    Sunday: What's Cookin' (July 6, 08)(5:47 a.m.)

    Good Morning,

It's 75 out and to get to the upper 90's today.

Lunch will be grilled chicken and fan baked potato's on the grill.

This evening we'll be going on a picnic with the kids and their church out at their church property.

After the picnic we can all go inside their new church building and see where everything will be going when the church gets finished.  They are hoping to be in the new church Sept. 1st.

    Enjoy this beautiful day.

    THREE BULLETS

There  once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat.

He  had an old rifle and three bullets.

So,  he decided that he would go out hunting  and  kill some wild game for dinner.
As he went down the road, he saw a  rabbit.
He  shot at the rabbit and missed it.
    The  rabbit ran away.
Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the  squirrel but missed it.

The  squirrel disappeared into a hole in a cottonwood tree.
As he went  further, he saw a large wild 'Tom' turkey in the  tree,  but he had only one bullet remaining.
A voice spoke to him and  said, 'Pray first, aim high, and  stay focused.
However, at the same time,  he saw a deer  which  was a better kill.

He brought the gun down and aimed at the  deer.

But, then he saw a rattlesnake between his legs about to bite him, so  he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the  rattlesnake.

Still, the voice said again to him,
'I said,  'Pray, Aim high, and Stay focused.'
So,  the man decided to listen to God's voice.
He prayed, then aimed the  gun high up in the tree, and shot the wild turkey.

The bullet bounced off the turkey and killed  the deer.

The handle fell off the gun, hit the snake in the head, and  killed it.

And,  when the gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond.

When he stood  up to look around, he  had fish in all his pockets, a dead deer, and a turkey for his family to eat.

The snake (Satan) was  dead simply because  the  man listened to God.

    Moral of the  story:

Pray first  before you do anything, aim and  shoot high in your goals, and stay  focused on God.

Never  let others discourage you concerning your past.

The  past is exactly that, 'the past.' Live every day one day at a time,   and remember  that only God knows our future, and that He  will not put you through any more than you can  bear.

Do  not look to man for your blessings, but  look to the doors that only He has prepared in advance for  you in your favor.

Wait, be still, and patient: keep God  first, and  everything else will follow.

Pass this on in order that someone else  might be blessed.

FROM ONE FRIEND TO ANOTHER  ..

Don't worry about  tomorrow, God is already  there!!!

girl drinks from a mug tea or coffee animated gif

A gray smear of clouds are drifting swiftly across the horizon. Tinged with a faint orange at the very top edge before shifting shape and returning to blue/gray. Morning breeze carries a chilly touch and the wake up crow of a neighboring Rooster. Must not forget to bring in my pie plate that is on the back porch. I left it out last night, filled with cooked chicken for my "resident" family of skunks.

Will consume another cup of coffee before going out front to start digging up our gas line. The gas company turned off our gas yesterday as there is a leak somewhere and we are now without hot water.

     68 ° with 83% humidity and a high of 90° is expected.

     It's already 87 out.

I got some wonderful green seedless grapes this morning and for 88 cents a pound.  I was surprised to get them at that price.  They are sooooo good.

     Stay cool in this heat.

Good Morning...temp. 83 high 83 think it's going to get warmer than that. Went to my apt. and washed  down the siding, and steps.  Doesn't look as if anyone cleans outside or sweep the steps. Made old man mad downstairs as I washed the steps and water was on walk way and he was  cursing (dumb sob). will be going to Tn. Friday to get my furniture, be moving in next Sunday.  I will be so glad to be by myself once again (8 month).

Someone posted glaze for ribs, will try on some chicken, baked sweet pot. green beans.

    have a good Sunday...diana

It is hot, humid, and overcast -looks like it could rain at any minute. Dinner today will be a combination of leftovers and some new entrees. Dh will cook pork tenderloin on the grill and we will have leftover sides of baked beans and potato salad. I dont' know what green I will fix. Dessert will be strawberries stuffed with cheesecake filling. This will be the 4th batch that I have made - I guess that lets you know how much we like the recipe.

Good Afternoon & a lazy one at that. We had the family cookout yesterday and had too much food.  Therefore today is cleaning up and doing as little as possible. 60% chance of thunderstorms, Lightning so keeping fingers crossed for that. I think dinner will be just a big salad with greens and tomatoes from the garden .Yummy!!I fixed citrus lemonade yesterday that went over real well. Yes I found it in the recipes of the TOH here online. I’ve posted the link below, if it will open for you. Anyway Lemons, Limes & Oranges and sugar with water.

We have a great breeze here today and much needed with no A/C. I am back on my diet after doing a good job of eating everything in site on the 4th. I won't bore you with the diet TV dinner and salad I'm having tonight, LOL.

CK I hope you have a great picnic this afternoon. Happy Sunday to everyone.

Supper tonight will be taco salad...I buy ground meat in bulk and cook it all at one...and freeze in containers, some is just plain and some is seasoned with taco seasonings...so when it get to hot to cook I dont have to stand over the stove frying meat

    Hi everyone.

I'm late getting here today.  Had a golf game this afternoon and just got back home so supper will be late today.  We're having the Mustard glazed pork roast that was on the BB last month.  I think it was KC10 who posted it. It certainly smells good.  Will have that with some roast potatoes and broccoli.

It has been a beautiful day here , warm sunny and blue skies.  Fortunately just a little bit of breeze coming in off the lake and that made the golf course bearable.  How come when it warm (or even hot), I hit the ball down the middle and not into the trees and the shade?.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Just be glad you are out there golfing Tastycook! We had so many years we golfed and enjoyed it so. DH has arthritis so bad so can't swing so I gave it up too.We were on golf league for 12 years and had such a great time. We had so many extra parties. Just so many good times and now have lost many of those friends when they were younger.

Went to church and made home made carmel pecan rolls. We had a casserole for supper that I had in freezer so really lazy on the meals. Had biscuits and sausage for breakfast. Did work on a flower bed some. We are being threatened with rain but has not came yet.

    Everyone have a great evening!

We went to church and then had lunch with all the family. Chicken casserole, corn on the cob, green beans, fried squash, salad, cucumbers and onions, tomato slices, and dewberry cobbler for dessert. Dinner was some quickly made sub sandwiches, that the boys like, and chips. I'm out of fresh fruit. I've got lots of garden veggies, but no fruit. I'll have to hit the store tomorrow.
