Just checkin' in . . .

First of all . . . I'm so jealous of Heidi, Jeanne, and MtMind . . . getting to meet and spend the day together!  I keep hoping I'll find out that some SSs live nearby here . . . and that maybe we can meet . . . I happy for you . . . it sounds like you really did have a Happy SS Day!!

I had a pretty Happy SS Day too . . . even though I didn't get to meet my SS.  But I DID get a card from her . . . and I know she's "watching over me."  If feels so good to know that she's thinking of me, reading my posts, and praying for me.  I think this SS project is the coolest thing . . . I tell everybody about it!  Now, I just have to learn more about my two new SSs, so I can start bragging and telling stories about them!!

We picked up DD from camp last night.  Her week started out kind of rough because the other JCs were rather 'tight' and clicky.  But . . . as it turned out - she had a great time . . . and by the end of the week, she was pretty 'tight' with them too!  They had lots of sad good-byes . . . but I'm sure they'll be keeping in touch until next summer!!

Today we had a home-interview for becoming a host family for the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange program.  Hopefully, we'll be hosting a German college student for the next school year.  I should know more sometime in the next week or so.  We have hosted international guests through the International Thanksgiving Fellowship Program, the Washington DC Visitor Program, Lions Club, Love Through Understand, and AFS Student program.  Oh, we hosted a student through the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange program for just a 5 day home-stay last year . . . we're exicted about possibly getting a student for a full year.

I've been fighting a nasty head-ache all day . . . so I'm headed for the jacuzzi and then off to bed.  Hopefully, the head-ache will be gone by the time I wake up in the morning.

To my very own SSs . . . keep on posting and giving me hints and stories about you.

I forgot to add my Bluebird Update . . . when i checked yesterday, I could see two babies, one egg, and I couldn't see what the fourth was (egg or baby).  Today, I could see at least three babies . . . and I'm assuming it's four and one's just hidden amonst them . . . cause I couldn't see any blue egg shell.  Now . . . I'm thinking about 11-14 days before they'll be ready to fly . . . but I ought to check - cause I always get the time between laying and hatching . . . and the time between hatching and flying mixed up.  But I can't wait!

Boy am I excited about the new round of SS!! I'm having so much fun. Thank you all for being involved in such a fun endeavor!

I went to the Dollar Store today with the kids... My SS has a birthday sometime in the next couple of months and I bought a thing or two for her today. You can get some of the cutest things in that place... although that makes it rather dangerous, too!

Redawna - Love the pics from your vacation. Absolutely amazing!! Thanks for sharing with us. Wow, your 'houses' look wonderful! I hope you won! (Am I correct in assuming those pics are from last year?)  I saw the 'Pudding Shot' and 'Jell-O Shot' recipes you posted... I've never tried anything like that - are they any good? Just curious!

Evie - How are you? How's the family? I'm so sorry for your loss. Wish the Sisters farther north here in California could get some of that rain you had... I hear it's pretty bad. My heart (& prayers) go out to them. Seems like everybody BUT California is getting rain, and we need it so desperately!!

Karen - Are you back from your trip? Was it AC that you went to? How did you do? How were those Wizard of Oz slots? Did they live up to your expectations? Hope you had a great time!!

China - I hope that you're feeling better!! Don't you just hate to lose things? It's the worst!! Hope you are having a great weekend!

Maryann - How long have you been a Secret Shopper? I've thought about doing it several times, but I've always decided it was probably a scam to get money from people. What 'service' do you use? How do you get your clients? I'd love to know more about this. How close to the fires are you? Will keep you in my prayers.

Marian & Lynn - I'm so happy for the both of you! Getting to actually meet your SS from last round must have been very exciting!

Laurie - I hope things are going well with your DH. I'll pray for your father's surgery to go smoothly.

LindaChicken - ROFLMAO over your story about your dad and the bear!! That sounds hilarious!

Rebecca Lee - Love your idea of good weather.... know where we can find any? LOL! Sorry to hear about the oops w/ CPS. Hope you got ahold of the correct people.

Amy_AZ - I'm sorry to hear that you're still having problems with your insurance. Isn't Grocery Outlet fun? We used to have one near here for a while, but they closed about a year ago.

Linda - You're not invisible!! We all see you here. Tell DH to go away so you can have a cup of tea and just take a few minutes for yourself. You sound so frazzled. Even just a few minutes will help, hopefully!

Good Morning To ALL the Sisters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  We are new to the bluebird house's and are "baby" watching right now.  Ron built a bluebird house and put it down by the garden.  It didn't take long for Mom and Pop bluebird to find it and make a nest.  We too are enjoying watching them. Ron won't even mow near the nest because he is so afraid of distrubing them.  One thing for certain, we sure enjoy our birds and the hummingbirds are just so adorable.  We have alot more than last year and I have to fill the feeder almost everyday.

  We are headed to a Family Reunion today.  I am looking forward to going, but the weather is not going to be too nice, I am afraid.  Rain and storms.

  Hope all is well with all the Sisters and my two Special Sisters.

 Good morning everybody.  Happy Sunday!

 I'm starting on a new project today--cross stitch for a baby quilt!  Not counted (eyes are almost too old for that anymore) but the traditional cross stitch with the blue x-s.  Now those I can see!

Susie Pumpkin and Mary 2171--Love those bluebirds!  I miss mine when they fly away.  We have had two nestfulls this year (5 each time).  Mary, my husband does the same thing when mowing--says away from the house so as not to distrub the family.  haha.  So I guess those husbands so have tender hearts after all (or they don't want to be dive bombed!)

 Amy-Az  Tell me about the Grocery Outlet.  Yesterday we took a short road trip and I spotted one that I didn't know was there.  Didn't have time to stop.  Do you have to be a member?  What's it like?  Good prices?  Tell me!

Good morning to all of you, and especially my SS's.  I'm having trouble with this round because I can't find out too much about my SS except where she lives  and maybe two or three other things.  So post post post!!!

Today is my Saturday.  My library is a mess.  My three clerks and I spent all day unpacking boxes and going through books and deciding which books we really needed and which law information was on the computer.  I ended up with two books on my desk about MASTERS AND SLAVERY.  LOLOLOL!  I also fell down kicking a box down the hallway, and today my knee is a bit sore.  I asked my clerks why they didn't come save me, and they were more concerned about what kind of trouble they could get in if I got hurt . . . they would be blamed first and questioned later.  I told them I'd always tell the truth, but they're a bit paranoid.

Nothing planned today though my house is a wreck.   It's been hot and I'm so tired!  I fell asleep on the couch last night and slept there all night long.  Rick tried to get me to come to bed but I was too tired.  LOL!

Connie, I have the same problem.  It is a pain. 

It is hot here also.  I have three fans running 24/7.  How is the smoke in your area.

Headed to church shortly and then to Price Less to sell raffle tickets for the Lane Street Fund raiser.  We have $700 worth of prizes donated.  I do it at one grocery store today and then another next week.  There are a lot of people that go to grocery stores after church. 

Marcia and Linda, how are both of you doing today.   pumpkin, it sounds like you will be busy today.

We got the bus back Friday night and moved our stuuf back in Staurday. That went well. But now our car will not start, it is not getting gas. So it was towed to the shop for work Monday. We love the paint job and want to put on accnt stripes in the near future.

My hives are fading and not iching very much, thank goodness as I could not have taken that much more.

Good morning all my sisters!!! Another beautiful day here. 2 days of under 100!!!! Unusual for us!! 

I woke up tired this morning....sometimes I wish we had twin beds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol He such a restless sleeper....drives me nuts.
