Good morning.   How is everyone today?  I'm off today, have chiro appt then will go to the grocery store then home.  Another hot humid day ahead then supposed to be cooler tomorrow.  We'll see.   Making corn and not sure what else for dinner.   Need to go check out my eggplant, I'll have some soon.  B-berries are definitely dropping off, but there are still enough to enjoy everyday.   Raspberries are still going.   Have frozen some of those.

Margie what did James bring you all for breakfast?  Have fun at your niece's b-day party.

Kathleen, how is dance class going?

HI to everyone else.  Hope you all have a great day.

    Good Morning june friends.........Coffee

I got Dh off to work awhile ago and got a few things done and laid back down for awhile and now have laundry going and I have some cleaning to do this AM as well.

Today there is a chance of thunderstorms and showers off and on today and temp in the low 80*s and humid.

Dh's boss wanted Dh and the rest to start earlier and then got off earlier in the afternoon since is has been so humid. So -- He should be home by 2:00.

Dh worked on his bosses' laptop yesterday evening --  He's not sure if it has a virus or not  ...just seems to be doing weird things. LOL... I know nothing about it...I'm not that computer literate. LOL....

Margie~ The boys are growing like weeds - LOL.. They both are going to pre-school this Fall. They don't seem like they should be old enough yet. Sad

**Waving* to all of the june laides ~~~ Have a great day.  DebSmile

    Happy Wednesday!

    Good Morning June Friends!

Looks like a nice day today.  Maybe we'll get the lawn mowed.

I am doing my usual Wed. chore of bedding, ours is in washer and I've got the bed all remade already.  Will do the boys after they get up.

I am having chicken for supper.  Not sure yet how I'm going to fix it.  It is a pkg of the thigh/leg pieces.  Any suggestions?  I don't want to start the oven, so I'm thinking of either crockpot or on the grill.

Yesterday I did do my mixed berry (strawberries, blueberries, red and black raspberries). I did 2 batches and I got 16 jars.  I want to do another couple batches.  That one sold pretty good.

Watching for peaches to be on sale so I can do some of that jam too.

    Have a great day!

    Kim!

I just remembered you were asking about the Frog Eye Salad.  Here is the recipe.

Kathlee (rosiepie) posted it back in March.

Frog-eye salad is similar to ambrosia.  I got the recipe off the BB a few years ago.  Here is the recipe:

     FROG EYE SALAD

    1 1/3 C Acini de pepe pasta - uncooked

1 can (15 oz) pineapple tidbits , drained, but reserve 1/4 c juice

    1 3/4 c milk

    1/4 c sugar

1 small box instant vanilla pudding

    2 c cool whip

    3 c mini marshmallows

    1 can crushed pineapple, drained

    2 cans mandarin oranges, drained

    1/2 c coconut

1/2 c maraschino cherries (optional) , drained and cut in half - I don't use these

    1. cook pasta in boiling water as directed on package, drain, rinse with cold water

     2. while pasta is cooking, in a large bowl combine pudding, reserved juice, sugar and milk.  Beat for 2 mins until it starts to set

    3. Gently fold in pasta and rest of ingredients with the cool whip as last.  Cover and refrigerate at least 5 hours.

***the acini de pepe is little round pasta and it is what makes the little "froggie eyes"

    Happy Fall !

SpringWreathHello.gif picture by laurasnagsand good morning June friends!

Partly cloudy, warm & humid here this AM; had storms yesterday afternoon & evening with lots of rain. High today to be only around 80º with chance of showers/storms again later.

Ballgame was cancelled because of the rain, and tonight they have a double-header (it was already scheduled that way), but there have been some changes since Monday; 1-1/2 hr. game limit and 6 runs per inning limit, so we should be done by 9 at the latest. THEY must have had upset parents too!!
Today I'm washing sheets, and need to dust & sweep in my bedroom. I've been asked to make a cake for next weekend; my best friend's DD is a cheerleader at the HS here, and they are giving their coach a baby shower, so need to figure out what I'll need for that & make a list.

Margie, you've been a busy bee already this AM, hope you enjoyed your breakfast!! Allergies have not really bothered me since Sunday, thanks! Happy Birthday to your g'niece!!!

LindaC, waving hi, nice to 'see' you here! Hope you don't get too much rain; have fun with your DGS!!

Jill, sorry about the late appt. yesterday, but nice you got to eat out!! Hope you enjoy your day off!!

Deb, hope DH can figure out the laptop; I know nothing about them either, LOL! Nice DH will get off early - enjoy your day!!

{{{{Cherie}}}} sorry you did not get much sleep, hope your day goes well & you can get to bed early tonight. Hope Kate's appt. goes well.

Patti, loved your pics, thanks again for sharing with us!! Mmmm, jam sound yummy & the jars look so pretty!

Need to run; waving hi to all the Junes, hope you have a good day! hugs,

Margie, what did James bring you for breakfast? I do see your point about Corey, but maybe it will all work out. At least she picked somebody with nice parents!!!

