    Healthy Choices 07/10/08

Good morning everyone thought I better check in things have been very busy YGS has been helping me all week and we have done a great deal. Morton building has new siding and 3 doors removed. New overhead door will be in the 27th so we are as far as we can go there. Have been splitting wood so we can let it dry for this winter. Garden has been doing great getting string beans this week. DS and DDIL got a big kick out of me setting up a rest area on the shady side of the Morton building, indoor/outdoor carpeting 10X20 with a picnic table with umbrella and 6 chairs very nice to set and take a brake with a cool breeze blowing through if lucky. LOL

Got a deal on wood pellets for burning this winter $150 a ton so we bought 18 tons should be able to sell about 8 tons for $200 a ton this coming winter and still have enough to last about 2 years for are selves.

Need to take some time this morning to read the last few days of postings just not enough time in the day any more.

Marti condolences going out to you and Joe I hope this will not make more stress for Joe so much going on in your life right now.

Have a nice day and God bless everyone.

Good  morning Viny and all to come by later.

Nice to see you here this morning, Viny.  It sounds like you've accomplished quite a lot.  I like the idea of the rest area next to the Morton building.  It sounds so comfortable and just right to take a little break.

Keeping Marti and Joe in my prayers today.  Hopefully, the service will give them peace and closure and the comfort of knowing that DSMIL is no longer suffering and at peace.

Last night's concert was so enjoyable.  It was another beautiful summer evening with a nice cool breeze.  Today should be 80 and sunny, so we're really getting a taste of ideal summer weather.  The flowers did recover from the pounding rain, the other night, so I don't know why I worry about them.

Leaving early with Dsis for our day with Mom.  It sounds like she has a lot planned, so I won't be back till much later.

Hope everyone has a nice day.  God bless. Jo Ann

Good morning viny and Jo Ann...and those to follow.

An ideal summer day?  Not here.  At 6 am it was 80º with a dew point of 70º....had another rain shower last evening and doubt that there was significant precipitation.  I could see steam rising from the driveway as the rain started.  Hot and humid is the order of the day and the weekend.

Viny, you've had a productive week...good price on the pellets.  How do you use them?  Are they burned in a wood burning stove?  Do you have central heat and air conditioning there?  I like the idea of your rest area!  Sounds like a peaceful place...have you got a small refrigerator for cold drinks?  Might be a good place for a hot tub or spa thingy.

Jo Ann.....your busy Thursday!  You need to spread out your busy times instead of doing it all on one day.  Hope you remember to look for the larger crockpot!

Marti, my thoughts and prayers are with you today.  If Joe doesn't feel like going to the services, will he be OK with that?  I'm really concerned for him.  This heat is brutal...I was out and about yesterday afternoon and am still tired from it.  Hoping you will be able to get a decent sleep tonight.

I'm off to bible study this morning.  Need a few things from WalMart but may wait until tomorrow to do that...just too darn hot to get out after noon.  I'll check in later.

    Y'all have a good day...

Good morning... Another nice day here today  (about 82); but, we are supposed to have winds blowing 20+ mph this afternoon. the fire danger is very high.

Viny, your oasis sounds very relaxing. Pat will probably find you out there taking a nap when you are supposed to be working. Did you get your new comforter? Is it frilly?

JoAnn, the concert last night sounds very enjoyable. I hope you don’t get too tired today with all you have to do.

Verna, I agree with you that heat and humidity can really zap a person. You are wise to get out early in the day and then stay inside with the a/c in the afternoon.

lusi, so Finland has moose but they call them elk? The moose here in the Pacific Northwest are about the size of a horse (I think in Alaska they are even bigger). When is your appointment with the foot specialist?

Well, the boss is gone today; so, I will probably check back a little more regularly. lol

    Until later...

Good morning.  I'm so hoping this post will go.  I am having some email problems this morning so I'm not sure.

CakeHAPPY BIRTHDAY TO VERNA !! Gift  You finally caught up with Viny and I .  It's about time.  I was feeling so much more Mature than you. Surprise

And I'm so excited that I remembered your birthday without Prompting.  Angel

Viny, that is a good buy on Pellets.  I need to check and see what they are here.  They usually have specials in July if you buy 3 ton.

Am I the only one who doesn't know what a Morton building is ?  I assume it's not a building where people named Morton live but that's I could think of.  I love the rest area you created.  All you need for me is a wind chime and a water fall out there and I'd be happy.

JoAnn, they have concerts in the park here every week.  IN fact, they have 2 every week I think.  And of course Sat.  Market.  And First Friday....which is where they close off the streets downtown and have food, music, etc.  It's very "touristy", especially this time of year.

Jolynn, it was 108 degrees in Brookings Tues and 100 yesterday.  That's darn hot for the coast.  For those of you who don't know, that is on the Southern Or. coast, just above Ca.  Lots of people go there to retire because of the mild winters.

I have to go.  Clothes to hang out and a trip to the store before it gets hot.

Barb, you are such an early bird that you are even early wishing Verna a happy birthday. Although, since I won't be here on her birthday, I will go ahead and wish her a Happy Birthday, too!

Verna, here is wishing you a birthday that is as special as you are - and many more!

Barb, I that is hot for the coast; however, I still wouldn't mind being there. :)

Egads Barb...I'm catching up fast enough!  LOL!  Methinks perhaps the remembering mechanism is mature!Wink

Thanks anyway!  This is a long, drawn out birthday for me.  Last week I got a shirt, patriotic theme and then DS took me to LATE lunch Saturday and one of his friends hung all but one of the new blinds I got.  As soon as the last one is hung, I've got all the windows with new (and decent!) blinds.  This friend even scraped off ALL the solar film that was on the family room windows...and that was a real chore!  Went shopping with a friend yesterday and she got me the comforter for the office/bedroom...I think I already told y'all that...  Friend Barb took me to lunch last week and gave me a wonderful book of devotions...she is out of town for a couple of weeks. DD wants to make brunch Saturday...but not sure I want to get up early!   I'd much rather have her chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy!  Any day!!

We do need to remember that Barb, Viny and I are not the oldest (oops...most mature) ones here.  I think there are a couple that are more mature!  LOL!

I am into laundry today.  Don't want to have to do ANY on my real birthday.  Three loads...I'm not quite halfway.  Waiting for a young man to come give me a bid for adding insulation to my garage attic...hope he is affordable!

    Off to fold a load...

    Re: Healthy Choices 07/10/08

Yes, I am a couple days early with the Birthday wish.......for 2 reasons.  The first is because I was looking at my H C  address  list this morning and spied Verna's birthday date.  The second is because I then looked at my desk calendar and looked at June instead of July and June 12 h was on  a Thurs. so I thought today must be the 12 th.

So, there you have it.  Confused, mixed up, Mature, Senile.....take your pick but Have a Happy Birthday, whenever it is !!!Embarrassed

We went to town to get DH prescription filled......and you guessed it, he had to have Chinese food.  I told him he was having a big dinner but that didn't phase him.  He thinks because we split  lunch that it isn't much food.   Even splitting it, there was food left.

We have a nice breeze so it's cooler and my clothes dried so nice and soft.  I have been putting  liquid fab. softener in them and hanging them out.  For two people, we sure have a lot of laundry.  I seem to wash something every day.

Well, I have to go  see what kind of trouble I can get into.  Devil
