Good morning all.  It's sunny now, could have storms today but supposed to be upper 80's to 90's today.  Need to get out and pick beans when they dry off.  Have laundry going.  Will grocery shop and then go to work to pick up my computer.  Had to work on it last week.  It's fun to watch them work, everything moving around but no one touching it.   Supper is the last of the London broil, corn and beans.  Probably cucs too.  got to use that garden stuff.  :)

Margie, have a good day.  Is Emily still getting cooking lessons?  Does she have any favorites to make?

Deb, it was hard for us to get up and we only had a 3 days weekend, can imagine how hard it was for you after a week.  Hope you have a good day.

Patti, love the pics.  Garden is lovely and Royce's shop is great.

Well, off to get  a few things done.    Jill

    Hi, everybody.

Margie, chili beans sounds good. Even your leftovers dinner sounds good. Started to make the BBQ chicken salad yesterday, but decided to use the chicken for chicken and dumplings, so had that with green beans. Right now the salad is basically just a salad. Need to do something else with all those chicken legs I thawed out yesterday. Might fry some and have them with corn and mashed potatoes and gravy tonight and barbecue some tomorrow night. Not sure about that.

Not sure what I will be doing after I get off work, but need to run a couple of errands. I don't expect work to be busy until tomorrow. I need to get to sleep earlier tonight because tomorrow night I won't (because of the Bible study and then I have two more back to backs at the hospital

Didn't elevate my knee enough yesterday or ice and elevate it so I will have to do that today. I will try to get an appointment with the ortho doctor set up today after I get off. Neve did get my desk cleaned, but was glad to get the kitchen cleaned up again and I finally did get my muffins made. They are funny looking, almost blue because of the blueberries in the batter. PRobably should have just folded those in (LOL). Anyway, they taste good. Lots of flavors.

Need coffee. Not awake enough yet to be on here.

Patti, love the flowerbed, especially the hydrangea :-)

Hugs to everybody. Not awake enough to do the name thing yet, so I will just say hi and I hope you all have a wonderful day.

    Good morning everyone!

Coolish but very muggy here this AM, supposed to get in upper 80's with showers/storms later. Sounds like most of you had a pretty nice weekend; never made it here yesterday as I had a very bad allergy attack and was miserable all day. Saturday was nice at the lake; time with my family, lots of good food, and a very nice fireworks display! Also got to look at pictures from my aunt & uncle's big trip out west; they went lots of interesting places and saw tons of beautiful scenery! The one thing that bothered me in the evening was, almost everyone had a campfire/bonfire going, and the smoke was terrible; I took an allergy tab right away, which seemed to help then, but it sure didn't last the 24hrs. like it was supposed to. Not sure what set me off yesterday, but seems to be better this AM.
Danielle's first Allstar game is scheduled for tonight, hope the storms hold off, tho I'm NOT happy with our game start time - 8:00PM; another team joined in the tourny, so our game got bumped back. Sad

    Margie, sorry your fireworks were not so good; always disappointing when that happens. Nice you got to relax yesterday; hope you don't work too hard today. Supper sounds very good, as always! {{{{hugs}}}}

Deb, vacation time always seems to go too fast...Sad Sounds like you had a nice visit with several members of DH's family on Saturday. Hope it doesn't get too hot today!

Jill, your garden is just going great guns; our beans are blossoming, so hope to have some before too long. Did pick my first zucchini & 2 cherry tomatoes earlier; have more of each coming on, plus some yellow squash. The steak marinade you posted sounds great, will definitely give it a try soon.

{{Sherry}}, sorry your knee is bothering you so much; hope you're able to get into the ortho doc soon. Hope you have a good day at work & get your errands run.

Patti, again, thanks for sharing pics; Royce has a very nice looking shop & your flowers are gorgeous!!

Kim, sorry you didn't enjoy the cookout very much & sad when kids have to act that way; hope you're feeling better today. Sounds like you were very busy outside too.

