    Good Morning ladies,

This seems to be my favorite time to post IF I am going to get it done at all.  I have really been under the weather again, but feel somewhat better right now, so thought I'd take this opportunity to say 'HI'.

As many of you know, in June I had another CT scan and biopsy (bladder), and got wonderful results.  No new or residual cancer !!!  However, I wasn't feeling any better, in fact I was worse each day.  I saw the doctor on Thursday, and have now been diagnosed with BCG Cystitis ~~ and now on a whole new regimen of medications.  They are really powerful and I have to take them on an empty stomach.  So, the first 3 hours afterwards I feel rather miserable.  I see the doctor again in 2 weeks and am hopeful I will be feeling 'great' by then.  Right now I'm a 'slug', and don't do anything more than absolutely necessary.  DH has been wonderful, but am looking forward to the day when I can 'do' for him, instead of the other way around.

Am looking forward to church this Sunday, as our Pastor will be baptizing his first, and only grandson.  He has really been looking forward to this day, as is the congregation.  Last Sunday was my first time in church in several weeks, and am hoping and praying I feel good that day.

I have tried to read the current posts, and it sounds like several of you are having your own problems, medical and otherwise.  You are all in my prayers and know the various problems will be resolved according to His plans.  One of these days I'll be able to sit here long enough to address each and every one of you ~~ in the meantime, this will have to do.

    til later, Sandy Smile

    Good Saturday Morning Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coffee Who is ready for that first cup of coffee???  Coffee  I just poured my first cup and am willing to share with the rest of you!!  Michelle, are you ready?? Are you on round 3 or 4 right now?  Coffee

Coffee  Today is Walmart day and hairdo day.  I am ready to go shopping for awhile, although we don't need too much grocery wise.

Coffee   Robin, I wonder how that Sleep lotion from Bath and Body would work on a child.  When Mattie was here, she had a hard time settling down and using that lotion ran through my mind, but I was afraid to try something like that.  I know B&B also sells a spray that is to help you sleep.   I am pretty sure my GS had to take some kind of medication when he was younger to settle down.  DD never actually said, but I suspected it.  My GS was over active, had a hard time sleeping and just got wild at times.  He never played the way other kids play.....he was more for getting into things.  You had a very hard time keeping him occupied and interested in doing anything.   He is 10 years old now, and seems to have settled down quite a bit.  He does well in school too.

Coffee    Sandy, I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well again.  I hope and pray that you soon find some relief and feel better soon.   I hope you feel well enough to go to church and see your Pastor baptize his first and only Grandson!!

Coffee  Not alot new here. Woke up thinking about the NSDS situation and realize that he has to clean up his own messes he created.  I think part of the problem is that he reminds me so much of his father, it is unreal.  I believe what my DIL is telling me about him, but I don't believe a what my son is telling me. I believe he is lying to me and just plain ol dishonest with me.  I blame, not totally, his going to Iraq for really messing him up mentally.  I am pretty sure they did go for some counsiling, but DIL said it didn't help.

Coffee Well, this is day 2 of the darn ol diet!! LOLI realize how off balance I am, but have till Nov. when I have my blood tests to get back in shape.   Ron and the coumadin messed up my eating habits big time.  Yesterday AM when I cleaned the red beets and greens, I cooked myself some greens....this was at 9:30 AM..LOL Ron loves beet greens, but can not have them....so I feel like I am sneaking them in....LOL  Gosh you buy beets at the farmers market with nice tops and you got vegetable enough for days if you eat and cook the tops......LOL  I put some vinegar on mine and  just a little pepper....yum!!!!!!!!!

Coffee  Marge and Doris, keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Coffee  Hope all of you are having a good Saturday!!

    Hugs,

I went over to SS section of the board and saw that Marcia posted this following message about our friend Jeanne.  If any of you need her address to mail a card, please contact either me or Hauke for the address.  This is so sad, it just breaks my heart.

