    Hi apple- enjoy the cool!

How about I rustle us up some breakfast?  I'll brew a big pot of coffee, pour some cranberry juice, and offer up some scrambled eggs and toast.  Join me?

A friend of mine is having an in-home sales by "Party Lite" this afternoon, followed by time in her pool.  I'll see a lot of friends from school, and enjoy the sunshine and water.  Oh, I'll probably have to buy some of the candles at the party too!

Betty the cat is feeling a bit better today.  She was quite the snugglepuss last night.  Hope you all have a great day.

Good mornng apple and connie!  I have been up since 3, I could use another Coffee!!  Thanks so much connie.  I have had a piece of peanut butter toast so not really hungry at the moment, maybe later tho.  I was up early to make coffee and pack a sandwich for DH who left about 3:45 with his fishing partner for today.  Just a one day tournament on the Mississippi out of Guttenberg.  He belongs to a small bass club, they are all just about fun and not winning altho winning is nice too.  It was very cool when we got up, I shut the doors and windows and put on a warmer robe.  Todays forecast is for cooler drier air, my kind of weather.  I will go to WM today after a few things.  I also need to make some more layouts for the digi frame the kids gave me.  That will be my fun thing for the day.  Happy to read your cat is feeling better today connie.  Enjoy the pool party.  BBL    MarciaSmile

Good Morning Ladies  - It's a beautiful morning, and such nice air!  It's enjoy today, and then back to high heat and humidity.

Breakfast looks and sounds great this moring, Connie.  The only thing better would be if you were serving on the deck of that lovely cottage.  How fun that would be - It looks lovely and I'm so glad that it's close enough that you can enjoy it often.

You were some chattie ladies last night.  It was good to see Pat stop by, and I hope the berry picking go's well today, Pat.

Stylist, sorry to hear about your return visit to the hospital.  Not the way to end such a great weekend, but glad you got checked out. Sounds like it was a great reunion time for you.

Lily, you asked if the group that I went to see was a state chior - - They use to be refered to as the State Fair Singers, and now are known as Celebration Iowa Singers and Jazz Band.

Now, I'm trying to remember what else it was that I wanted to comment on from last night, and can't remember.

CJ, have you heard from the kids since they returned home?

Seeing the talk about Lima makes me lonesome for our Red Wing meet - - - Is there any real interest in that this year, or is everyone just waiting for someone else to set the date?  Are you thinking of a get together yet, or waiting till fall, or what is on everyone's mind?

     Good Morning...

Still a humid morning but drier air is on the way for later in the day.  Very sunny now.

DH is getting ready for his week long bike ride starting on Sunday.  He's been packing and repacking to make everything fit.

I'm getting anxious for our Lima meet in Sept.  Always a fun time.  I still need to find what I will wear for my "evening gown".

It was nice to see Bluespruce stop in last night.  We have really missed her and hope she comes back real soon.

I posted the Hunter Style Chicken on a separate thread for those who want to check it out.  Easy and delicious.

Marcia...my DH eats peanut butter toast EVERY morning.  I like it too, but don't eat it every day.

Connie...glad your Betty is feeling better.  Enjoy the party today.

Applek...nice to have little apple to help out today.  I'm sure she will enjoy it.

Greenback...I got a text message from DS when they got back to their condo.  It was kind of late, so he probably didn't want to call in case I was in bed....but he should know me...I was waiting to hear...LOL  DDIL already emailed me all the pics she took while she was here.  She takes good pics.

Heading out with my coffee to enjoy the morning............BBL

Good morning Grannies, it's a beauty here and is to be 80-a nice break in the heat.  Marcia, where are you from?  We weren't too far from Guttenburg when we lived in WI.  I have to tutor in a bit, so I am going to go in soon, go until noon today.  I'll see you later, have a Sonny day!

    Good morning everyone!

Gee, I was shocked to see the amount of chat last night, and I missed it AGAIN.  But we were on our way home from Pittsburgh yesterday.  We had stopped in a small town so DM could visit with her aunt in a nursing home there...well I get a phone call from DD that she is in severe pain.  Told her to call the dr.  He sent her to the hospital so when DM and I got home I went straight to the hospital.  I took DSIL and DGC out for something to eat and then back to the hospital.  I finally sent him home with the kids as he has to get up early for work and he gets very nervous/antsy at the hospitals.  Anyway, she has an ovarian cyst and has to take it easy till Monday.  They are thinking that it will dissolve but if it is reoccuring will probably have surgery.  We or I didn't get home till 12:30.  That was the end of my fun-filled day.....NOT.

