Good afternoon SS's!  It sounds like everyone is doing good!!!!!  All the stories about blue birds sound so loving, now I want to know how to get some!!!!!!!  Right now our town is filled with Owls, I don't remember owls being around when I was little but there sure is a lot now!!!!!!  Two days ago the kids and I went to a park up the street, it was about 5 ish and there was an owl sitting in a tree watching us!!!!!!  It was beautful but also a little scary.  I wasn't sure what the owl was going to do.  Never been in a sitution like that before.  Well I need to get busy and do some house work and some baking.  I will check in later.

Hi Sisters!  Wish I had time to spend - just discovered I have some Internet access - very limited.  I'm reading all the posts, and keeping you all in prayer.  I am at a Civil Air Patrol Model Rocketry Encampment, this year I am serving as the administrative officer, and the test control officer.  It's a very busy week - tons of fun.  I started this particular encampment 5 years ago - and it has been fun to watch it grow.  I gave up directorship a couple years ago - but have lots of fun helping out.  This week I'm Major Betty, and having a ball.  Our unofficial mottoes are - Semper Gumby (always flexible), and YES, it IS Rocket Science!!!

Love hearing about your blue bird stories ladies. I have parakeets and parrolets in the house. I bought nest boxes but they seem uninterested. Sooooo I thinks it is because they look boring. So I am going to add my only little creative touch and maybe they will be interested in their love nests then! lol The idea just came to me this weekend to make their cages look like a country yard instead of a bird cage. Of course everything will have to be non toxic, but I'm up to it. So I am on a hunt for tiny wash tubs, laundry scrub boards. Little grape vine wreaths anything like that. Doesn't it sound neat? I am motivated now.

I would love to share pictures of my birds with you guys but don't know how to upload them to this post? Any advice?

Love hearing about the birds.  When we were on vacation this past week, there is an eagle on the other side of the lake.  Nothing like seeing an eagle snatch a fish out of the water!!

We have hawks too close to our house.  On top the garage at times.  I worry about our cat.  We do keep him on a leash, but that just means he can't run and hide.  I really haven't seen them this year (in the yard), but last year too many times.  DH says they won't try for a cat, but I don't care.  I also keep a close eye on him anyway (not just because of hawks).  Rebecca Lee, that bird cage sounds pretty neat.  Even if they don't want babies, sounds like a great place to live!!  LOL!! 

Finally finished the laundry last night!  Between vacation clothes and regular clothes--whew!!  Today would be be great day to hang the clothes on the line.  It's really windy but atleast it's nice out!!

Have to go to a cookout tonight.  DSIL's house.  First we'll watch the nephews play in a baseball tournament, then go eat.  I feel really guilty, because I don't feel like making anything.  It was supposed to be yesterday, so I made Boston Cream Cupcakes, and it was canceled with barely any notice.  Hopefully they won't be too soggy.

Hello Sisters, Yesterday was wonderful - magical - sweet - exciting - yeaaah - Heidi and I met Lynn - Mtmind -

Lynn presented Heidi her reveal gift - All I will say about that is OOOOOOOH Boy I won't say anything about that because Heidi will want to do that but I will say    Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Boy.   

 You made us so welcome.  I had the best time and I can't stop talking about it today.  We went to a local craft fair together and we stopped in great restaurant for lunch - not a franchise - but a lovely, friendly country place.  Lynn it was so much fun spending time with you and your son. We just talked, and talked and talked - just like old friends.

Also, we went to a craft store, where I bought some craft items - I really took a liking to Lynn's hobby - and I want to be careful what I say here because I don't want to give Lynn's identity away to her present SS by saying too much about Lynn's craft projects - but I will say I was eager to get my hands on some items that Lynn uses in her craft projects, and so Lynn drove us to an amazing craft supply store - and I picked up a couple of treasures - I've found even more uses for them than I originally thought Lynn.

When I got home last night I couldn't stop talking about the great day Heidi and I had with Lynn and her son.  I've calmed down somewhat today but at several intervals as I think of things I start up again - I just finished showing DH my "punch" he thought it was really neat.  And Lynn, I miss your furbabies - I'm so jeolous - even though I have Henry - who I love to pieces but he is and always will be a very aloof dog.  I have never been kissed so much. 

I would say more and I will but I want to post this now and add to it later - I have a bad habit of writing and saving without posting - or writing and losing it and then just dashing a few lines off so I'll quit while I'm ahead and continue later.     For now  I'll wake my Henry up and see if he wants to go for a walk.    Love to everyone, jeanie

 Jenn--I have so enjoyed my blues, but I would give my right arm to have OWLS!  Wow.  My friend from work had screech owls last year (did you know those babies can climb straight up the tree--and they play dead when they are frightened).  But I have only ever seen an owl once in the wild (when I was driving home--I live in the country) and that one was swooping after some prey I imagine.

My cell phone died this weekend.  Well, actually it was the screen so I couldn't tell if I was on or off, whose number I might want to dial or if I could take a photo or not.  So....my DH took me down to pick out a new one.  Well, he wanted me to pick out an "affordable" model as he wanted to also replace the one for my DDIL AND himself!  Now, both of theirs are working but he figured if mine went out, hers would probably be next.  Do I dare tell him that my phone was working fine before I went to Curves and placed it in my bra while going around and around?  So do you think that a little bit of sweat washed away the screen function??  What good are these things if you can't store it where you need to??  LOL  So now instead of a Razr, I have a Shine.  I'm not sure I like it yet, but it does work.  It rings, takes photos and I can once again place calls.  So, why did he get 3??!!!  Well, he said that everytime you replace one, the company wants you to extend your service contract so he figured he would do all of them now instead of one at a time.  But, you know what???  He got a new blackberry a few months back and now he has another!  I do think he took advantage of my bad luck.  In a couple of weeks, I'll let you know why I am letting him get away with this.  You KNOW it has to be a good reason.  LOL

My little 3 year old grandson will be going in for an MRI tomorrow.  Since he is so young, they will have to sedate him.  His mommy is 8 months pregnant and both she and daddy (my son) are typical parents that would rather see their little one fall asleep naturally, not induced.  So, if you would, please keep the little family in your thoughts today and tomorrow.