    Mary

    (Marcia's post)

Sisters, PLEASE put Jeanne - PalaminoFilly - in your urgent prayers right now... please pray continuously for her in your heart.  Jeanne has lost her only son in very tragic circumstances... Needless to say, Jeanne is devastated ......If you would like to send a sympathy card, please send it to me (unless you already have her address) and I will forward them on to her... if you don't have my address.. email tohsecretsis at gmail dot com   and I will email it to you.....  I know that ALL of our hearts go out to Jeanne.

Lord, I just ask that you allow Jeanne to feel your arms of comfort and love around her as she goes thru this fiery trial.  Surround with friends and family that will encourage and care for her. Give her peace in the valley.  Lord, even I struggle as I think of Jeanne and her days ahead to know the right words or the right prayers for her.  I know that you love her............ right now, Lord, all she can see is this awful pain and hurt and emptiness... As she makes her way thru the grieving process, Lord, please fill her with your peace and love ..... You are an omnicient and ever present God and you know the future......We trust YOU to look out for her.. and help us to be there in any way that we can Lord... use us... to encourage and hold up our sister in her time of need... in Jesus name, amen...

Sandy – I'm sorry you have been under the weather but I'm glad you are feeling a bit better.  Take it easy this weekend.  Medications can really take the wind out of our sails.  Enjoy the baptism.  Your pastor will be quite the proud grandfather, I'm sure.

Mary – It sounds like your son needs a lot of counseling.  But nobody can make him do it.  He's got to want to do it on his own.  Good luck with your diet today.  Thank you so much for letting us know about Jeanne.  How sad.  I will definitely send her a card.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jeanne and her family during this difficult time.  How sad.

Not much going on today.  My city is having "Arts in the Park" today, but I don't think I'm going.  It is a crafts fair that is held in the park.  It is always packed.  I've gone most of the years, but there isn't anything I really need.  There is one man that sells these pretty necklaces.  I have one blue butterfly already and I thought about getting a black and white heart, but I thought I had already bought one.  I'll have to look around for it.  Maybe I will go back and get one.  We'll see.
I did do my walk.  It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  Good thing I walk early.
I need to do laundry and general cleaning today.  I also have to go to the grocery store and WalMart to get a certain vitamin.
    Everybody have a good day.

Re: DC Conversation - Weekend, July 19-20

    Greetings all.

Sandy, so nice to hear from you.  I am sorry that you are fighting yet another medical battle.  How wonderful for your pastor to get to baptize his only grandson.  I am sure the service will be very heartfelt!!

Mary, that is so sad about your son.  I am sure that being overseas messed him up alot, but I hope he will continue to get the help he needs.  Could be that he is a carbon copy of his father, but that sure would be too bad.  About all you can do is pray and try to be there for his family.

Joyce, did you find the necklace?  Good for you for getting your walk in this morning.  We are so gloomy and rainy so far, with storms coming through later in the day.  That should be good for business, I hope.

All this talk about trying to settle children down brings back a memory of my brother.  Here goes:  as a child, he required very little sleep, and didn't really sleep all night.  He was maybe 3 when a noise in the kitchen woke my mom up, and here was Dave, with oatmeal on the floor, a pan out and the bag of sugar on the floor.  When asked what he was doing, well, he was making brownies!!!LOL  This was at 3 or 4 am!!!!  I really think that had he been born 5 years later than he was, he would have been medicated through most of his child hood.  He has a very high IQ and his main problem was keeping him occupied with books and things well past his age group.  IN fact, my grandpa gave him and 18 book set from Time/Life when he was 4.  The set?  Mammals, Amphibians and Reptiles.  And, he read them....lots of times!!

Well,  I did my workout this morning since I only had gotten 2 in this week, then I went to the beauty shop for a much needed hair cut.  I told her to cut it shorter than she had been, since with the heat and humidity, having hair on my forehead and face was making me grumpy!!

