Miss Lizzy's Scrapping and Stamping Group July 20th-26th

    Good evening.

I am asking that all you ladies pray for my friend from the Rose Room as she has lost her son today.

He was her only child and she and her husband really need prayers to help them through this.

Their names are Doug and Jeanne.

    Thanks

Lynn - I am sending up prayers for your friends. I cannot even imagine how painful it must be to lose a child.

I copied my post from last night to put over here.

Hi Everyone! Well, I made it 10 years!  DH and I celebrated on Thursday, we went to a comdey club near buy and inexpensive.  We needed a laugh.

BIL is on a drunk rampage.  FIL fired him.  he is such a bad drunk, he has almost died numerous times.  DH and I think he will be dead before Christmas.  I hope he doesn't hurt anyone else with what he is doing.  The drunks have all the rights.  We cannot 'force' him into any treatment what so ever.  Our hands are tied.

DS #2 went into his allergy test on Wed. He has been praying for over a year for God to take his peanut allergy away.  His allergy is gone!  God is awsome ;-)  He does not like peanut butter so it doesn't matter much anyway.  Easier on me with worry and forms for school.  DS #1 has the worst peanut allergy but he did not want to be retested, he said maybe when he is in third grade.  But, his is happy for his brother.  Because of DS  #1 we will always be a peanut free home.

We went camping in our backyard Friday night.  The kids had lots of fun.  I cannot wait for bed tonight so I can sleep! We did everything just like you would at the campground.  Instead of a lake we had the pool to swim in.  We went fishing in the afternoon at a lake nearby.  I guess the boys went I did not get out of the doctors in time!

Lynn and Cassie - We have a fox running around here.  DH saw it run into the mini forest by our house.  A friend saw it walking down our neighborhood street at 5 in the morning.  I have not seen it.  I'll have to talk to the kids about not running up to it if it come out during the day.

cassie - I was curious.  I know you believe it was the girls imagination running wild.  What got me was if the girls 'saw' someone in the house that does not belong there - why did they not come and tell you?  I guess I would be tossing that question at them. The answer would be intresting.  Good conversation about strangers....I am to serious or parinoid.

    Take care all!

    Amy

Where is everyone today?  I really have nothing to say either :-)

Ryan keeps picking the vegies in the garden.  I love that he loves this because I do not.  BUT, he is so excited that he is brining in baby cukes, yellow squash and zuchinnis.  I had to bum him out and tell him he can only pick raspberries.  I need the others to get a bit bigger!

My kids like to pick veggies in the garden. They just don't like to eat much that they pick. They would love to pick raspberries though.

Amy, Jason was sitting there when they say they someone in the house. Hayley saw it for a just a second she said. Not sure about the other girls. They are just full of drama!

Not much going on here today. Taking Hayley for an orthodontist consultation this afternoon. Tried to make DR appts for Connor and I but they have a new system so they dropped us out of it. I havn't been in for a couple of years but both kids had well check-ups less than a year ago. Now I am waiting for someone to call back on how to fix it because their computer is letting them put in "new" patients. What a pain!!

    Have a great day all!

Mike and I have been picking the vegetables from our garden.  We've got zucchini, tomatoes and cucumbers.  Peppers are almost ready also.  I used the search engine to pull up a zucchini casserole recipe and then, I added Italian sausage.  It was so good!  The whole family loved it!

We did enroll DD in the public middle school for this fall.  I was agonizing over that decision, but once I got the papers and just did it, I felt much better. DD is excited about it also.

Cass - Our orthodontist office is pretty cool.  I have to say that getting braces now is so less traumatizing than when I had them.  They are smaller and kids love the colored bands that they get to choose each time.  Ours has video games in a small room off the main sitting room and there is always a movie playing.  This month they are also having a drawing for $50 in gas and tickets to Worlds of Fun.  Taryn would rather go see her orthodontist than the eye doctor.

Re: Miss Lizzy's Scrapping and Stamping Group July 20th-26th

    Good Morning!