Looks dreary out, like it could rain at any time.  Have to wait till I get to work to check out the weather.  Guess I'd better go, I'll check out last night when I get to work.  BBL.

Goodmorning grannies. A cloudy one today and some showers on the way. What a noisy bunch chatting last nigh! No wonder I couldn't get another word in! Couldn't get the reply page :( So I went to bed with my book and full tummy. Some asked what I had to eat last night...CRS! Can't remember the name but it was chicken breast/shrimp a cheese sauce. Sauteed onion. peppers and tomato and rice. Very good and friends really enjoyed their dinner.

Good morning. It's a beautiful morning here. I don't know how long it will last but for right now it sure is nice out. The neighbor is painting his house and it's fun to watch him. Gary went fishing early this morning and tried to be quiet but you know how that goes. You can only be so quiet that time of the day.

Apple it will be nice to have a good helper in that big house. At least for once you have AC

Connie having to buy a few candles is a small price to pay for an afternoon of friends and a pool. Enjoy. Glad Betty is wanting to snuggle.

Marcia I'm just glad my DH didn't want to leave as early as your's did. Does he fish large or small mouth. Cooler drier air is always welcome.

Jane we just have to enjoy the nicer weather when we can. The HHH just keeps coming back this time of the year.

Cjayh that swing sounds awfully nice this morning. Glad DS and DDIL let you know that they got home safely.

Lauriet at least it sounds like a short day of tutoring to day. By noon it should still be nice.

Wanda such a nice welcome home....NOT.  Hope it dissolves and that's the end of it. We sure could use a little of your rain.

Grammy did you change your mission day or is this just for the summer.

Looks like Albert is starting to wait for me again. I've started my walking again. Not quite as long and a little slower but it will get back to where I was before surgery soon.

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Prayers and hugs for all.

    Good morning

A cool, 57, sunny, no breeze and heading to 83 today. Not too bad so far though. A load of white clothes are in the washer and breakfast is done. Still have to make the bed, wash up and get dressed. I'm not moving real fast this morning.

Apple glad you have some good help this morning. Smile hope it all goes well too.

Connie, some scrambled eggs and toast would be just great, thanks. I haven't been to a Party Lite party in years. Not sure many are around here anymore. Such pretty things too. Have fun.

Marcia, I pack DH a lunch every night too. I don't allow myself enough time to do it in the morning and in the summer, I want to sleep in a bit. heheheh I hope your DH has a good time and catches the trophy fish.

YEP, JANE, one more nice day and then back into the sauna. I chatted with DS last night, he is somewhere in  Iowa and he said the humidity is still just awful, his words were, "unbearable". He'll be coming home around midnight tonight and will get socked in MN too. hehe

CJ, yep we need to hear if our kids get home safely no matter what the time. It's so nice when they remember to let us know. Glad they made it home safely too.

Lauriet, I hope that tutoring goes well today. How was the fish supper last night? Got any extra? hehe

WANDA, will add your DD to my prayers. You must be worn out already, take care of yourself too.

GRAMMY, take it easy in the h and h. I hope you get a care package from the mission today. I just heard on the radio that the food shelters are way down in the area and demand is even higher. I would imagine missions are busier too. Prices are really hurting people.

Alby, I happy to hear that you are up to some walking again, that's good news. Albery will be happy to get back into his routine too.  I hope Gary does great fishing today. No mishaps thism morning? hehe

Ok, time to finsih a few things around here and start a few more.

    Have a wonderful day all.

Good Morning. It is going to be low humidity day today, but possibility of t-storms later tonight and Thurs/Fri. Just can't get that rain to go elsewhere! Calif would be good, they can use it all! I will be mowing the hayfield today.  This rain should makes it grow fast. And all the clover in the lawn is blooming, so it is colorful, too.

    Have a good day Apple.

Connie, breakfast sounds good. Love scrambled eggs.

Marcia, have a fun day all alone.  A warm robe feels good early in the mornings almost all the time. I'm still wearing my heavy robe every morning.

Jane, I just think a Northern meet is off for us this year, mainly due to gas prices. And our "transportation" doesn't get home until Saturdays anymore, either.