Denise, sounds like you & DH had a good weekend, nice you found some good deals! Dress sounds very pretty; did you find one in another color?

Kathleen, your picnic sounded great, especially the water slide. Yes, corn hole & hillbilly golf are very big here!

    Sheila, nice you met more neighbors & enjoyed your visit!! Sounds like the cleaning/packing is coming right along. {{{hugs}}}

Shirley, my friends had corn hole & hillbilly golf at their grad party too, lots of fun!! Our town is planning a corn hole tourny for the festival at the end of the month; hope we do as well.

Well, may be one of those days, the kids are waaay wound up already.......better get going; hope each of you has a great day!!

    hugs, Lisa

    Happy Monday!

    Good Morning June Friends!

Looks like rain outside, that is ok, the garden and flowers could use some.

I ended up spending most of the day with my gf and her family.  She kidnapped me late morning and we headed to West Bend where one of her brothers live.  First we went to Stein's and browsed around there.  All I bought was a stalk of bamboo and a neat clear glass container to stand it in.  (I put black and clear glass beads in it) Love the fact you don't need soil. Anyways, then we went to her brothers for a cookout.  It was just nice to sit outside and yak and yak.  Her elderly aunt and uncle were there, so there was lots of old stories told which were fun to listen to.  On our way home we stopped by Culver's and had a hot fudge sundae with pecans -oh yum!  I got home about 8:30 last night.

Today I'll do some grocery shopping while boys are at summer school.   This afternoon Sam has his physical for sports participation.   I need to get him to Fond du lac or Madison, I need to get him his football shoes, really no place close around here that carry that kind of thing.

Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend.

    hugs........patti

    Happy Fall !

Good Morning Ladies. hope everyone is doing well this Monday morning. It's always rough getting back into a normal routine after a long holidsay weekend! Having a good day sofar, doing my usual morning routine. Im so glad the trsadmill is working again. DH went off to work, and i started a load of laundry. I just finished breakfast after watering the outside plants. I hie we see the sun today. it's cloiudy right now, but the weather report I heard said a mix of sun and clouds. i have so much laundry to hang on the line. Supper for tonight will be kilbassi, macaroni salad, and a garden salad.

Yesterday turned out to be a great day. WE did go to Dress barn and i found the same style dress in the other color. I was so happy! I also looked for something to wear to the shower, but decided to wear something I have. Kmart is in the same shopping plaza, so we bought a few things there too. Later on after lunch, I relaxed outside and read my book while dh putterd around the yard. After supper he went to a car cruise. it's one I never cared for, too "clicky" and crowded. I went next door to my neighbor and we sat outside and talked for a long time.

Margie. Maybe since Emily's bofriend is out of town you and Emily could do some  Mother daughter type things, or maybe Emily could get together with her friends. Anything to keep her busyt, and not missing her boyfriend so much.

DEb, Isn't the first day back to a normal routine terrible? Monday's are bad enough but after a week off it's even worse. Does your husband get anymore vacation? My husband has another week off in Sept. Thatr one will be a paid vacation. The one he had in June he didn't get paid for because he wasen't there a year yet. This week is a year since he started his new job after retiring from the post office.

    Hi Jill, Enjoy your day!

Sherry, hope your knee feels better.

Lisa, Allergies are the worst! I've been pretty good lately, but my allergies were bothering me a lot in the spring, and a little bit a fe weeks ago. Glad your feeling better.

Patti, Sounds like you had a nice day yesterday. Glad to hear you got to do something fun for yourself!

Thats it for now. i think my first load of laundry is ready to go on the line. have a great day everyone. HELLO to anyone I may have missed!

Good morning to all of my June friends.  Hope all is well with everyone.  I'm having computer problems AGAIN.  It's typing only the letters it wants.  I'm sure it is  virus AGAIN.

