    ATTN: Lady Fingers

You said you'd made a Key Lime pie, just how in the world did you juice those limes?  Those things are sooo small, I tried once thinking to freeze the juice, I love lime in a Coke too, but gave up after a couple, it was just too much hard work......Gram  Smile

I used one of these, cutting the limes in half and squishing 2 or 3 at a time.

Thanks, since I don't have one of those, I guess I'm back to square one.......I have the old fashioned juicer from the 40's, but it sure didn't work well on those little limes.......Gram  Smile

That is an old fashioned juicer from the 40s.  It was my husband's grandmother's, then his mom's, then ours.  Actually, it just broke.  Not so that it's unusable, but a piece cracked--not surprising after half a century of use.  It was a very hard call for us.  We could have gotten one just like it on ebay, but it didn't look to be in very good condition, so we were concerned that it would be near the end of its days too.  So we ordered the modern equivalent, which should arrive next week:

I not only juice all kinds of citrus, I also use the juicer to squeeze out pineapple skins when we get a whole pineapple.

I guess mine is technically called a "reamer."  It is glass, two pieces, the bottom holds the juice and you use muscle power to "ream."  I do use it when we make lemonade, for the most part the seeds stay in the top, but to "ream" key limes was just too hard on the hands.........Gram  Smile

Yeah, that wouldn't work well for such tiny fruit.  That style never worked well for me because I'd have most of the pith in the cup by the time I conceded that I'd gotten all retrievable juice out!
