Well - we're back from our trip!

We had a wonderful time.  The view from our balcony wasn't the greatest - the empty lake bed.  But other than that the weather was absolutely perfect.  Everyone came - even my ds and dil.  I have never seen such well behaved children. There were 7 of them ranging in age from 6 months to 11 years.  There were 28 of us all together.  We had breakfast at Paul Bunyan's.  We all got a kick out of that - especially the kids!  And of course our dil had to be a stinker.  We were at the lake house my brother rented on Saturday evening for dinner.  Dil was a perfect angel the first 28 hours in the Dells.  And then she arrived at the Sat. nite event with her nose in the air and wouldn't speak to anyone.  Then she warmed up a little.  My dd has a professional style camera and was going to take pictures of the group - you know - each family, the 2nd generation of grandkids, grandkids, siblings and then one big group picture.  Well - dil refused to be in any of the pictures.  My dd got huffy with her as she had pulled this not willing to be in a picture one other time.  I've never seen my ds so angry with his lovely wife - ever!  After the pictures were done he went up to where she was sitting and said "follow me" she said she didn't want to and he said "NOW".  She eventually apologized (My ds made her) .  Then she called me last night (she told my ds she was calling to thank us for the birthday gift - ha!) and read me the riot act - said nasty things.  I told her to put my son on the phone.  I told him that we were done with her.  He can call us whenever he wants and we'll call him but I told him that she is not to call us anymore.  I am done with her!

 It sounds as tho your son has her number, but you really are putting him in a hard spot.. chosing family or wife...he will never win...

I believe the DIL is the one that is putting her husband in that position. some folks will never get along, but this gal doesn't even try for the sake of her husband.

Oh boy!  I can only imagine what some of those pictures will look like!  But look closely, I bet you will find a few people snickering in those pictures, just not DIL.  Glad that otherwise it was a great time by all, even with the lake the way it was.  Did you get to go swimming at all in the lake, or is the lake no longer there?
