    • I wasted too much time goofing off on the web before I got on here so I am going to bed and will catch up in the morning!!

    • Hugs and prayers for all!!  Jeane it is great to see you back among us again!!

    • Thought for the Day- Life leaps like a geyser for those willing to drill through the rock of inertia.-Unknown

    • Today is National Sugar Cookie Day, a day to satisfy your sweet tooth. Popular with young kids, and old kids, sugar cookies usually don't last long around the house.

    • It's pretty easy to see how Sugar cookies came to get their own special day. Almost everyone has had them. Many people are hooked on them. Put out a plate of sugar cookies, and you can be certain they won't be there for long. We haven't seen any surveys, but it's a sure bet that sugar cookies are right up there with chocolate chip cookies as America's favorite cookie.

    • Spend a portion of the day baking sugar cookies. They are very easy to make. If you have kids, make today a real family holiday, and let them help with the baking. Homemade cookies taste best when you helped to bake them. Once you've baked the cookies, hurry and pop them into your mouth while they are still warm. They're mmmmmmmmm.... good!

    • Personally, I think this day should have waited to at least October as I can not imagine baking anything down here on the Gulf Coast in July!!   Maybe I will make a trip to the bakery and get some.  Jeane-maybe you can ship some to me this time instead of Shorty!!

    • Special hugs and prayers for Betty, Louise and Maury, Gat and Jeanette, Mabel and Floyd, Grace, Ruth, Helen, and Anne.

    • Remember the group prayer! “Heavenly Father, we ask that you watch over and care for all Cookin’ Seniors and those they love as they go about their day!!”

    Good Wednesday Morning,

Going to be another hot and muggy one... I hate to turn the air on so early. May have to if I want to breath. So humid..

    A big hi to all....

We got an Dr’s appointment yesterday for DH and on the way it started to rain so hard we could hardly see the car in front of us..

As we got to the parking lot the tornado sirens started going off so we didn’t wait it out in car like we thought we would. Only a few feet to door and we were drenched . At the office they had us all in the hall way to be safe.

No new news really on toe but found out I was doing the right thing on having him soak it, Dr just said keep it up...... DUH!!!! Gave us some more antibiotics.

Cilla I am hooked on the salt and pepper shrimp. Tried some the other day with cayenne pepper instead of regular pepper. Oh yummy.

I make just a few for me for an evening snack.

So many to say Hi to. A big group (((hug)))

    Love to all Sandy

A sleepy good morning to everyone.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. Somehow I think I would feel even better if I had all of you sitting around me with shovels, mallets and pepper spray. (grin)

ZORA~ when we had all this trouble before we had a "block" of unlisted (or blocked) numbers put on our phone. FYI: You can do that.

The problem has come when this brazen individual is using someone else's phone to do his calling. They actully know the name of the person who owns the phone and have shared that info with us. However he claims it was 'someone else' using his phone (that he left sitting on the bar Saturday night) Real smart!

I won't get into much of the details in case this sick person has followed me "online".

Trying to keep it upbeat from here on. I refuse to let someone control me in a negative way. I went through these feelings years ago when I was the victim of a horrible crime and will NOT let it paralize me again.

ROSIE~~~Were you able to take in the finally last night???  If so did you like the outcome. I really felt bad for the other chef but I'm sure there is a good job waiting even though it was 2nd place this time.

SANDY~~I have got to try that recipe. I usually get my fill at our local Chinese buffet and I love the idea of using the other pepper.

I'm really sorry that you're DH's toe is still causing so much grief. I cannot imagine how painful that is. Toe's always seem to throb more than any other owie.

MARGARET~~Thank you for letting us know about MERLE. Waving wildly to you MERLE!!!!  Sure do miss you and hope you get that straightened out soon.  Keep after TOH. They eventually helped me just to get rid of me. LOL

CONGRATS to MERLE on the new Great grandbaby! I'm anxiously awaiting my 6th grandchild any day.

Margaret~~have you been hanging out with the kiddos? Did you take in any fireworks?

NANCY B~~ The only thing that we have found to help are the ant traps. Also spraying around the foundation of the house to keep the ones out that haven't made it in.

