    Dog [&] Critter Chat - 7/18/08

Morning all.  Thought I'd open since it's close to 9:30 here.  Cloudy today and supposed to be a bit cooler, I think I can handle that.

Stop on in and cool off and chat for a bit.

Good morning gkids!  Thanks for opening this morning.  It's going to be a real scorcher today and tomorrow too.  I think I'll be staying inside!  I read a very disturbing article this morning about an Amish farmer and his arrest for cruelty to animals.  I won't post the story but I will give the link to the story. Be warned though, it's heart breaking.

Today is house cleaning day so I'll be back later.

Forgot to mention that this farmer lives in the next town from where we live.

    Good morning all.

Just got back from a little shopping and I do mean little. I don't like it hot.

After I got stuff put away we went out on the deck and there is just a nice breeze so it really seemed nice. I guess that is where I'm heading. I'll have to drag Albert out. He likes his AC. I'm sure he thinks we turn it on just for him.

Kozy the new short hair cut will feel so good.

Have a good day everyone and try to stay cool.

Hi, Hope everyone is staying cool. Over here in Ohio we are going to be HOT. That  ole factory sure gets HOT.   We have a lot of trees around our house, so our front porch stays cool til late afternoon. So Madusa enjoys the mornings out there.   I think the heat is getting to her, she hasn't ate for almost 3 days.  Wish I wouldn't eat when I'M HOTSad

Well hope all have a good weekend and stay COOL.

Hm. Stretching lazily as a dull amber glow filters into the room. Summer, with all its bright, hot intensity is my favorite season.

I have shamefully neglected my aquarium and am working to bring it back to it's former vitality before adding any more fish to it for my own viewing pleasure.

DH wants to catch the early feature of the new Batman movie that starts today.

well I am back from the hair dressers and I have been sheared. Cut short like an old fashion grandpa and I love it.  When my boys were very young I use to have their hair cut in a butch. When I washed their faces I just kept going back and washed their whole head...grin..Of course when they got older they hated it. And that reminds me of the Gypsy cut I did with luvadash once..Ask her she will tell you how much she hated that. But I was boss and I loved it. Maybe after I ask her I can post a pic of it.

Just got back a little bit ago from our Friday lunch and then we ran some errands. Nice to be back inside in the ac. It's still steamy out there even though it's not as hot. Oh Kozy, aren't those short hair cuts just the greatest. I usually wear my hair fairly short all year round but when it got really warm here I had it shortened up and so now I have my "wash and wear" hairdo. I wash it, fluff it up and off I go. Can't get much easier than that. Sure is quiet here today. Edit: It appears TOH is at it once again. Typing the reply I have several paragraphs but when it posted everything is all run together and I don't have the preview buttons on the top either.

Good afternoon, everyone!  Our days have been overshadowed by rain, every day!  I wish I could send ALL OF IT to California.  I got bitten by this little bug that comes around every so often...no, not an insect...the clutter bug, or should I say the de-clutter bug...lol.  I have been going from top to bottom in this house, room by room and cleaning out drawers, closets, boxes, baskets, tabletops, underbed, shelves...you name it!  I get possessed twice a year like this (so you know what my house looks like on a normal basis!) and I have no mercy.  It's a good feeling to have everything 'in order' for a change.  Of course, I know I will be looking for something that USED to be on the counter and is no longer there.  Did I throw it out?, did I relocate it?, is it in yet some other box I relocated?

Kozy, glad you like your new short 'do!  Last summer my hair went through menopause or something because I couldn't do a thing with it so I cut it short.  Been keeping it pretty short since then and it is finally getting some of it's old life back so I may grow it out again.  For now though, I like it...blow and go!

Jan, I don't think I'm going to read that article because I'm pretty sure I heard about it, or a similar case involving an Amish family.  I know it's dumb, but I just don't want the details!  I'll wait until they tell the story about how the animals found new, happy homes...lol!

Hi Alby and Gkids...boy, you guys sure do suffer with the H&H don't you?  My house is like Dmax described, being shaded with trees so we don't feel it as bad.  But it can get so hot on the deck in the afternoon that you can't even walk out there with bare feet.

    Hi Red!

Will try to get back later...everyone have a nice day...remember, the weekend is upon us!

It's cloudy up out there!  We sure could use the rain, not the storms that go with the humidity!  We just got our electric bill for the month.  I almost passed out!

Bd, you don't want to know the details.  I wish I hadn't read it either.   If that urge to de-bug hits more than the normal twice a year, you can come here and de-clutter.

Kozy, I'm glad you like your short hair.  I've been thinking about getting mine chopped off.  I got it cut shorter last year just haven't gotten the nerve to go even shorter.   I'd love to see a picture of luvadash's gypsy hair cut.  I remember my mom used to get my hair cut into a pixie haircut.  I hated it, everyone thought I was a little boy!

Me, too!  I can't tell you how many years I sported that pixie cut!

BD would you and the de-clutter bug like to come visit me.  DH is a pack rat and maybe if the de-clutter bug was here he wouldn't say a word when things just "happened" to disappear.   Our deck is like yours only ours is in the morning when it is cooler but the sun beats down on it so much the boards are way to hot to walk on and it's like a sauna out there so don't get much use when the weather is like this cuz when we get the shade it's late afternoon and the bug critters are out and about.

Think TOH is at it once again.  I posted the earlier post and couldn't even preview it before posting it and no paragraphs so switched to my other program and now have the preview info--well maybe it's not TOH but my other IE acting up today.

LOL, don't count on it!  Seems like DH will all of a sudden want that little tiny screw that has been sitting on the windowsill for years waiting for him to screw it back into wherever it came out of, as soon as I toss it!  The secret is to move it to another place first, maybe two times, just to be sure you can still get your hands on it if necessary.  After that, well, too bad, so sad....  Believe me I have stealthily gotten rid of some of his junk and he never had a clue...tells you how much he valued whatever it was!  (And why didn't I get rid of it so much sooner?) (Note: it doesn't always work, you have to be careful what you decide he doesn't need.)  (But if you're a good fibber you can usually pull it off...lol)

LOL I think I have "liar" stamped across my forehead.   No matter how innocent I try to look it never seems to work.   And yes I've tried that moving things around several times as well, sometimes it works, sometimes not.

What am I reading?? There is actually a bug that doesn't bother BD? LOL  I could use a good infestation of that kinda insect!

Just wanted to pop in and say "hi" one last time.  Critter Chat on page 3?  We'll have none of that, ya hear?

Hot & steamy was on the menu here today.  Rain to move in over the weekend.  I really don't care if it rains at the cabin we're going to either.  Just a chance to get away for a few days excites me.

I was "sheared" yesterday.  I know it's time to go see my hairdresser when it takes longer than 5 minutes to do my "do"!

We bought 2 water toys to take with us for Sammie & Libby.  They played with them in the pool til I thought they would drop!  We bought a 30' lead rope to tie Sammie to in case she decides to try and swim across the lake!

I'd better get going here.  *See* you all soon!