CJ, guess I'm so used to folks being gone, I'd never expect to hear someone to call and say they were back home.

Laurie, Marcia is near Cedar Falls.

Wanda, you certainly had a full day yesterday. Sorry to hear about your DD.

Grammy, I figured Miss Smarty was being "smart" last evening. Have a good day today.

Alby, hope Gary has a super day. He deserves one this week!!

I'm like Pat mentioned "retired" and don't have to get up early - EXCEPT - I have to get to the GN for breakfast before everything is gone.  LOL

    Re: <Grannie Neighborhood> 7-9

Good morning, ladies.  Didn't get here yesterday, still wasn't feeling very well and lots of interruptions to my personal time at work!  I'm feeling much better today.  Went to the doctor yesterday about my blood pressure and wouldn't you know it, on my way there, I started feeling so much better.  It was low at his office and my heart was very calm.  Maybe my heart and BP is just getting used to very little medicine.  After tomorrow it will have to go without and then I guess we will see.  I appreciate all your prayers, advice and humor.

Apple, it will be nice working in the cool AC and with your DGD.

Connie, a wonderful idea for one of those in-home parties.  I never thought about having one in the afternoon and poolside in the summer.  That would be one I wouldn't mind being invited to.

Marcia, you were up very early!  Nice of you to see your DH off to catch the big one.
Good morning, Greenback, did you get your morning paper?

Cjay, I'm like you, always like to know when the kids get home safe.  I would love to see pictures of the visit.

Justme, you really are an example of the sandwich generation that I hear about--in between caring for your DM and your DD.  They are both lucky to have you.  Prayers for your  family.

Good morning, Laurie.  Do you tutor students in any one particular subject?

Grammy, another mission day.  What's on the menu today?  Your meal last night sounds yummy.

Alby, I bet you enjoy walking again.  I know I'm back up to about two miles (sometimes a little more), and it just means so much to be able to do that again.  You're smart to get it done in the morning.  I have to wait until evenings after work and lately with all the HHH, it's been close to dark when I walk.

Good morning, MAMA, even you don't think so, it sounds like you've already been busy this morning.

Hi, Lily, mowing the hay field, but not to bale, right?  LOL

We got another half inch of rain here in central MO last night.  Garden is really shaping up to be the best we've ever had.  Tomato vines are LOADED and they all look like they will ripen at the same time.  Guess I'll be learning to  can.  DH wants canned tomatoes and some tomato juice.  He has high BP and can't drink the commercial tomato juice because it has so much sodium.  Zucchini and cucumber plants are being very prolific, too.  I need to learn how to make pickles, too.  DH is supposed to call his DM and have her e-mail her recipe.  He knows she kept the cucumbers in brine in a five-gallon crock with a plate on top of it before she canned them.  That's all he remembers, but said they were the best.  Lily, I made Pineapple Zucchini bread night before last and brought some into work today.  Last night, I made Zucchini yeast bread with raisins and whole wheat  flour.  We were going to have some for toast this morning, but were running too late, so we'll try that tomorrow.

Have a blessed day everyone.  I'm going to go back and read yesterday's posts now.  I see I missed Pat's birthday--I'm sorry Pat and I hope you had a wonderful day.  It's good to hear that you've been back to visit the GN.

     Goooood Morning, Grannies!!

a Cool day, with the stiff breeze blowing. But it should warm up later.

Apple, Glad you could make it back today. It is nice that Little Apple will help you today.

Connie, I see there is a little breakfast left. Thanks. Enjoy the party and the candles.

Marcia, It sounds like a fun day for you. We were going to get up early and go fishing too. But it is quite windy so we just cuddled in the covers and enjoyed the breeze coming in the window.

Jane, I would love to do a get together. If a different place will work better for others that is fine with me.  I sure did miss doing that.

Cjayh, Glad the kids made it back safely. For something like that it is never too late to call a waiting mom. Smile  Moms sleep much better after they hear from the traveling kids.

Lauriet, Waving as you pass through.

Justme, That was a long day and sure didn't end with good stuff. I"ll pray that DD can get by without the surgery.

Grammy, You are an on the go grannie, these days. That is good!!

Alby, It is nice that you have Albert there to encourage you do to your walk. Maybe he should come and stay here for awhile. I hope Gary has good luck fishing.

Mamma, Start only small projects today.