JEANNE~~ I'm expecting sugar cookies from the bakery today. "smile"

DOREEN and NANCY Z~~ We need to find a good Bass Pro shop to meet at. We can sit by the fish tank with CILLA and chat.

BEVERLY~~Good luck with that tiny little "baby". I'm taking it that something happened to the mother that they took it into their care?

PAT~~YES! Let's meet again. Just say when, friend.

    GRACE~~Brrrrrr!

PAULA~~ For some reason your emails do not make it to me. I have found a couple in my recycle bin when cleaning it out.

CATS~~Just give me a slice of that pie and no one will get hurt. LOL

BETH~~Great to see you again. Glad you had a nice time with family and that the puter is behaving.

Time to go get the coffee on before my Prayer Partner gets here. This is the week that we take in the big Christian music festival and I will be spending a LOT of my time there. Tonight one of my favorite bands will be there and it's going to be a late one.

Take care everyone. You are all so special.

    ·         Good morning!

    ·         We had a fabulous second honeymoon yesterday walking the aisles of Sam’s.  Sighhhh he is such a romantic.  We did stop at a couple of caches that I was hopeful of being picturesque and I was right.  One even is haunted by the ghost of a Confederate soldier.

    ·         Being as I usually march to the beat of a different drummer, will chocolate chip cookies do today, Zora?  I’m like you, sugar cookies day should be during the holiday season.

    ·         Margaret, thanks for posting Merle’s email.  Enjoy the boys today, I know you will be doing something fun.  Thank you too for the anniversary wishes, he’s a good man.  I do like your action plan!

    ·         Merle, thanks for staying in touch with us as you can.  Take care of you, sorry you are still hurting.  Sending belly rubs and ear scratches to Lizajane.

    ·         Sandy, good news bad news on hubby’s toe huh?  Glad it is doing so well, but lets get it over with already.  Scarey stuff about the tornado, did it touch down anywhere?

    ·         Tippy, it sounds like you are keeping a level head and are stronger than your panic.  I admire you for that.  I did watch the finale and was a bit surprised by the outcome.  I like the chef chosen but thought the other would win Ramsey’s heart for the position.  Could you believe the nerve of Jen!!!  What a total arrogant !#$%@#!  Mattie I could just smack most of the time anyway, pouty little brat.  Sad that it is over…   enjoy your week of music and prayer, I think it came at just the right time for you.

    ·         Off to fill in the blanks left after the Sam’s run, then home to clean house (put things up out of Charlotte’s busy fingers reach), and make some more nanner bread and cookies.  Some time I have to think about Walt’s and my little trip next week and get thing organized for that.

    ·         Hugs and prayers for all, because YOU are loved.

    Me again,

DH back to sleep so I’m trying to be quiet. I always make so much noise usually he says. It seems like the noise from the keyboard is loud now LOL

Bebverly, I hope the gal has luck with the fawn but a very tricky thing. If they get used to humans then hard to release in wild. Some places won’t let you take in any wild animal. Say leave it to nature..

Nancy Z, you were talking about the smell of perfumes .

Well I have to buy unscented deodorants and unscented perfume or unscented powder. Sigh.. And no perfume .I use unscented soap for laundry. The smell affects DH so much. Sometimes in a restaurant if a gal comes in "drenched" with perfume it really affects him.

April, when did you say again your appointment with the specialist was? Will your hubby be going with you ?.. Wishing you lots of luck.

Cats boy that pie sound interesting.. Don’t have company much any more . Only kids and they are not big dessert eaters. Unfortunatly I end up eating it all and I sure don’t need that. Burp....

Beth, I also don’t know how to use a cell phone. Not at all. Too confusing to me. I have enough trouble with regular phone... GS tests like mad to his friends. For one who had trouble in English he sure can text.. LOL

Pat , I have taken a bit of crocheting with me at all times when we go to Dr’s or where we have to wait. I find it much more relaxing than reading the outdated magazines or covertly watching the other patients. Ha...

Penny,  good luck to your Daughter. A Dr once told me that one usually started menopause at the same age as their Mother or earlier.

