What's For Supper? Tuesday 7/8/08

Hello y'all, how are you doing today? I sure hope that everyone is doing well & feeling good!

Last week at the school DH was parked in his parking space & while he was in his office some student back out of their space next to him & crunched his fender & cracked the parking light. They never even left a note or anything. It sure would have been nice if there would have been a witness. The car isn't new, it is a 97 Buick, but he uses that one for work. The insurance man came to look at it today & told DH he would call it totalled cause it wouldn't be worth paying what it would cost to fix it up the way it should be. Oh well, at least nobody was hurt!!!!

Today for supper I think it will be:

Baked chicken & rice

Salad

DH will finish the blackberry ice cream.

Today we had beef quasidillas (sp?) from our Mexican Rest., It was soooo good!

Tonight I will just have a sandwich....

i am feeling  a lot better w/allergies so that is good! Just having the affects of meds now...I have been so sleepy this week! Anyway I hope that you have a great day!

A shame about the car, Patty.  Jet, that's always a hard call--are the allergies more annoying than the allergy medicines?

I baked Key Lime Pie last night, so that's what I want for dinner.  But I guess, I'll made some salami sandwiches first.

Bob ordered a pizza for lunch, gonna be no cooking here! Tonight we will probably just have sandwiches or a salad.

Hi, Patty and everyone. So sorry to hear about the car. It is hot here again today. A slight (very slight) chance of rain tomorrow and Thursday but only 20% so most likely we will be in the 80% who don't get rain. We surely could use some.

I have a roast in the crock pot today and it smells so good. We'll have mashed potatoes and gravy with it and a veggie - maybe broccoli. Your dinner sounds delicious!

Lady Fingers, I never had key lime pie, but it sounds good to me. I do love salami sadwiches, I can just eat a piece of salami & be happy.

Hi Chef, sorry to hear of all the fires & smoke, I wish I could blow it out for you!  I wouldn't want to cook either.

 It is 108 here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and so much smoke.  MISERABLE

    Today I'am gonna have  COLD  Shrimp Salads

    Hardboiled eggs,  sliced olives,  Asparagus,  and a nice Louie dressing.

       Sour Dough Rolls,

                                                 Dinner at 5:30 if you wanna join us.

Hi Joan, we could use a lot of rain too, i think yesterday we got about 10 drops enough to see it on the patio.

Roast beef sounds good that is what we are having tom. I took it out of the freezer today.

BTW, the blueberry ice cream is called Delta Blue, I hope you can find it soon. The blackberry was good but not as good as the blueberry.

Not too sure.  It's going to be really warm here today and somewhat muggy.  DH will be working late.  I may just do sandwiches or maybe chili macaroni. 

HI Patty, wasn't here yesterday, tried, but it wouldn't post.  Sorry about the car, but as you said, "at least no one was hurt."

Tonight for supper we're having (would you believe?) NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING!  We went out for breakfast, then for lunch and coffee time after that.  I'm so stuffed there is no room for anything else.  Wish I had room I'd be on my way to Lady Fingers for Key Lime pie, but she's safe!   DH on the other hand, will probably want a sandwich, and that he can make for himself.......Gram 

I always wonder how the people who cause damage to other's property & do NOT take responsibility for their actions would like to have that same lack of kindness shown to them...GGGRRRRR!    In any case, as you said Pretty Patty; what matters is that no one was hurt.

As for Dinner here in Icky & Sticky Land, I'll be grilling some Hot Dogs on the Indoor stovetop grill.  I was going to make some Bacon, Eggs and Toast this evening but I think I'll plan on that for tomorrow when it's suppose to be less humid.

Grilled Chicked for DH & Grilled Salmon for me.  Kroger has it on sale for $1.99 lb the truck made a miss delivery on the wrong week to the wrong store. Baked Potatoe for DH and Baked Sweet Potatoe for me. Large salad, French rolls and Brociflower (sp).

I have been messing around today!! I went to a new used book store in town.. WOW!! nice store.. a little high on their prices but not new prices and layed out sooo nice that I will go back!!! and I found 8 new books to read!!( I had great summer reading material and I left it all on the boat! oh well!! the new owner will enjoy them!)

Tonight I am fixing grilled lemon pepper chicken pizza...Very warm here today..and I don't want heat in the kitchen..(sometimes it pays to live in a small town... I have known the owners of the best local pizza place forever and they shared their "secret" recipe with me for the white sauce ...I am really excited about dinner tonight!!  topping is lemon pepper grilled chicken, fresh zuchini, red onion and cilantro.. and sprinkled with lemon pepper... topped with a mix of jack and mozzerela cheeses..I will let you know how it turns out on the grill! 

I had to make the pie!  It's the first time I've seen actual key limes in California.  I figured that if someone went to all the trouble to send them to us, we could at least use them for their intended purpose.

But that blueberry icecream sure sounds good.