**Connie**  I do hope that your sister will post more.  It gets very frustrating to want to please someone but you don't know exactly what it will take to do just that.  Just do your best and I'm sure it will be the right thing.

If any of you have not gone into the thread, "what I can't find in my area.."  Do so.  It has been so much fun reading and if you want to find something unusual to send your sister, it just might be found on there.

Ladies I think I figured this out. For all you  bird lovers here is my flock.

Lemon drop and Blue boy- my first parakeets. Thought I had a true pair here all to find out yellow males don't have a blue cere like other males.

Here is my yellow face female -pretty face-that I hope falls in love with the blue pied (blue boy). I would love to have some yellow face blue pieds.

Here are my parrolettes. They are madly in love. They have even been known to hold hands. Wish I could get a picture of that!

ok Everyone is telling about their birds....so guess I'll tell you about ours. We have a hummingbird next right out the back door. Last year we had 2 little ones. Not sure what's going on this year but I have seen them hanging around. They were so tiny. It's so neat watching the birds flutter around the nest. They just fly right around you....almost scary....lol  I took some pictures last year...but not sure I can find them.  They are amazing birds.

     Hello to everyone haven't posted this month, my DS was home with her two beautiful grandsons,[ZAIAHSGRANDMA] She needed to get away and relax but even here problems followed her. We did get to sit by the Lake and relax waiting for the sun to set. Shes like me the sound of the water is so peaceful and soothing. I had fractured my foot couple days before she got here and had a severe ear infection that l can't seem to get rid of so l can't hear. Kids think its funny instead of telling them they need to quiet down now l'm saying l can't hear you. Anyway it was great to have them here just wish they could have stayed longer.

   Love all the birds stories-- we also have hummers that if you set on the deck they come right up to you.l have a collection of figurines , l love birds and the DG'S call it the bird room.

   Crossinggaurd-- will sure keep your little GS in thoughts and prayers hope everything goes well hes so young its got to be scary for him.

  I'll be taking another trip to Tenn. my dad has to go in hospital again, they found a blockage on the good side of his heart -- hoping they can fix it with a stint.  He bought a house down there, was going to build one but hes been there 11 months and waiting for tests and permits that keep getting canceled when scheduled was making him crazy.  Told him l could move him back here right quick if he wanted. He put off hospital so they can be in the house when he gets out which didn't make the Dr.  happy.

  DGDs graduation party was yesturday can't believe it, next year have 2 more graduating, time sure flies.

I had written a nice long post this morning and as I was adding the last few sentences it went into space somewhere.  It completely disappeared from my computer and I don't know why.  Just got home from a day of wandering around ending up at the lake to just sit out there for a while.  To bad we weren't a little later as then we could have stayed for one of the beautiful sunsets over the lake.  Around here it doesn't get dark until after 10pm  so it would have been a couple hours and the mosquitos wouldn't let us stay that long.

Watched them film parts of a movie named TAGO this week  in my neighborhood.  Really couldn't figure much of it as they were doing things in different areas at the same time and they didn't let you get to close because everyone had to be quiet while they were filming.  They had people stationed where you had to stay and they cautioned you to be quiet as they started filming. WE actually saw more action out our living room window watching them put things together and bring things back and forth.  They had been other places in town and in a mall near Grand Rapids last week.  The movie is a romantic comedy.  Don't really know anything else about the movie as anyoone you asked said all they knew was it is a romantic comedy.  It is being filmed by the  movie studio in town that is really going to expand already and have only been here a year or so. The ones that own it worked in Hollywood before coming here but one of them was originally from here.

This week I am going to a Red Hat Dinner that will be a Louisana meal.  Hope there is a chicken Jambalaya dish with no shrimp or beans.  A Louisana meal is not really for me.  I don't like beans, fish or shrimp.  I think I like Micki's thing and I will put a PBJ in my purse so I won't go hungry.

We have the carpet cleaners coming first thing Tuesday morning so tomorrow I have to clean the living room and put things in other places which is always fun when there really is no good place to put most of it for a day without falling all over everything.  The computer won't get moved so I will still be able to use it.

Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to do my in space post over as I had read everyones post, made an outline so I could write to each and I did keep that.  Only trouble tomorrow I will have to read the new ones before I post.  Will I ever be able to keep up with all of you????

Good evening sisters...

  I hope everyone had a wonderful day/weekend!!  I worked 18 out of 24 hours yesterday and got out at 8am this morning, I went grocery shopping then came home and I cooked a turkey dinner.  I invited my family over for dinner(mom, brothers, uncle)...after dinner, one of my cousins visiting from out of town (actually she came to town for a wake and funeral we all will be attending Tues.and Wed.) came by and we all played cards...I was the big winer tonight...lol. 

Everyone just left to go home and I have some cleaning up to do before I go to bed and then another work week starts at 8 am tomorrow...lol

I was wondering where you find the traditional cross-stitches? It seems like whenever I'm looking for cross-stitch I can find about a thousand of the counted ones, but hardly any of the ones that you're talking about... Any hints?