Well try to be back later. Keep up all the pretty pictures all. I love them.

(((Hugs)))  Zora for putting up with us all..,.

    Sandy

    ---------------------------------

Light filtering into this room alternates between bright and dim as clouds shift for positions,  blurring the suns face. Coffee is good, morning quiet. Day will be slightly spoiled as I must pay bills.

A few folks here n' there misunderstood a small detail of my experience with the fawn my friend brought for me to cuddle. After re-reading what I wrote yesterday--I realized I did not write clearly. (shame on me) She brought the fawn for me to see, hold. She will be fostering him till he is old enough to release. My friend has milk goats so plenty of fresh milk for the little one. I have been in contact with a lady I met only once and she has graciously agreed to let this deer be released at her place as many wild deer come to her home for corn. No hunting within a mile of her place.

I have since learned a bit more about how my friend, Rory, acquired this fawn. Apparently some folks, unknown to her, were sitting on their front porch, sipping on coffee. They live out in the country where there is an oil lease. They noticed their Labrador coming home from across the field. Something was following her. At first they thought it was a Jack Rabbit. When the dog got closer to them they discerned a tiny fawn. This little fellow was wobbly and trailing his umbilical cord. Not knowing what to do and being aware that Rory did rescues--she was called.

Sandy--Yeah, we know. She and I both have tended wild deer in the past. Where he will be released will be around other wild deer that come up to eat out of buckets of corn held by the lady that owns the property. A wild Badger lives next to this womans clothes line pole and comes out of it's den when she calls. My friend, Rory, and I do a lot of rescue and have done so for many years. We work with Vet's and game wardens, etc.  Critters and their "proper" care and release are very important to us. Maybe, someday, I will tell of the wild, half grown fox I kept in my bathroom for 2 weeks!

Good afternoon from a cloudy Indiana, it's 79 out there, so not too bad.

Just got finished cleaning our bedroom & folding a load of jeans, would have hung them outside but it looked like rain.

DH in his shop, don't know what he's doing, he split wood yesterday for the wood burner this winter, he always has to get a jump on things.

Sandy...........wasn't that young when I went through it, so guess that doesn't hold true with this case, you just never know.  I've heard that too.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

A quick good morning as I'm off to Elgin again today to take my neice and her special needs DD to therapy.  DN is on pain meds due to a ruptured cyst on her ovary and can't drive.  DGD is going with again and will stay this time to help out.  While there I'll take DMIL to a visitation for a distant relative--haven't figured out just where in the family line.  I don't like her to drive and try and get there and prevent it if I can.  I'm sure that if she were younger that the DMV wouldn't have renewed her license due to her eyes.  Oh well, hopefully this fall she'll get someone with some more sense and will fail her.  She does willingly accept someone else driving, but won't ask for help.

It's a bit cooler and much drier here today, about 80, so I've turned off the a/c, but know that it will be back on by Fri.  Hate to see what the electric bill will be, but can't breath when it's so hot and humid so not much I can do.

Guess, I'd better go change clothes and head out,  talk at you later.  Pat

    Re: 07/09/08 CS's Chat

Back again, earlier than I thought I'd be.  Margie was running late again this morning,  (this is normal for her), so I am watching the boys here at my apt.

I guess yesterday was the day for Nintendo games, but mine is getting a workout today.  They are playing "Animal Crossing" which is a game where you have a town that is full of animal characters.  It's a fun game, and I have two towns, and can travel back and forth to each of them via a memory card.  It's a game for all ages.  I currently have two game systems, the latest being a Game Cube, and several games that I play occasionally.  I guess these video games have been in my family since my DS was still at home.  He bought the first Atari, where I enjoyed playing "Pac-Man".  Later came the nintento systems.  The main reason I learned was to be competition with my 2 younger DD's whenever they challenged me.  Then along came the kids I babysat, and my own grandkids.  All of them loved the fact that I played the games along with them.  I have not gotten used to the Wii yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if I received one of those for my birthday.  Sometimes I get embarassed if they mention in public that I play games, though.  LOL.

I probably won't have any cookies today, but Zachary has already asked me if I have some ice cream, so I'll probably have some of that.  I have some macademia and white chocolate chip cookie dough in the refrigerator, but won't bake while they are here.

