the house but will be shutting it again shortly, too much humidity already.

I've got sheets finishing up in the washer and will hang them out shortly. Need to make a quick run to WM and the liquor store. Back home after that and do some cleaning. How can two people raise so much dust? hehe

Grammy , safe travels today. Get all the snuggles in that you can while seeing your precious DGGD.

Wanda, thanks for the tweaking idea's on the bars. I'll add brown sugar too. My apple butter is quite strong so I don't think I'll need any cinnamon added to the crust.

Nancy, I'm sure Bradly misses you guys too.

Alby, stay cool today. It's gonna be a bit too warm for me today too. Did Gary catch a bunch of fish yesterday?

LILY, I have no sence of direction, I can get lost in a lunch bag. Enjoy the heat of the day.

CJ, glad you could enjoy the fireworks and not get carried away.

APPLE, thanks for the yummy home made bread. I'll take it plain.

SUZI, noisey here that night until midnight. But with the a/c running it wasn't too bad. Enjoy your quiet time alone.

FRAN, have a nice day and don't get lost! hehe

Connie, so glad to hear the weather has been nice and you are having a good time at the cabin. Enjoy.

Washer is buzzing, time to get the stuff to the lines and get something else done here.

Hi Grannies, happy July 5th!  It sounds like everyone had a good day yesterday, it was sunny but not too hot.  Took in two parades, two potlucks, and a nice fireworks display.  #1 is on his way to work and #2 is sleeping upstairs.  I think I'll work in the house for a bit and then head outside and get something done.  I think I need to get some water in the front yard.  I'll be in and out, have a Sonny day all, enjoy the summer!

    Re: ~....~ Grannie Chat ~....~ JULY 5th

Good morning ladies, I think I am ready to post.  Been busy cleaning off my keyboard after "spitting" coffee all over it after reading Bonnies post.  Never heard that little "ditty", couldn't find my way out of a paper bag, drinking coffee when I read it.  When I burst out laughing I "spit" coffee all over my keyboard!  If I can see the sun in the sky I can usually tell which direction I am facing at least.  I know some people just have a built in compass.  My MIL was like that, she just knew which direction she was facing no matter where she was,  whether she could see the sun or not.  That homemade bread sounds yummy, I have not had my bread maker out in ages.  Or do you not use a machine Apple?  I can smell the fragrance of it baking, mmmmm.  Sounds like you had a delightful evening last night Connie.  I love John Philip Sousa marchs also.  Very patriotic.  Wanda good luck with the remote.  Sometimes I have to call my son long distance to help me figure something out!  My finchs just flew up on the rockers on the porch.  They sit on the rockers and seem to be looking in the house.  I put another finch feeder out in the front for them.  The other night one stood on the ledge outside the picture window and kept pecking at the window!  If I believed in re-incarnation I would think it was a relative, lol.  Have a safe trip Helen and bring back "oodles" of pictures.  I bet you will see a change in her from the first pictures you saw.  They change so fast.  Oh how I envy you, holding a little one, enjoy, and give lots of hugs and kisses.  Hey Bonnie, how was DH's fishing trip yesterday, did he catch many?  Does he clean them and you eat them?  I know, I know, I am a nosy one!  Fran, I'll be hanging out towels this morning.  Love the fragrance of sheets and towels hung out to dry.  I am like you Gramsuzi, the peace and quiet while DH is gone is so nice.  CJ enjoy that cuppa on the swing.  DH and I usually have ours on the porch in our rockers.  So relaxing.  Ruth it was very cool here last nite, wonderful sleeping weather.  This morning still cool but shaping up to be a little warmer than yesterday.  Charlie is worse than having a baby around!   You know my hubbys name is Charlie and you hit the nail on the head!!   Sometimes that is oh too true!  Stick out tongue  Only when he is not feeling well tho, really.  Bradley is the reason you are cleaning today Nancy?  Is he a grandson?  My washer is buzzing to Mamma so I better skedaddle.  I just refreshed the page and I think my post will be next.  Hi Laurie, 2 parades and 2 potlucks, sounds like you had a great day.  Enjoy this day all, bbl.    I am out to hang up the towels.   GO CUBS!!

    Marcia  Smile

SSD for just a little bit. Just got back from bkfst out. Eggs and bacon and toast. Lots of coffee. Seems the waitress topped it off every time I sat it down. Whew! I'm about to float!

Charlie was a bad dog while we were gone. There was a sack on the floor and he got into it. 2 melons and he didn't bite into them just rolled them around on the floor. Found one under the kitchen table. My fault, DH sat the sack down this morning when he came home and I should have picked them up right then. Now I will peel them and cut them up for the fridge. Guess I will have them with cottage cheese for supper.

Well I must get back to my work. DH is out mowing the yard and it is a good time to get something accomplished.  BBL