Deb, one time when Gregg had his computer repair business going, the pastor had gotten a computer at a yard sale on APril Fools Day. Never do that (LOL). It had a virus on it and when Gregg hooked up the hard drive to our computer to check it out, we got it too. THat was not fun! Hope your DH is able to figure it out. I don't supposed you  know any genealogy links to teh WV area. One of my family's long time friends asked me about one of her friends DH who was evidently raised in Parkersburg at the turn of the century. I haven't found a lot of info. Need to try to figure out how to get ahold of my cousin SHeila. SHe is the one who would know. But not sure I have her address any more. Her mom is around but not very well after that horrible car crash she had when she had a stroke while she was driving.

    Jill, berries always sound good.

Patti, your canning always looks good. I still have some of the 4 berry preserves I made last year and it is yummy. Your jars look just like mine. I gave several jars of it away last year. Hope you can find some peaches soon. Keep the pictures coming. I love to see them.

Lisa, good that they changed some rules for people. I couldn't have done that if it was one of my 3:30 getting up days or else I would have been a zombie at work the next day (LOL).

    Waving hi to LindaChicken.

I am horrible. I already forgot what somebody who posted said. I am so sorry. Dog woke me up early, but too late to go back to sleep, so just got up

I am working at hospital today so not sure if I will be on later or not. Depends on whether or not I get off on time or near on time. Because I also have to work there tomorrow.

THere is a possibility I might not be able to get on tomorrow morning or Friday morning. Will just have to wait and see. I had a cable payment that crossed in the mail and they sent a disconnect notice for today and I don't get paid until tomorrow so nothing I can do but wait and see. If I can get on in the morning, I will pay them online early in the morning. If not, I will have to go to cable place on Friday afternoon. SO if I come up missing in action, you will know what is wrong! Hopefully since they were already paid a couple weeks ago for what crossed in the mail, I will be ok, but will just have to wait and see. If I wasn't working at hospital  tomorrowm could fix it tomorrow afternoon.

I really like the church kitchen (except no traditional range. WE already had a frig in it (the Gregg and I bought 3 years ago and then after he died I fot the bigger one. I gave that one to the pastor and his wife when theirs died and then they got a bigger one and so it ended up at the church (which is fine). The contractor painted that room and then put a set of cabinets in that one of his clients had given him after he installed new ones at their house. It used to be a junk room. It looks so much better all cleaned up. There is also a microwave. They put the coffee stuff in there so it doesn't clutter up the auditorium. It has a really nice window and a nice view of the front yard. So it used to be a bedroom, but it makes a really nice kitchen, too. Not sure if he can ever rewire the wiring to be 220 and get an electric range or not, but we don't really need it with the microwave. Could always use crockpots and electric skillets, but we don't usually have potlucks and things at the church. Usually those are held at somebodys house, somebody with a big house, usually the pastor. All we ever have at church is the desserts on Tuesday night with coffee and donuts and coffee on Sunday morning. Love the view from the window. That church has both enormous front yard and enormous back yard. Lots and lots of room to expand if we ever wanted to.

Weather has been slightly cooler, but more humid. Monsoony weather, but locusts still aren't out and lots of dust stormy type things. No real rain in this area yet. It was blowing pretty good at church last night. They are in a heavier rain area than we are.

Hope you all have a wonderful day. I might be able to address you all later. Right now have to fold a load of laundry (uniforms) from last night before they get all wrinkled up. Then I have to make my lunch and think about something to eat. Just taking a frozen dinner and an apple. Might make some tuna salad for tomorrow. We'll see how later I get off.

Oops, went to post my siggie and then realized I had copied and pasted the frog eye salad recipe so lost the stuff for my siggie and don't feel like going back to photobucket and getting it. Lisa. I loved your purple roses and your hello siggie.

Good Morning ladie. hope everyone is doing well thisWednesday morning. Boy is it going to be a hot one today. it's alrady uncomortable outside and it's only 8:30. On days like this I really don't have much ambition but we'll see what I can do.

Having a good day so far doing my usual morning routine. DH went off to work. Today is one yesr ago that he started this job. I watered outside plants and just finished breakfast. i have a load of laundry in the machine. I plan on keeping the house closed up today to keep it cooler. Supper for tonight will be meatloaf, garlic mashed potatoes and a salad.

Re: June Cleaver Club Wednesday 7/9/08

    Good Morning All!!

Today Dylan and I will finish up the laundry.  He's not quite able to do it alone like his sister.  He can't get the clothes out of the washer.  Not quite big enough yet.  So I hand them to him and he puts them into the dryer.  He also takes them out of the dryer. I put them on the hangers as he can't reach the hook we use while sorting and folding.  Today he'll learn about folding jammies, undies, socks and all dresser clothing.  I will continue plugging along at general housework.  Need to strip Caitlyn's bed and put her new allergen proof mattress cover on.  I've noticed a big difference in Dylan's morning allergies since replacing his old ripped one.  Dinner will probably be some kind of pork chops.  There are about 6 different ways I do them up, so it is always hard to choose.  I guess the one way I won't be doing them is the cashew recipe.  Still having a problem occasionally if I eat something on the DO NOT eat list.  I go in on July 30 for a colonoscopy consult.  They'll explain the procedure and schedule my appointment.  I'm going to tell them I can't do it until September.  That way the kids will be back in school and my trip will be behind me.