I have Merle's working email if any of you want it.  Evidently when she asked for the pickle recipe, those of you who tried sending the recipe must have been using a different address.  Let me know if you want it, and I'll email it to you.

Tippy, I am so sorry you are having this problem with the phone calls again?  Do you think it is the same person as before.  Hugs and prayers for you.  I haven't heard anything about your brother for a while.  How is he doing?  Yes, I saw the fireworks at my youngest DD, Margie's house, and enjoyed the food.  We did not go to the city fireworks.

My youngest DB, Tom, who turned 59 on July 2nd has lost his job, after working there for over 20 years.  That's the thanks you get for doing a good job.  When you get a certain age, they don't want to keep you any more.  If you would, pray for him to find another job, soon.  His wife, Barbara has a lot of medical problems, and they really need insurance again.  I think they are only covered for a month or so longer.

Cilla, I wish your Dad a very happy birthday, and knowing you, I'm sure he will.  I hope he likes dogs.

     Yippee.gif picture by Mapanda

Hugs and Prayers for all of you and your family members.

Zora and Cilla, I have a panda in the bathtub too.  I guess all three of us have the same taste.  I will close with a Zelda tag though, since I talked about the Nintendo games earlier.  My oldest DD, Karla made this one for me.  I won't have many opportunities to use it.  It's Link, the hero of the game.

    Hi, CS.

Bradley needed a haircut, and we had a chance to get in for one at 8:30 am, so off we went. Been busy, ever since.

ZORA, I am with a few others, I like the sugar cookies around the holidays. But, I wouldn't say no to a big, soft Amish sugar cookie.

MARGARET, thanx for the relay from MERLE. Have fun with the kids. Bradley brought his SONY Playstation along, but I haven't tried it. When my own girls had Nintendo, I was very good at Tetris. Now, we have fun bowling on their Wii system.

SANDY, how com the downpours always come when we have to get out of the car or we are leaving a store? I can still wear cologne, but I use fragrant free detergent and other products, too. The only lotion on my hands that doesn't bother me is Jergens. I always have crocheting or knitting along when we go to the doctor's.

TIPPY, I think you discovered who that jerk is, and now his excuses will start. And, hopefully the calls will stop. You know, Cabela's is in Richfield, and that store is similar to Bass Pro Shop.

ROSIE, you march to a different drummer? you must be pulling our leg! Hug that romantic soul you live with.

BEVERLY, I knew what you meant about the fawn. But, I did figure out you did animal rescue and care.

CILLA, all I am saying to you is, Love the siggie.

PENNY, I think both our areas dodged the humidity, today. And, that's a good thing.

PAT, bet your family appreciates your driving help. And, I know what you are saying about DMIL, several of my church lady friends should not be driving. I try to help them, when I can.

Hugs and prayers for all CS.

    Nancy Z.

    Hi everybody!

Yep I am still alive and kicking. Just not very high. I have been working on all the moldings around the windows and doors. Have three more to do. Just got back from a lumber run this morning and taking a little break.

Sounds like (from some of todays posts) that I have missed a lot on the CS. Will have to go back if I have time and check you all out. But hugs to you all and hope all is soon good with you all.

This puter and board have been so slow for me lately I just don’t have the patience to sit here and wait and wait and wait. Just been checking my e-mails and running on with my day.

    Soooooo onward and upward!!!!!!

Hey, Everyone!  Hope y'all are have a great day.  Sure is hot here again today.  To the north of us sure looks like another storm brewing.  I don't mind a good rain but everytime lately we get lots and lots of thunder, lightning, heavy winds, power outages and the list goes on.

Sugar Cookies - with icing - yummmmmmmmmmm.  Not thick icing,  just a glaze.

Ran a few errands today to Michael's, WalMart, the credit union, and my nail appt.  Then had lunch with my sisterfriend at Dairy Queen.  Now I'm ready for a nap but really need to start supper.  Not much else going on today.  Going to take life easy after supper tonight.  Y'all have a great evening.  Hugs and Prayers for All, Roberta :D