What sad news about Jeanne,  I'll send out a card on Monday.  Prayers for both Jeanne and Marge.

    Later all.

    Deb

    Hello,

I must be getting old and forgetful.  I posted on yesterday's thread.  Duh!  I guess you will have to go back to read it.  I am sorry for the mistake.  I will be back later.

    Love to all of you,

    Hello everyone,

Hauke...........I read your message to me and passed the info on to my DH.  He is dreading the hose, especially in the summer.  I may have a real battle on my hands.  He is so hot-natured anyway.  I told him I want him to take care of his heart and the veins in his legs.  I may eventually have to wear them myself.  Getting him to slow down on his salt intake is already presenting a problem.  Thanks for your input.

Joyce.........Everything you said about your sister and her varicose veins, helps me convince  my DH that it is in his best interest to just wear them and not fight it.  We have to get other things done first.  The sonogram on his veins in both of his legs will show what's going on.  Then, if he really needs the hose, he will have to be fitted.  We also have an appointment with a Podiatrist.  Eventually, I will probably have to see him too.  Thanks.

Mary...........It isn't any of my business, but I have been through one of my daughter's divorces.  The marriage was only 3 yrs long, and involved one child.  It was devastating.  I has been horrible ever since and she has remarried and had two more children.  Her marriage is going fine with this husband, but the ex has been worse to her than when they were married.  We did all we could to help them and keep them together, but they were adults and we just prayed.  The child involved, still wishes his parents were married.  He loves his step dad, but it just isn't the same.  I have had two divorces, and they were both very stressful and heartbreaking.  I am happily married to my third hubby and everything is fine now.  All we can do as parents, is pray constantly.  I will put your family in my prayers, too.

To everyone one else, I'll be back later, to check in.  Got some laundry to do and a little cooking.  Tomorrow being Sunday, means today will be a little busy.

    Darla    Smile

    Hi, everyone.

We finally got home from the pistol match and we all had a short nap. Had a mix of weather, too, from rain to bright to fog.

I will be praying for all the dear sisters here-----prayers going up for ills, worries, family problems and sadness.

Now, we are getting ready for DD#2 to take Bradley home tomorrow for his week at soccer camp. He will be back in a week for VBS----our church is doing Power Lab.

Deb – I forgot this this morning:
    Happy Birthday to you!
    Happy Birthday to you!
    Happy Birthday Dear Deb!
    Happy Birthday to you!

I hope you have had a very nice day and did something fun besides your work-out and your hair cut.  Did she cut it as short as you wanted?  I hope so.  No, I never found the necklace.  Maybe I never did buy it.  I didn't go buy one.  This guy is there every year and is at other craft fairs in the fall, so I'm sure I will see him again.

Darla – I hope your husband will wear the support hose.  I had a doctor ask me once if I had ever been to a podiatrist and I told him no.  He was upset that, as a diabetic, I had never been.  He was very stern that I go to one.  I never did go.

Nancy – When you said the other day that Bradley was going home, I wasn’t' sure if it was for the summer or if he would come back.  I'm so glad he will be back for VBS.  I'm sure he will have a good time.

    Good evening all!

     First off-to Deb

    Happy Birthday to you!
    Happy Birthday to you!
    Happy Birthday Dear Deb!
Happy Birthday to you, and many more!

I slept in today and then played in the pool for a few hours. Doug came and mowed for me and the rest joined me in the pool. We had fun. Now I am going over to their house to eat take-out chinese. It is from a super good place, so can't wait.

Joyce - What are your doctors saying about why you are not losing? How much have you dropped so far? Don't give up, it will happen.

Mary - Hopefully Ron will just accept the hose, I feel for him in the heat.

    Everyone have a great evening.

    Rebecca

    Happy Birthday Deb!