Kate called me from her dad's last night and said she was spotting.  He brought her home and I took her to the ER.  Everything is ok.  She goes for a doc appt thurs.  He had her helping him move.  She way over did it.  Found out his gf is staying in CT and not coming back.   I thought that is what she was doing.  So she called him and he has to pack up the house and get it in storage.  He has no income, so not sure what he'll do.   He talked Andy in to going and helping today.   Now both kids are treating me like poopoo.  I'm sure this is all my fault, too.  Whatever.

Well, I work 10-10 today, so have to dry my hair and get busy.

Hugs and love to you all.

    Cherie

Oh, Cherie, I'm so sorry the kids can't understand and take out things on you.   (((Hugs)))   Glad Kate was ok.

Well, got my beans picked, not too many so will be able to manage them in one meal but had a ton of squash so will have some tonight ans till have more.  Maybe I'll make squash muffins in a few days.  Depends on if i work tomorrow or not.  Already heated up the house enough by making my ice cream roll (the cake).   Will put it together soon.

    Hi Girls,

Patti, thanks for the pictures.  Your flowers are lovely.  Glad you had a nice day yesterday.  I had a great Aunt that lived in Fon du Lac - she had been a nun and lived in a home for retired nuns.

Margie, how much actual time do Emily and her bf spend together?  Is it mostly on the computer and phone?

Lisa, 8 o'clock start for a kids softball game is ridiculous - even during Summer!  People have to go to work in the morning!  At least it will still be light out for the most part.  Here in CA it is dark by 8, doesn't stay light til 9:30 like it does in Ohio.

Well, today is Jason's 1st day of the 4th grade!!  I made him Dowie's sticky buns for breakfast as a surprise - his favorite!!  He will go to school until the end of July and then have the entire month of August off.  The school schedules in our district are weird, but we have gotten used to it.

I have to run to walmart today - I swear it seems I live at that store sometimes.  I will head there after I take Jason to school.

Today I have some housework odds and ends to finish up.  Did some of my chores last night, so today won't be so bad.

We are having leftover (from the 4th) bbq chicken for dinner tonight.  Along with corn on the cob, green beans (from garden) and something else, I am not sure what though.

I better get going.  I have to get beautified before I leave today, since I am going to walk Jason into his class to meet his teacher.  Normally I would just drop him off.

    Have a wonderful day, ladies.

    Kathleen

Re: June Cleaver Club Monday 7/7/08

HI   another glorious day yesterday,,we went to the farmers market before heading to Walmart and they had so many wonderful vegetables, they said Ohio corn but not sure where it came from but it was ok..got tomatoe, cukes, strawberries cantaloupes and garlic, the family had built a new building and it is so nice, bigger and they have room to display the preserves from the Amish around the area, can't wait until their veggies are ripe but ours will be ready also...lots of yellow buds on the tomatoes and the zuchinni looks like we will be overrun and I just can't wait...

I was watching the swimming on TV and so happy the 41 year old gal will be going to the Olypics....she said water does not know how old you are..good thought....

Kassies friend the gal from Germany had her going back party yesterday, so sad to see these wonderful gals go back home...the neighbors next door had Kim and she left earlier in June, this one did not  have her parents come to go back with her so she seems so young to be traveling so far alone...she was younger only 16 and will have at least 3 more  years of school, Kim was able to graduate with our senior class but will have 2 more years of school in Germany and school started already for her...it was a wonderful experience for our kids to make lifelong friends with these two sweet girls..