I finally got the box of pictures from my dad's sister.  She sent tons of photos that I have never seen before of myself and the rest of my family.  She forgot about the letter we had wanted.  So I selected 5 of my favorite pictures and will put them on a page with this note "Here are a few photo memories from Gloria".  Two of the pictures are of her daughter and my oldest brother when they were quite little (she's now 57 and my brother is now 46).  Then I have one of my grandparents with my brothers only and then one of my grandparents holding me as a baby (I've never seen these and will be scanning them onto my computer).  What do you all think?   She is not in any of the pics, but I was thinking about printing out one that my dad sent of him and her together about 2 years ago and possibly using one of my grandpa, dad and aunt at my grandpa's 90th birthday party.   I really value your opinion and help on this project.  I will also put her last name on the outer edge like I have done for all the other pages.  Thank you in advance for any and all responses.

Today I am planning on finishing up laundry and changing Dylan's bedding.  Caitlyn has to help fold laundry as this is her laundry week.  I always help the kids as they still aren't sure how to do the folding.  I decided they would take turns doing the families weekly laundry.  It sure has cut down on the amount of times Caitlyn changes her mind about what to wear and throwing unused items in the hamper.    This afternoon, I will be working on my folks' scrapbook I have two pages that I know exactly what I am going to do.  I need to relay the pictures on my brother's and my page. My aunt sent so many good ones that I want to add in and I need to get some more printed off at Walmart.  That page probably won't get done till August 2 or 3.  I will also begin working on my Aunt's page.  Who knows, maybe I'll use more of the pics she sent and do a two page spread.  I am struggling so hard with this decision.

I've babbled long enough.  Have a wonderful day everyone!!

    Kim

As a sidenote to my Aunt not sending a letter -- she has a VERY hard time writing.  Her hand shakes so badly you can hardly read what she has written.  It took me about 30 minutes to decipher and read the note she sent to me with the pictures.   She worries about people being able to read her writing and almost seems embarassed at times. She does not have a computer and does not like borrowing from her housemates.  Not that they would ever say no to her about anything.  In fact, the one is trying really hard to let him install his old computer, that is 100% operational in her room.  I think she is refusing it as she doesn't see really well either.  Her glasses are double coke bottle bottoms thick (scarier still is she drives).  When I asked her about the memory letter yesterday, she sounded almost ashamed of not remembering to do it.  I don't want to make her feel worse about it, so I am letting it drop.  She is a very hard women who rarely lets any emotion other than toughness show through.  She even apologized for not sending one.  I told her not to worry about it.  If she decides to do one and send it, fine.  If not at least she has a better reason than my mom's two sisters.

I think doing the more recent pics with your Aunt would be a good idea Kim. I'd do a 2-page layout also if you want to use all the pics. Your parents are going to love the memories, not wonder why that page is out of sync with the rest. I wouldn't push for the letter either. At least she sent the pictures.

The ortho office was really nice. Hayley said she had a lot of fun LOL. They said she will most likely need braces in the future but not going to do anything now. They will just monitor her every few months. Works for me. I was unsure how doing headgear at night like our dentist had said they might suggest was going to work with her anyway. I wasn't looking forward to anything that would cause her to be more restless at night. We have another appt in a few weeks to talk to another orthodontist so we'll see what they say also but hopefully it will be the same.

    Have a great day!

    Hey everybody,

Haven't had time to post. Got my order for wedding invitations done, the last 30 of them got really monotonous, but they are done. And we had a major deck renovation done, had a crew working in my back yard for three days, but it is done also. Now the fun starts. Cleaning up sawdust, powerwashing, and getting ready to stain and waterproof the wood. But I just have to keep thinking about the end result. Hopefully, some nice patio furniture will be son sale at Labor Day, as we have gotten rid of all the old stuff.

I am too tired to even pick up a stamp now. But have gotten more requests for invitations, so the urge better come back.

Kim just a thought here. Maybe your Aunt could tell you a couple of stories and you could print them. That way she wouldn't have to write and you still get something personal from her.

Patrice you have been a busy lady with work and the invitations. I bet they were nice. Enjoy the deck.

Nothing new here just work today.

    Have a great evening.

Here is a good article I came across while taking a breather this weekend.

Article on Printer Ink–Discount vs. Manufacturers’ Brands

In an article in PC World titled “Cheap Ink: Will It Cost You?” Since “cheap anything” is appealing with today’s high prices on so many things, I thought some of you might be interested in the article too.

The magazine tested a sampling of printers and tested inks from the manufacturer, as well as some inks from discount suppliers.  They found for the most part that while discount inks often yielded more pages per cartridge saving you money, manufacturers’ inks typically gave better print results, and–a very important point for us–the manufacturs’ inks did better in tests as to fading over time.
