I am bumped up Red_Savage1's post for all to see all the tips but also wanted to do this as a separate post for those like me who may be struggling with dandruff and an itchy scalp.
I tried the lemon juice for dandruff tip and it worked! I have been struggling with this for over a year and have tried countless remedies and expensive dandruff shampoos. Two treatments and my scalp has cleared and nearly all flakes are GONE! I will continue for the next couple times I wash my hair and then repeat at least once a week to maintain. I can't thank you enough red_savage1 for the post on Odd Uses for Food. If I could I would kiss you! My hair dresser will be so impressed. I bought a qt bottle of a store brand lemon juice from concentrate (in the juice aisle) for $1.94 so besides working, it is inexpensive and my hair feels so soft as well. I just shampooed and condtioned my hair and then followed the directions below:
LEMONS
Dandruff can be an embarrassing health problem, but the special shampoo often smells yucky. Try massaging 2 tablespoons of lemon juice into your scalp and rinsing with warm water. Follow with a leave-in rinse of 1 teaspoon lemon juice in 1 cup of warm water. Use this daily until your scalp is healed.