Patti your pics are beautiful and I love Royces work shop, Margie it must be hard for Emily to have such a long distance boy friend...at her age she is very unusual to have kept her relationship with him for so long, most girls would be seeing local fellas..I hope she will be able to enjoy her summer by doing stuff with you, the cooking is a great outlet...is she a junior or senior now....is she going in the military after school.  the years have sure gone by so quickly...I miss hearing from Anne  the gal from France and the military wife too...Kansas Deb is on the Healthy group sometimes with Jolene M. and they are doing good, Deb has had a lot of weather problems with their farm and she has two grandkids now.  a boy and girl. I also miss KathyF, but I know she is working from home and I miss her talk about her children and her great recipes.   I can see how life has a way of getting in the way of being on the BB a lot.  We might be loosing our great pitcher CC Sabathia sp, Our Indians are doing poorly and it seems stupid to get rid of a wonderful pitcher but who am I to offer advice, I only feel that if you have a good  pitcher that is half the battle...oh baseball you are making me old... well gabby Shirley had better go, take care    Shirley

Re: June Cleaver Club Monday 7/7/08

Good morning ladies, I am sitting here and having a nice cup of coffee and a Chocolate Pumpkin Muffin, big one, Texas style, Lol. What a beautiful weekend it was, got my playroom all cleaned out, DH took everything i didn't want to Salvation Army. I hate to leave the junk there for a lawn sale, too much work to store it, so it goes out of the house.

Patti-Loved the pics of your flower bed, it is so nice and you have a lot of beautiful flowers. I have the red Bee Balm too, and it is so beautiful, it really grows over the years, but stays in a nice grouping of red flowers. I have a nice big patch of it. Also love your DH's work shop. What a big building, it is really nice. Wouldn't my DH love to have that, we are sharing my garden shed, and he has such big snowblowers and lawn mowers, that he takes over half of the area. As long as he leaves my potting bench alone, he can stay there.

Margie and Junebugs, good to see that you all enjoyed the weekend. I get so busy on my projects, that I don't find time to come on the site, very often. Yesterday, I went to pick up the specials at the grocery stores. Our stores are called Hannaford and Shaws, and I shop at Wal-Mart for other things. I brought specials at one store for Diet Pepsi, it was 5 cases for $10.00, and you got a free case of Mountain Dew, if you brought 5 cases of soda. I had DH take one cart and I had another and we filled both carts with the specials. At Hannaford, they had specials for NY Sirloin steak, it was $2.99 a pound, it was in a family pack, so I brought 4 pkgs. of those. They also had boneless chicken breast for $1.88 a pound, those were also in family packs, so brought 4 pkgs. of those too, came right home and got all the meat into the freezer right off, as it was quite hot outdoors. I will have enough for winter in steaks and chicken breasts.

Also stocked up on peanut butter, went to Sam's and brought the 6 lb. can of Peter Pan peanut butter for $7.22 a can. Also brought 4 jars of grape jelly to go with it on sale for 2 big jars together for $3.00. I also brought 4 cans of Clorox wipes together for around $7 or 8 dollars, and they are selling at Wal-Mart for around 3 or 4 dollars apiece. You can shop wisely if you just get the specials at certain stores. I go through my flyers each week to see where the specials are, and I stock up. My shelf down stairs for my stockup items, are full now for winter. It will be nice not to have to go out in a blizzard to get groceries, when I have it in the freezer, and on my shelves downstairs.

Today, I am doing a load of white laundry, I stocked up on Tide too, you can find the non concentrated for sale at a good price now, that the concentrated is skyhigh. I don't like it as well as the old Coldwater Tide, but will have to eventually buy it that way, or go on another different liquid soap.

I have to go out and deadhead some flowers out back today also, and pull a few weeds. I have tiny Cucumbers that I should be able to pick at the end of the week, a lot of radishes, thank goodness that DH loves them, as I would be giving a lot away. I also have tiny tomatoes on my plants now, my beets are looking beautiful, and my Sweet Potatoes are taking off. I can't wait to see how they do in the Fall. My Sugar Snap Peas are up and doing so well, I am going to have to get some chicken wire, so they can climb on it, and can't wait for those, either.

I am going to have Ham steak, Mashed Potatoes, and some frozen Peas for supper, so that ought to be good. Hope everyone is having a good day, waving to everyone, hope you all have a beautiful day filled with flowers.

    Belle
