****PRAYER CIRCLE MON. JULY 7, 2008****

Psa 81:10  "I, the LORD, am your God, Who brought you up from the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.
Psa 81:11  "But My people did not listen to My voice, And Israel did not obey Me.
Psa 81:12  "So I gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart, To walk in their own devices.
Psa 81:13  "Oh that My people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways!
Psa 81:14  "I would quickly subdue their enemies And turn My hand against their adversaries.

Our God is a God Who wants to bless us. He wants to meet our needs. He wants to intervene in impossible situations. We are our own worst enemies because we are the ones who prevent that from happening.

In this passage, God is talking about Israel, His people. What's he's saying? They didn't listen to His voice. They did not obey Him.  In verse 13, He yearns for His people to listen to Him, to walk in His ways.  Then  He would quickly subdue their enemies and turn His hand against their adversaries.  Earlier He's saying He wants His people to open their mouths wide and He will fill them. He wants to meet our needs abundantly.

I read these passages a few weeks ago and got mad at myself. This is such simple basic stuff, but how quickly I forget it. And I suspect I'm not too different from most people. We have a God Who yearns for us. He wants to meet our needs. He wants to act on our behalf, but it's our disobedience, our hands over our ears, our  going astray that prevents Him from doing that. I don't know about you, but I want God to provide for me and bless me. I want for Him to intervene in my life and to defend and protect me.

I need to remember to listen to His voice. I need to remember to obey. I need to remember to walk in His ways. I need to get with the program and cooperate with Him. Then I can watch and be amazed at how He works.

Good evening! I'd appreciate prayers for my little Lindsey. She has a mild ear infection and thrush. She's been having trouble swallowing.  I can't believe she'll be 11 mos. old on Tuesday!

I'd also appreiciate continued prayer for Evan and some exciting possibilities he may be facing. God is at work. I'm thankful for his girlfriend who believes in him and supports him in all his endeavors.

Have a good night everyone! Deb

    Hi All!

Well, DD and Gkids have gone home.  We had a wonderful time most of the time--but DD and I came down with a bug a few days ago and we have both been SO sick--sore throat, runny nose, coughing, body aches, etc!  Finally Saturday morning we both went to Primary Care and saw the NP.  She said we had an upper resp. infection.  Well, now mine has moved into my brochial (sp?) tubes, too. :(   Anyway, that's why I haven't been checking in, just felt too rotten.

I have peeked in some of the time for prayer requests and have been praying for you all.

So glad to see Fishin back!  And Honey, you just didn't go far enough out into the country or you'd have been in KY.  LOL  Hope you had a good time!

Now I'm not going to try to address anyone else tonight but I'm sending disinfected hugs to all of you. ;)

    God Bless! Nite Nite!

Deb, very good lesson, I can relate!!!!  I am my own worst enemy, if only I would listen & obey the Lord!!!!    Sad

Prayers for little Lindsey to feel better real soon. Prayers for Evan to receive all that God has for him.

Hi Fay, good to see you back again!   I am sorry that you & DD were sick when you should have been enjoying each other. Prayers for those germs to leave your body!!!

I need to go & read yesterdays requests, God's blessings on you all,

    Patty

Praying for Lindsey.  Praying for GrannyFay to get over whatever.

Good lesson.  I read not too long ago that Jesus wants to be our friend in every sense of the word and I pray everyday that I will be a friend of Jesus and I pray for increased faith and trust.  It's just amazing what happens for the few seconds when I let go and let God work.

I just can't seem to figure out how to bring up the posts while I am replying but I pray for each one as I read and every day I pray several times a day for all the requests on the PC.  God knows and he understands that I just am not really good at the computer.

     Hi Friends In Christ,

I'm asking for prayer for the sister of a friend of mine. Her name is Denise and this past week she came home to find her husband masturbating with gay porn magazines in view of their children. He confessed that he has been having an on-going relationship with a man. She is devestated. Please pray for Denise and her children. They are very young. This is going to be a difficult thing for all of them. Thanks. Sorry I had to be so graphic.

Good morning friends!  We are home from our week at the cottage, well rested and ready to take on the day.

Hi Patty!  Sending you a smile and a hug, and a prayer that you have a good day today.

fishin- You continue to be on my prayer list!

Jenni- I'm sorry for the pain that your friend's sister is going through.  She and her family will be in my prayers.  I saw your photo post of you and your sweetie during your 4th of July socializing.  What a great photo!  Glad to hear your were feeling well.

    Happy Monday!

""""""""""I need to remember to listen to His voice. I need to remember to obey. I need to remember to walk in His ways. I need to get with the program and cooperate with Him. Then I can watch and be amazed at how He works. """"""""""

That's me exactly.  I give my life & worries to Him but I constantly "take it back" and try to think I know better and do things on my own.  I try to figure out the answer instead of just being quiet and letting Him do His works for me in the best way possible.

THANK YOU GrandmaK_54_Illinois.   Perfect words for me today.

    Good morning dear ones...

Hmmmm,  a lesson that I think is bruising many toes here Deb.   Just when I think I'm starting to get it......I can hear myself thinking......It's all yours Lord, BUT.    Why must I always throw that "but" in there,  with a few suggestions of my own.  ***sigh***  Confused

Off for a quick walk with Gaby.....looks like the skies may open up at any second.  Storm  See you all later,  you will be in my prayers.

Good morning! I have a busy day ahead. I'm taking to a meal to a family at church. For some reason, it takes all day to fix a meal for someone else. I can slap the exact same thing together for my family in 45 min. LOL! Anyway, it looks like storms are rolling in and I have to run to the store then run this meal to the family. Please pray that the meal turns out. My food turns out for my family and flops when I fix it for others.

Praying for everyone! I'm feeling much better today! Yay!

Just popping back in and waving at Pat.  Smile

Randy- It is so muggy here this morning, with storms coming later today.  Hope you and Tom are doing well today!

Deb- Saying a prayer for your meal adventure.  What a blessing it is to receive a meal.  I know what you mean about the food you throw together for family being quick, easy and successful, but cooking for others is always a bit more problematic!!
