    Good Morning Ladies

    Re: 07-07-08 Grannie Neighborhood

I didn't get  back here last night - It got really still, hot and Humid, and then there was a rumble and some flashes of lightning, so thought I'd best stay away.  I just heard on the radio, that we got 1.34 inches of rain.  We actually needed a shower, which seems so hard to believe after all of the rain earlier. I was surprised to see all of the lawn watering and even irrigation up by DD this weekend.

I plan to go to a musical show at the high school tonight. It is made up of a group of high school singers and jazz band players chosen from around the state and then they go on tour around the state over the summer.  One of the guys that I work with has a DD in the group.  They have been doing this for the last 10 years or so, and I understand it's a great show. They were actually looking for housing for the kids but I passed on that.

There was an interesting article in the paper this morning - About 2 brothers-one lost his home in the May tornado and the others home was flooded three weeks later. They have agreed to let the reporter follow their story for a year.

Good morning Grannies.  Sorry I slowed your computer down so much Lily.  I'm glad I only took three pictures.  I have to tutor at 7:30, need to get a move on.  Have a Sonny day and blessed be.

    Good morning, grannies.

No rain, here, but H & H, yes.

JANE, what a good show you will see tonight. The kids always do a great job. So many trying to recover from the weather devastation..

LAURIET, I am surmising you have several ages for tutoring. Have a good day "tutoring".

I am always up for coffee, RITA. Nivce weekend here, too.

Bradley is up early, so it is breakfast time. Then, I will go to the Med Center to pick up a new glucometer. They like to give us a new one every couple of years.

    Have a nice day, grannies.

Good morning friends.  Yes, it's hot and humid here today, too.  Looks like we will be getting some rain later today, so I'm holding off on watering my outdoor plants.

Got back from the cottage late yesterday afternoon.  We had an enjoyable time but now it's back to the real world.  My list of duties is very long today with laundry and errands to run, and now my cat is sick.  The vet will be the first stop this morning.  From what I can tell she has a respiratory infection.  She is not a happy kitty.

Nancy- I know that Bradley will keep you busy today.  Have fun.

A cup of coffee sounds great before I begin my tasks for the day.  Thanks!

Good Morning everyone. It is going to be another muggy one today, with the possibilityof strong and severe storms later. After today, it is forecast to be a typical July week, with temps in the 80s and summer like!

Jane, we only had a shower last night and then it turned really cool afterwards. Just a little thunder rumbling. It is so sandy further north, that I'm sure it dries up very quickly that way. That's why Mamma and Alby have to water so much more than I do.

Laurie, I copied and sent the pictures on to everyone in separate posts. I hope they went faster that way.  BTW, Jane, your's came back undeliverable?

Hi Rita, always ready for coffee!

Hi Nancy. Any special plans with Bradley today?

Connie, with the heat and humidity coming, this sounds like a week t hat should be spent at a lake.

Good morning Grannies !   It isn't sunny here but it is SONny !  Raining gently with an occasional distant thunder roll. I got up at 6:30 and thought it was just breaking daylight so sat down in my chair and watched TV. Went right to sleep and slept till 8:30. Still as dark as it was when I got up. Even Charlie slept late. Finally got DH up about 15 min ago.

Charlie's family is home safely. They called and said they were home yesterday about noon. We will receive a call about taking Charlie back to them sometime today. Will miss having him here. We are anxious to here about the kids trip to Europe and all that they saw while there.

Greenback---Sounds like you have nice plans for tonight. Those energetic young people should put on a good show.

Lauriet---I've had your e-mail coming in while I came here. Will look at the pics when I leave here. Hope your tutoring goes well today.

Lakemom---Glad to hear you had a good weekend with John.

ATV--Hope today with Bradley goes well. I know it will. DGSs are such fun aren't they?

Connie----How often do you go to the Cottage? I'm afraid I would want to stay there all the time in the summer.

Lily---Sorry to hear it is so muggy and rainy there. What will you do for today. Is it still Wash Day?

I got the laundry caught up with the help of DH. I do have a load of throw rugs and some sheets to wash. Oh and I want to wash Charlie's two blankets before we take him home. One covers his bed and the other our loveseat, where he loves to sleep. Not allowed to sleep on the couch at home. It is leather and they are afraid it will be torn by his toenails.  Sad

So, I should get busy. Lots of Monday morning picking up to do. How do two people make such a mess?   BBL

I sent Laurie's pictures on to everyone in separate posts, hoping they would go faster. But they still took a long time. I'm sorry if it slowed up your computers.

Good morning ladies.  Ruth it looks like it will be hot and humid here again also.  We had some thunder and lightning last nite and a shower of rain.  Nothing like you had Jane.  We probably get the same paper Jane, from CR?  I also read the story about the two brothers.  Will be interesting to read about them in the next year.  Thanks for sending the pic Ruth, I remember that bridge well, been over it several times.  Fran, I did get the pictures, last nite, thanks for sending.  I think that crocheted hat is so cute, maybe she was just having a bad hair day and was totally upset about it.  She was born with a lot of hair!  The next one taken with her wearing it will be with a smile I bet!  Connie I hope the vet can prescribe just the meds your cat needs and it will be on the mend asap.  DGD starts her job at the pool today, first paying job for her, bet she will like that paycheck!  She stays so busy, I know she wishes she had a sister or brother but as much as she is involved in it takes Grandma, Grandpa, Mom and Dad busy getting her here and there to all she does.  Not sure how we would manage with anymore, lol.  I have to be content with just one GC, pretty sure we will not have any more.  Must get busy as I have a lot of chores I want to get done before picking DGD up at 11.  Everyone have a great day, bbl.

