    sauce too salty

I made a recipe for spaghetti sauce and it was too salty for my taste. Is there a way to get rid of some of the salty taste?

I did not know this before --perhaps you don't know either.

Today I was in a restaurant with a friend. I had Clam Chowder and I commented, "This is too salty for me".
She said "Sprinkle in a bit of sugar and stir" "That will cut the salt and you will not taste the sugar".

It works. I put in only about 1/4 of one of those little sugar packets.

I agree, adding a little sugar will take some of the saltiness out of the sauce.

Can you just make a second batch, using no added salt & low-sodium items in it?  I once made a batch of chili that was EXTREMELY HOT...we couldn't eat it....so I made a 2nd batch with no seasonings & combine them.  That diluted the 'heat' - maybe that would work on your over-salted sauce.