Margie, you have been a busy June this morning.  How was your breakfast?  Have fun at your niece's birthday.

Deb, it's amazing how fast kids grow.  Your DH's boss is smart for adjusting the start and end times for the weather.  Better chance of employees staying healthy.

Cherie, what an early day for you.  Hope it goes well.  I hope Kate's baby isn't shy.  It took my DD till the last ultrasound (one month before she was born) to verify that she was in fact a girl.  I knew the day I found out I was pregnant I was having a girl.  It was just a feeling I had.  Good thing too, as we could not come up with a boy name.

Patti, your jam sound good.  I just love the look of homemade jams in the pretty jars.  Thanks for the Frog Eye Salad recipe.  It sounds delicious.  I will see if the kids and Joe are at all interested in it.  I unfortuneately can't eat it as I am allergic to pineapple.

Lisa, I'm surprised that the time limits weren't in place for the games from the get go.  Every team I've been exposed to recently (my kids don't play but my friends' kids do) have limits in place to avoid situations like the one you just experienced.  Hope your weather levels out and dries out some.

Jill, going to the chiro for a regular adjustment or did you hurt yourself?  Either way, hope it goes well and you feel better afterwards.

Sherry, whenever I've had a prolem paying my cable bill, I call and give them a date of intent to pay.  They have ALWAYS changed the disconnect date for 1 day past the date I give them.  It helps me avoid having to pay the $250 re-connect fee.  Sounds like you will be busy the next few days.

Denise, hope you can keep cooler today.

Well that's about all.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday All.  If there is anyone I missed, and to those of you who come on after me, take it easy if you are not feeling well or are overly hot, be careful on the roads if travel is a must and enjoy your kids if they are on summer break.

     Kim

If the kids are still alive at the end of the day, then I've done my job.

    Good Morning Girls,

It's just about time for me to get Jason up for school.  So far he is having a good time in his new class.  It is difficult though, having him settle down for homework in the afternoon with the other two boys not being in the "school mode" at all.

Patti, thanks for the pictures!  Your yard is so nice - remind us again of the veggies you have planted.  Also, would you mind sharing your jam recipe - I have some frozen strawberries,  raspberries and blueberries that I would like to mix and make jam with.  Any suggestions?  I have a Ball Blue Book of Canning, but loaned it out and never got it back - grrrrr!!

Deb, nice that Terry gets off work so early!  I wish Ray was home earlier - I never know when to expect him and lately with this heat he has been working late doing a/c jobs (he is a plumber).

Jill, thanks for asking about the dance class.  We have our second class this morning.  It is NOT at all like I expected.  The whole first lesson we didn't dance to music at all - just learned the counting and how to do moves on a certain count.  I have never taken a dance class before so I was surprised and a little disappointed.  I thought it would be more like jazzercise. I am going to stick it out though, I signed up for at least a month.

Tonight for dinner is italian sausage and peppers and pasta.  yesterday I cleaned out all the garden tomatoes from last year that I froze and made spaghetti sauce with them.  It came out fantastic!!  So that is what I will use on the pasta today.  I will make a tossed salad to go with too.

Kim, I am sorry you are having stomach 'issues" lately - no fun at all.  Hope you feel better soon.  Nice that you are teaching ds how to do laundry.  I think it is so important for kids to have chores - not always fun getting them to DO them, but that's another story!!  LOL

Well, I better get going - time to get J up for school.  I will check back in later today.  Have a great day, girls!!

    Kathleen

      1/4 Cup Soysauce

    1/2 C. Vegetable oil

Grill until chicken is tender & no longer pink inside

4-6 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves

1 small box Stove Top Stuffing mix for chicken, (dry mix only)

10 oz. pkg. chopped broccoli, thawed

1 can broccoli with cheese soup (or any cream soup)

1/2 cup chicken broth, use either homemade or out of a can

Lightly butter a 3-1/2 quart crockpot and place the chicken in the

bottom. Mix together the remaining ingredients and place on top of

chicken. Cover and cook on low 6-7 hours.

    Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Thighs

    1 large shallot, finely chopped

    2 Tbls red-wine vinegar

    2 Tbls reduced-sodium soy sauce

2 tsp chopped fresh thyme or 1/2 tsp dried

Combine the shallot, vinegar, soy sauce and thyme in a zip-close plastic bag; add the chicken. Squeeze out the air and seal the bag; turn to coat chicken. Refrigerate, turning the bag occasionally, at least 1 hour or up to overnight.

Spray the grill rack with nonstick spray; prepare the grill for a medium-hot fire using the direct method.

Lift the chicken from the marinade and pat dry with paper towels. Discard the marinade. Wrap each chicken thigh with 2 slices of the bacon. Place on the grill rack, cover the grill, and grill until the bacon is crisp and the chicken is cooked through, 6-7 minutes on each side.

    1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

    1 tsp salt

    1/4 tsp black pepper