    Re: 07-07-08 Grannie Neighborhood

Good morning. It really got hot and humid yesterday. About 70 this morning and no wind. So to me it looks like another day just like yesterday. Didn't get  drop of rain. It keeps going south of us.

Have to go to doctor this morning. Not sure why he probably just wants some more blood. Then tomorrow I go to the other doctore and he will take out my stitches. Right now it looks like I have a zipper right up the middle. But it sure itches.

Jane what are of the twin cities does DD live. We are not close enough to anything to get any irrigation.

Lauriet got one of your pictues and it sure brings back memories. We used to get to Red Wing everyonce in a while.

Lakemam glad you had such a nice weekend.

ATV it's nice to get back to normal with Bradley getting the days started early.

Connie the stays at the cabins or cottages always go too wuick. When do you go back.

Lily our dirt isn't sandy it's plain old yellow clay and it you don't keep it watered it forms into a rock and that's it for the year. At least you heard a little thunder rumbling.

Well guess what I'm starting my walking today. Not very far and not very fast but it's a start. Albert is happy about it anyhow.

Hope eveyrone has a good day.

    Re: 07-07-08 Grannie Neighborhood

    Good morning.

A cloudy hot and humid day in store. YUCK.  It looks like rain but it all is going to far south of us again. I'm going to wait with the laundry and do it tomorrow. There is no breeze and so muggy that nothing would dry.

Last night I got bit by a nat and now have a flaming sore on my neck. OUCH, those little buggers sure burn me. I am keeping the Calamine lotion very handy.

Lily, our soil here is not sandy at all, it's just that terribly dry. It's been weeks since we got any rain. Thanks for sending the pictures from Laurie.

Thanks Laurie for taking the time to take the picures. They sure are nice.

Good grief, I forgot to take the doggy steps down this morning. Now Buddy is laying on the bed and barking at himself in the dresser mirror. OH my the noise.

Gotta make a trip to the store for milk this morning. This afternoon I hope to do somd dusting and vacuuming. Nothing exciting here. hehe

    ttyal, I've got to quiet a puppy.Hmm

Cooking lesson #2: keep the kitchen clean.... go out to eat!

    Re: 07-07-08 Grannie Neighborhood

Good morning to all this (hmm, have to figure out what kind of day it is) wonderful day.  (What more can I say...Big Smile)

Welcome, Rickshaw.  You are welcome to join our group.  Tell us some about you.  We are grannies, honorary grannies and grannies in training.  A very loving group of people here.  I, myself, come from south central PA, have a DH of 40 years, 2 DD, 1 DS, 4 DGD and 3 DGS.  Work full time and can't wait to retire one of these days.

Had some thunder last night after chat but it never did anything.  I think the storm was across the mountain.  It's 71 here right now and not sure what kind of day it will be.  Muggy, I think, because getting ready for work this morning made me glisten.  That is usually a sign.

Bonnie, I know what those zippers feel like.  Out of all my surgeries, getting the zipper out of the knee was the worst.  I would sit there and sharply inhale with each staple.  The nurse said, 'am I hurting you, do you want to take them out.'  Yeah right!  Told her just to keep doing it and to hurry up.  Hope your appt. goes well.

Going to a pampered chef party tonight.  Taking Sue along.  I saw on the the invitation that we were to wear red, white and blue.  I was just invited verbally and wasn't told about the r,w&b so I will surprise everyone and end up wearing it.

Not much happening here.  I already got my work done here.  Now will just wait till the mail goes (after lunch) and hopefully will get the attendance invoices that are remaining out.  I would be tickled to have them all here and done by the time Dotti returns tomorrow.

Oh I forgot, I take DM to the dr. in Pittsburgh tomorrow.  They are going to take stitches out.  The surgeon who did both her eyes had a nervous breakdown shortly after Christmas.  I'm not sure about that but that is my dianogsis.  She was doing so much and I think it finally got the best of her.  They say she may be back.  She sure was a personable dr.  I really like her.  The ones filling in are good but not as good as she is.  But it has been a while and no stitches taken out, where when she had the first one done, stitches were taken out almost every other week.  Hope that this will help the eye and that she can get a contact then.  We will be leaving Pittsburgh at rush hour.  Anyone want to meet me there and get me back onto the interstate.  I HATE city traffic.

Time for me to do something.  BBL.

Good Morning All.  No paper this AM so my morning is starting off wrong!  At least I have some coffee, bacon and a cinnamon roll to help.

Weather here is typical summer - hot!  mid 90's during the day and mid 70's at night.  The AC gets a real workout for the next few months.

Today is lunch with friends - one friend will be leaving tomorrow to fly to Idaho and work at the Nat'l parks again.  This is the 4th year they have done this.  She and her SO drove out the first of June for training but she flew back and will join him tomorrow and stay until the middle of September.

Had a busy day at the bookstore yesterday - 2 associaties decided not to come in to work so left us a bit shorthanded.  Made the day go a lot faster but not able to finish all the projects I had going since I had to help up front on the cash registers.

Need to make a stop at the library and pick up some more books to read.

    Enjoy your day!
