 Ragged Old Flag

I walked through a county courthouse square,

Good Evening Sisters!

I hope you have all had a pleasant and SAFE 4th of July weekend!  As for us . . . DH and I picked up my parents and we went to a neighboring town and watched fireworks Thursday night.  Friday, DS was in the parade, carrying the American Flag for Civil Air Patrol, so of course, we went and watched him.  He went about his business that evening, and DH and I came home and watched a movie.

Today (Saturday) we went vehicle shopping.  (We're looking for a nice, used Grand Prix)  Found one that we're rather interested in, but don't dare let the salesperson know it!!  We'd like him to come down a bit in price.

DD arrived home after a week long church mission trip camp.  She got back around 4pm, and has to be at another camp (where she'll be a counselor this year) at 10am tomorrow morning.  Needless to say, she's barely had enough time to unpack, wash laundry, and re-pack.  We'll leave at about 6:30am to take her to camp.  She'll be there for a week.  I 'think' her counselor name is going to be 'Miss Mwah'  (as in the sound you make when you're blowing somebody a kiss!!). . . but she's not sure of that yet.  Anybody care to drop her a note or a postcard?  Just tell her it's from one of her 'secret aunts!!' 

Well ladies . . . I'll have to post more later, as DH needs to use the computer to figure out our route for tomorrow.  It SHOULD be a quiet evening tomorrow . . . DS will be going to youth group and DD will be at camp.  I'll try to post more tomorrow night.

In the meantime . . . HUGS to my new Secret Sisters . . . I can't wait to learn more about both of you!!

Good Morning, Sisters...Just a note before I go out to breakfast and onto the stores to see if I can find a couple of bargains.  If I'm already out, I might as well go shopping too!  LOL

I can truthfully say that I am missing a couple of my "old" sisters but am so thankful to have had the opportunity to get to know them.  There are a few that I still email and that is almost like a Chat Thread, just not as often.  LOL  And to the new sisters...you are in for a wonderful treat!  You'll be surprised how attached and bonded you will become with your new sisters.  So enjoy!

good morning all, I hope to be going shopping today. We went yesterday to target and got some stuff for future swaps and some educational stuff in the dollar spot. to my SS,  just a hint, I can not get enough educational stuff, for we homeschool and the kids (4 of them) love when I give them stickers or stamps (washable ink) they covet their crayons ans special pens and pencils!

But shopping with all the kids and DH is not all that fun. I hope to hit the bath and body works sale again....... today is the last day of the sale.

Its only 6: 23 here I am going to make some muffins this morning. I am also going to do someting related to the fourth of July but didn't get to do because the kids wanted smore's...... I'm making firework cup cakes...... I have some cake mix with red and blue sprinkles inside and I have white frosting and bought some red sugar crystals yesterday and DH found blue reaspberry licorice...... I'll bake the cupcakes and frost them and then dunk in the red (and blue) sprinkles and  poke a bit of the licorice in for the place where you would light the firecracker (the kids have never seen real fireworks before so this should thill them a bit).

but now I have to check to see if there is anything the kids can get free on webkins.

It's suppose to be a HOT one here today so they say, I hope they are wrong.

Well my Market day went well found tons of produce and goodies EXCEPT someone had brought a vistor in from their farm and guess who it found????????? SIGH   Everyone was hollering Black snake!!!!.......... Black snake!!!!.........I was thinking gesh all this over a lil old bitty snake......why I jumped to think it was little is beyond me must be I am citified where our critters are smaller..... this 5 foot looooooooong Black snake, I guess thought I looked friendly and came slithering towards me for a visit.........can we say aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkkkkkkkk? I dont do well with snakes. LOL As I jumped onto a chair( if it hadnt been vacant I still would have jumped on it anyways) someone had gotten a tote and covered it up and then slid the lid under to trap it and off it was taken to the grassy area. That my Sisters was my cue to find Mom and say we are done shopping for today time to leave!  

Well I need to get moving I need to do a lil shopping this morning

Marcia, Your LOVE and COMPASSION is amazing~I have never met anyone quite like you in my life!  BTW, I hope Spot is feeling better? Does he go around eating gross things? Gracie does~the other day she ate a rag rug! Actually, that is the 3rd one she has eaten! She deserved to be sick, the brat. She has never eaten anything in the house but let a rag rug lay around and it has been her job to eat it. So, no more rag rugs.

I haven't been able to let Spot have a rag rug since forever.... but have been thinking of incorporating it back....hoping that he won't chew it up... but who knows... lol.. he appears to be better this morning....

We are up, off to Church and will check in later.... I need to make a stop at JoAnns this morning to pick up some material for Kayden's blankets for the shower next weekend... yes, I am behind!!!!  sigh!!!! They have their snuggle flannel on sale and then another 10% coupon that can be used on top of that!!!  I have been trying to get there ALL weekend!!! 

 Wonderful day to all of you!!!  It has cooled off here inWashington a bit and the rain appears to still be around .... we needed it.. so that is ok!

Your snake experience reminded me of when we rented a house several years after we married years ago.  The house had a yard full of plants and flowers that I was so excited to take care of.  The first time I was pulling some weeds out came a snake from some flowers and that ended my desire to this day for yard work.  Thanks for DH taking care of the outside now.

Your fireworks cupcake sound really cute..  I feel bad your kids have never seen fireworks.  If they lived around her they would see them all summer and fall.  It seems every event either starts or ends with fireworks from spring thru fall.

I hope you are finding some good air to breathe out there.  Hope those fires will come to an end soon.

Well my DH is off on his motorcycle today so I have the day to myself.  I have a niece that wants a couple pictures I have but I have so many many pictures from 50 years and I am not the most organized person so I don't have most of them in any special order so it may take me a while to find the right one.  Pray that while looking I will learn organizational skills and use them as I go along to make the job easier the next time someone wants some.  I have the boxes and dividers and photo albums but don't have patience to separate everything.  I just put them in boxes and books and that is why It will take heaven knows how long to find the pictures I am looking for.

Wow!!  I think I got everyone today and that must be a first for me.

I wanted to add a funny that happened not too far away from us~A man robbed a cashier at Walmart! He grabbed her arm when the register was open and demanded 20s. They got the description AND his home address as he had just returned some merchandise and had to give his address when he did that!

Good morning!

It's a lazy Sunday.  Rick and I both have headaches, we think from all the smoke.  It got really bad yesterday.  The grandkids were over, and we had them outside playing in the water but the smoke got so bad we all came in.  

Not much planned.  I'm playing at www.ancestry.com, inputting lots of stuff, finding lots of stuff.  We have a Snider Family Reunion planned in Missouri in October, so I'm excited!!!  Snider was my grandmother's maiden name.

Connie- Is that website easy to use?  I've been wanting to find one like that because my grandmother wants me to research some family geneology-but she doesn't use the computer.

DH tried to make some beef jerky yesterday-it turned out pretty good, but he's afraid of it getting wet if he keeps it in the fridge.  I guess we really need one of those foodsavers.