Lily, I mowed the lawn yesterday. It looks nice this morning. Too bad it doesn't stay that way.

Debbie, It is good to hear you are feeling better. Your tomatoes are ahead of ours. We only have a couple on so far, but lots of blossoms.

Pat, It was nice to see my younger twin back last night. What are you going to do with the strawberries, Jam? Shortcake? freeze them??

We went to Fleet this morning. After I get time wasted on here I will do quilts, here and at church. Then chime practice and  trip to D&B.

    Everyone have a great day.

    Re: <Grannie Neighborhood> 7-9

Good morning, it's a nice morning.  We had hard rain late last evening and they say a possibility of more rain this a.m. but so far, it's not looking like any will come. We have the DGC and we just finished playing Wii.  Anyone familiar with that game? bet many of you are.

GRAM  Did you buy anything at Fleet this a.m.? have fun quilting.

DEBBIE  I'm glad all turned out ok at the Dr. office. Yes, that's the way it goes. Once we're on our way, we feel better.  Our tickers can scare us!!

LILY  I got a chuckle about your colorful lawn.  I actually think dandelions are pretty! and I'd like to know who decided they weren't useful, afterall, they can be eaten.

MAMMA  Things aren't moving quickly here either but then, when the DGC are here, that's a norm.

ALBY  It's great to hear that you're doing well and the routine will be starting.  You're a tough woman! keep it up!  it's amazing what a loving DH can/will do to encourage us.

GRAMMY  Whatever your dinner lastnight was called, it sounds very good and tasty to me.  Have a good day and take time to rest after the Mission work.

JUSTME  Wow! so sorry about your DD and the pain she was having.  I hope the cyst does dissolve and that'll be the end of it.  You take care and I hope today will end up better for you than yesterday.

CJ  I'm also thinking about an evening gown for Lima. The time will be here soon and now that my company is gone and hopefully things will slow down, I can also finish my quilt.

GREENBACK  You're certainly welcome to join the Eastern grannies at Lima, Oh.  We'd love to have you and any others that would want to come.  We have an absolute ball! we definitely don't act like grannies.  LOL

MN  Now your peanut butter toast sounds so good!!! but the 3:00, I'll be glad to let you have that to yourself.  LOL  Have a great day and I hope you get in a nice nap.

CONNIE  Wow!  a wonderful afternoon planned for you!!  I'm sure you'll enjoy it and don't forget to get a nice smelling candle.

APPLE  Now won't it be interesting to have Little Apple working with her DGM today.  I'm sure it'll be fun.

The DGC will leave around noon.  I'm not sure what I'll be doing. I'm still on the tired side but need to keep moving.  My BP and heart rate are low and I think that accounts for the tiredness somewhat.  Next week I will be hooked up to the Holter Monitor for 24 hrs. then see the cardioligist the following week.  I'm anxious to get this all over!!!

    Re: <Grannie Neighborhood> 7-9

    Good morning, grannies.

Always cool mornings on the way to a hot day.

KATHIE, glad you could get into the neighborhood, today. Hope the sale goes well, and it should be fun with the helper you have.

Nice day planned, CONNIE. Nice that Betty is showing wellness signs.

MARCIA, I was up at the same time, but my cause was from a low blood sugar. Hope the fishing goes well for DH. Our neighbor has a place on the Mississippi, in Genoa, WI I think, and he does fishing contests on the river, too.

JANE, I guess most of us missed the Red Wing meeting. Maybe something can be planned yet.

CJAY, good the kids thought to let you know when they arrived home. Bet the pics are nice, too.

LAURIET, no running, today? glad you slowed down. Now, you are getting into the grannie thing.

WANDA, sorry DD has a problem. And, you will surely need a good rest this afternoon and evening.

Bet GRAMMY is at the mission, already. Her day is all planned out.

ALBY, bet the bass are just jumping for Gary's lure. Now, that's relaxing----watching someone else paint and then watching the paint dry.

MAMMA, at least the washer can work while we get up more energy. Are you still humming that song?

LILY, we have some clover in the lawn, too. No rain expected here, but hot and showers for our picnic on Sat. Hope the forecast changes. Careful out in the sun while you are mowing.

I started this early this morning, then had a chance to get Bradley's hair trimmed. So, off we went. Now, the neighbor just called and we talked quite a while. So, I am sending this off before my computer reboots after doing some updates. BBL