Joyce-They just finished our beach trail in June.  It's awesome!  It start's in North San Clemente and goes SO far south, passing the pier and down to Califia Beach.  I love it...We take Maddie (our golden) with us and she loves it.  So get busy and get what you need to do done and come visit.  lol.   How much weight have you lost now?  I lost another 2 pds this week and getting excited to get it over with.

Deb-HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!  HOPING YOUR DAY IS REALLY SPECIAL!  Do you have to work tonight?  Tell us what you got for your birthday. I love hearing about everyones gifts.  I want a new BBQ but probably won't get it. lol.

Nancy-You do the funnest things. Pistol shooting?  I'd love to do that.  I think Larry would not like to put a gun in my hand.  He would think I might make him the target accidentally. lol.

Hauke-You didn't tell me about whether a contest was going around.  Is there?  I figure 25 pds by Oct 11 and 25 before Jan.  What do you think?  Is that doable?

Got to go.......See you all later.........Robin

    Hi Everyone!!!

    Happy Birthday to you!
    Happy Birthday to you!
    Happy Birthday Dear Deb!
Happy Birthday to you, and many more!

Deb, I hope you enjoyed a wonderful birthday!!!!

We did the Walmart thing and Mom's hair is beautiful!!!  Grocery shopping is getting so expensive, isn't it? Wow!! You really gotta watch it.

Hi Rebecca, sounds like you had a really nice day in the pool!!  Are you feeling better now? Enjoy your Chinese food!! Sounds good to me!!!

Gosh, my heart just breaks for Jeanne.  This is all I thought about today and just wish I could do something to help her through this.

Deb, you are right, my son and DIL do need more counseling.  I know they had counseling in the past, but you kinda have to listen to what the counselor has to say and you have to try to make your life better.   My son is just all messed up and I don't know what to do about it.  There are two children involved, Mattie and the adopted daughter, who is 15 years old.  The older girl is still in PA. at her Great Aunts house and spending the summer with her....which is good.

We had a lazy kinda day, kinda relaxing. I am tired and looking forward to bedtime.

    Prayers to all in need.

    Mary

Mary-I've been thinking about Jeanne also.  I can't imagine anything worse that losing a child....I don't care how old  they are, right?  I hope she has a strong testimony of Christ and knows she will see him again.  It is what keeps me sane.

Going to bed early tonight......still week from the stomache thing.....Robin

    Hi everyone....

I'm finally home again - it's been a long day.   Started this morning with the phone ringing - it was Heather (who was at my mom's baking cakes for a wedding she's catering for) - and she needed the vanilla paste that was in the cupboard in MY kitchen....   so we scrambled, got dressed, and headed out....   and we've been on the go ever since.   Now we're home again and all the cakes and desserts are in the freezer.   LOL

So I am so glad to see everyone sang solos today...  and my voice is somewhat better... so here's mine....

    Happy Birthday to you!
    Happy Birthday to you!
    Happy Birthday dear Deb!
    Happy Birthday to you!

I hope you had an absolutely incredible day - full of laughter, fun, and lots of friends and family.  I thought of you several times today - your birthday is one I don't forget as my son shares his with you.... and he really is 29!  LOL  At least for the next year.    So I think it's OK for you to say you're 29 too!  I won't tell.....   29 somehow sounds more exciting than joining Pill, Darla and me in this Speed Zone - the Basic - that we've all entered in the last month.   LOL   so - only because you share Tim's birthday 29th  we'll let you stay 29 if you want.

Deb, I wish you many many more happy days ahead.  Hope you had a special day... and got lots of gifts.

Oh Jeanne... I am so sorry to hear that news.   I know you and your DH just celebrated an anniversary this week... and then you get hit with this horrid event.  You and your family is in my prayers.  ((((((Jeanne & Doug)))))))   May you know your are being held in the center of HIS hand... May you rest in the comfort that only our Lord can give at a time like this.

Well...  Heather wants the computer.... so I'll be back later.   Have a great evening everyone!

    Hauke
