Running through to say good morning!   Hoping to finish up a baby hoodie today, seems like I've been working on it forever   :)   With it lighter out later and no school, Jake's bedtime is later, so less time for me to knit!

:)   Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

Hi. I'm new to this chat. I just started taking a knitting class. I tried learning on my own but nothing clicked. I jumped at the chance to take a begining knit class at my local fabric/yarn store. I'm having so much fun. I have made a couple of wash cloths and now a scarf.

    Howdy Yarn Crafters!

Kathie, sounds like you've been busy as usual. Honestly, just don't know how you find the time. You must spend most every waking moment buzzing around. Wish I had half the energy!

Jolene, those longer summer daylight hours can sure mae for a tough time with the youngsters can't it? I miss a lot of the "things" about when my children were younger, but   those longer days, and time changes (those were real confusing for them!) are a lot easier now tat they're older!

Rachelle, welcome! Sounds like you've got a great start on your knitting adventues! Looking forward to "hearing" about all the projects in your future!

I've been working on my crochet projects. Need to get that all finished up in the next couple days if at all possible, then I'm looking forward to finishing Nathan's shirt, which I hope to finish by next weekend so he can have it for his Birthday. Hard to believe he's going to be 11! Where did the years go??

I need to get a bit of weeding done in the garden, and hoping to get my green beans planted next to the peas as they're nearing harvest time. The way the weather's been I'm not at all sure I'll be able to manage a second crop this year, but I'm going to give it my best shot, and the only way I stand half a chance is if I rush things along a bit by planting the beans now.

Hope you're all having a fantastic weekend!

I'm here for a minute...........I guess I don't realize I am busy [?]   Normally I volunteer on Mondays & Fridays at the Thrift Store, then just the regular household stuff with Dr. appts inbetween.   When I work the Estate/House Sales, it's when-ever my boss gets one lined-up...........sometimes 1 a month sometimes not!  Our next one is August 15-16 with work setting up on the 5,6,7 & 12 & 13th   none scheduled for Sept. at this time.

I haven't crocheted in awhile........ :O(  GTA's wil planning a BOOTIE BLITZ now for Nov. 17th - Jan 1st.  I bought a New-Born Baby Doll at the sale today & since it was time for half price I got it very reasonable.  Little girl with all parts correct dressed in a onesie/ born 2-14-85   [this woman had a very nice doll collection]  Our group leader had dolls available for some & e-bay has them for big $$$$$  I'm happy I got this one as I now can try my pieces on her for size!!!!!  Next outfit or sweater I do, I'll take pictures with GRACE wearing them.

I want to welcome Rachelle...............I am not a knitter but will look forward to hearing & perhaps seeing some of your new projects!

I'll say GOOD NITE for now!                         apple           kathie

    Hi Everyone

Work has been busy busy. My daughter picked her green beans Saturday and got five ice cream buckets and half of a five gallon bucket full so guess what we did? Last night she brought in a couple cucumbers and a zuchinni.

Also over the weekend took my two granddaughters to the county fair. First time she saw a cow, pig, sheep up close. It was fun to see their expressions and faces.

So needless to say not much time for crocheting.

Rachelle glad to have you join in. There are some great knitters here if you need any help.

Well better get back to work. Have a great day all. Jeanette

I finally caught up with housework & laundry after working last week!

Now that I have Gracie, I have tried some of the hats on her & found out some that I thought were NEWBORN do not fit her...... the bonnet I made to go with the pink camoflauge dress & booties was tooooo small.  Ripped it out & had enough along with small left-over ball to remake a bigger one!   I will need to go up a hook size if I want to make the things fit her size of a newborn.  Some girls in the group have made the cutest little diaper shirts & hats for Halloween from candy-corn & just orange & yellow yarn........ :O)

I love to see the little ones faces when they see things for the first time....  Janette, what a fun time for you & DD.  Hope soon SIL will be able to join them & catch up on what he is missing!

    Marcia!!!!!!!!!!!! where are you??????????????

    HI everyone

Kathie I love the name of your new addition, Gracie. It is fun to try stuff on dolls. I should be going to Mason City soon and can stop at Hobby Lobby again for you. Will check out and hopefully purchase 2 crayon ombre.

If all goes well DSIL will be in the states around Oct. 11. He is missing out on so much of his little girls lives.

And I agree Kathie Marcia where are you?

I put 15 bags of beans in the freezer last night so we should have enough to last the winter. Next will be sweet corn.

Well better get to my housework and dishes. Have a good night. Jeanette

    Hi Everyone

Marcia it is good too know that you are still out there alive and kicking anyway. I am sorry you are having frustrations. Like you said just keep telling yourself that this too shall pass and it will.

The Board yesterday was awful. I had trouble navigating anywhere so I can see where Kathie's friend was having troubles.

Kathie Crayon Ombre and or High Meadow is on the list. I assume 2 of High Meadow. If different let me know. The only thing about Hobby Lobby I don't like is they aren't open on Sundays. I will have to check out GTA and see the cute onsies.

We would love to have a picture of Gracie too someday in an outfit Kathie.

Hello to everyone else Connie, Betty, Jolene and anyone else I have missed. Have a great day. Jeanette

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome. I have 2 wash clothes done. One is all knit stitch and the other is 2 knit and 2 pearl stitch. I've got pics but I've got to figure out how to load them. My sister in-law can knit better than me (at least thats what my rude nephew says) and I asked her if I was pearl stitching right. She told me she didn't know what the stitches were. If she can knit shouldn't she know? Just a little frustrated with her always deciding to do something when I do. Her and my mother in-law are rude and very competive. Just needed to rant a little.

Rachelle glad you can join us. And please feel free to rant anytime. Most of us do from time to time. We are all good listeners. Sorry that your SIL and MIL are rude. And yes I would think if she is a good knitter she would know what a purl stitch is. I am not at all a good knitter and I at least know that one.

There are very good knitters on Yarn Crafters Chat that can help you with any problem you may have. They knit some great looking items. Jolene makes great little hoodie sweaters and blankets. Connie makes great looking children and adult sweaters. Marcia is good at anything it seems so don't be afraid to ask questions or for help.

Glad you decided to join our group. Jeanette

A question for knitters - does anyone out there use the Boye KnitMates.  I bought a pkg of cable and a pkg of points.  I assumed the points just pushed on, and now I see a wire "P" gadget -  what is it for/how is it used.  There is nothing on the pkg that gives a clue.  I haven't opened the pkgs yet, in case I want to return.

GardenwayKY - sorry I don't know your first name - the wire P thing - if it is kind of like a huge safety pin - it is a stitch holder for cable stitches.  The points are pushed on - helpful if you're using double-pointed needles, or when you put your work down.  (My puppy tries to knit when I lay my work down - at least with the points on, she has to chew through those first.

Hi All!  I've missed reading about you - just caught up on the posts.  Welcome to our newbie!  I finally got to pick up my crocheting on Tuesday, and I need to get a knitting project going now.  I have some lovely yarn from hobby lobby, and it is just itching to get turned into something.  I am in the Secret Sister round, and have an idea for my sister for December.  Now, must get it going.  I'm not getting nearly as many hats/scarves/mittens done as I wanted to for the Project Christmas in our community - but want to keep trying!

    See you all soon!

    ~Betty~
    Be a blessing!
