Do you think your relationships are worth some difficulty at times?

CT said she's not coming back here because it's too difficult for her to post and/or read the posts.  I don't remember at the moment exactly what she said, and I'm not a "researcher".  I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.  LOL

I can appreciate what she's saying, because it is a pain in the neck sometimes.  I personally get quite annoyed at those moving advertisements that make one wait FOR-FLIPPIN'-EVER before performing whatever function you've asked the computer to do.

But to never return?  I'm not trying to slam CT -- if I wanted to, which I surely don't, I'd do it directly.  LOL  I'm just wondering who else feels the relationships and friendships you've made here aren't worth some difficulty at times.

I've only been here a short time but I personally have never had any trounle posting or reading posts.  I have windows IE but if it is running slow I switch to firefox.  What a shame that someone feels the need to leave... I wonder why she had so much trouble?  Like I said I'm fairly new so I hopw I didn't offend anyone by sticking my nose in hereEmbarrassed

Jmarie -- there will always be someone offended by your disagreement with them.  LOL

Don't worry about it -- the best thing you can do is be yourself.  :-)

I like it here. It is slow around here sometimes and it gets frustrating,so I just find something else to do until it speeds up. There's always email, bills, recipes and such to take care of. Plus, I let my two teens use this computer so I have them to check up onWink.Im sorry she wants to leave and stay away. I havent read the thread yet. I have made some really good friends on here that has extended into "real" life.

That's pretty much how I feel.  I'm glad, sometimes, that it takes a while, in fact.  It gives me a chance to go pee.  LOL LOL LOL

I honestly don't think the site is that slow most of the time, at least for me.  I don't have dial-up, I use Firefox at home.  (At work I have my employer's entire huge network at my disposal).  and yes SOMETIMES I get the error message or it behaves like a hound dog choking on a chicken bone when I hit the "post' button.

I wonder sometimes if the complaints are the direct result of the changes made to the board (and I was not here then):  I want it how I want it and I want it the way it was and the new way can't be any good!

The nice thing about this place is on days that it just isn't worth it to me I don't have to come here.  Does that make sense?  Then on days that I want to be here and chat it is worth my time even if it is running slow.  That probably makes little sense and seeing as I am being IGNORED anyway I won't take offense lol!!  I am still too busy crying over the Lion video anyway Wink

The old board was slow and had problems every so often too...I really don't see much of a difference in that department!!

Don't EVER feel like you're sticking your nose in!!  It's a public board and you're welcome - nay, invited, encouraged!! - to respond to any post on it!

I do have problems posting replies here now and then, but that won't keep me away.  I like it here.  I'm sorry CT feels that way - maybe she's a whole lot busier than I am!!  Or less of a busybody!

Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.

Well you were pretty close......she said:

"it takes sooo long to get to a different place i just get tired of waiting, i just answered with a post on "shampoos and conditioners" and i guess its out in cyber space....its just not worth the trouble...bye!!!"

I'm left wondering why that post went thru for her ...but others haven't?  I can't help but be reminded of the posts we used to get intermittently when someone was hurt or ticked off...ya know the Good-Bye-I'm-Leaving posts. I'm betting she'll return eventually.

I think the friendships I've made here with several people are definitely reason enough for staying.  The other night I was trying to communicate with AK and it was drudgingly slow.  It was late, I was tired and I said OK...I'll check back in tomorrow. Just that simple.

I've also had replies that have evaporated into cyber space somewhere, but I'm German, so I try again.  Dang computer isn't gonna beat me ya know! LOL

Pretty much all relationships, cyber or face-to-face, involve some difficulty at some time.

Because of 'difficulty' I have grown even closer with some people.  On this here BB and in real life too.  Was it worth it?  You bet!!  IMHO of course.

I wish CT was still here because I'd like her to see this quote by Jessamyn West:
