We enjoyed the holiday yesterday.......we just had a family gathering nearby......and some backyard fireworks.
The summer hasn't started off on a very good note for us......just 3 weeks after graduation Kayla lost a dear friend in a motorcycle accident. He was struck and killed by a drunk driver. Last week was so difficult for the kids.......Kayla attended three services in his honor.
On a lighter note, her graduation party was beautiful......we had a wonderful time entertaining friends and family in our backyard....the weather was warm and sunny! Also, my part-time job is going well.....I'm so much happier this summer than I was last. I had too much time on my hands and was awfully bored. This is just what I needed!
