    Good Morning...

Looks like a half rainy, half sunny day today.  Time will tell.

Hi Applek...I'll join you for coffee.  I just finished the treadmill...so I'm ready for coffee.  Need to go change....Be back in a bit.  Maybe the FM will have been here with the gooey rolls.

Good morning Apple and Grannies to come.  Just a quick stop in to say good moring. I got up a little late this morning. Not too, just a little. But it puts a crimp in my morning prep. My coffee is just now finished I hear.

No real plans other than the usual today. SS, Church and out for lunch. Oh yes, and a SABN!

Thanks for the offer of coffee, but I don't have time to sit. Will go get in the shower. With a song in my heart--------------------   BBL-aaater.

Good morning, I'm a bit late with the rolls but they're here now!! We had a thunderstorm and hard rain earlier this a.m.  Still cloudy and we're not expecting to see the sun today but we know the Son always shines in the GN!

APPLE  You're certainly an early bird today.  Thanks for the coffee.  What's Little Apple been up to lately?

CJ  And you've been on the treadmill already! you good girl!!  Has DH been able to relax from his biking excursion? I know what you mean when you say the bike seats look small.  OUCH~~ I have a girlfriend that's gone with her DH and she said she got a comfy seat from a bike shop.

SUZI  Your day sounds a lot like mine will probably be.  Not a lot going on, just an easy relaxing day.

I'll tiptoe out and check in later for more grannies.

    Re: Grannie Neighborhood July 20th

Just getting back here.  After I left to go change my clothes, DH was getting up and we decided to go out for breakfast.  That's one thing we rarely do, so it's always nice when we do go.  Won't need any lunch today.

Gramsuzi...I always feel off kilter when I sleep in a little.  Seems to throw my whole day off.  That's why I try to stay on a schedule...LOL  I've been trying for a while to figure out what SABN stands for...I know it's about a nap...but just can't figure it out.  Is it Sunday Afternoon ? Nap?

Stylist...We had a hard rain through the night and I noticed one of my tomato plants is laying on the ground (I just took the chicken wire enclosure I had around it off yesterday because it was getting so big).  I'm hoping it's not broken or that the deer came and broke it.  I haven't walked down to the garden yet to see.  Hope all it needs it is a cage to stand it back up Tongue Tied   They make bike shorts that have built in padding...that's what I would need.

Bluespruce...if I stopped to think about the treadmill, I'd probably not get on it...just got to do it..LOL

Good Morning Grannies - look's like most of the GN is sleeping in today!

Thanks FM for the gooey cinnamon roll, went well with my coffee and bacon.  Off to read the paper and then get ready for another day at the bookstore.

Bluespruce hope no rain on your picnic today!  You can send all the rain this way as we really need it.  All the local counties are under a burn ban because of the dry conditions.

    Have a good day!

    Re: Grannie Neighborhood July 20th

Good morning, Apple, Blue Spruce, Cjayh, Suzi and Stylist.  Happy Sunday morning to you all.  Going to be another very hot and humid day here in MO.  No rain and believe it or not we really need it.  I'm leaving after Sunday School to head to Branson.  We need to check in around 4 and it's a 3-1/2 drive.  DD#2, Meghan, is going with me and I am so glad.  I have to go for a three day board meeting for work.  We will meet Monday-Wednesday mornings.  Monday and Tuesday afternoons are free to do as we want with activities paid for.  Tonight we have a big BBQ for all our board and their families (and staff and families), tomorrow night everyone is going to Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede.  We will drive back home Wednesday afternoon.  I always look forward to this meeting every year so much, but this year I am just dreading it.  My, how this heart condition has changed me.  But, I'm still working on it and PTL, the Lord is still working on me, so I'm going to just take it one day at a time.

I feel guilty leaving DH at home with all the garden, hay, yard, etc., but it can't be helped.  It's part of my job and has been for the last 24 years.  Meghan has always loved this meeting and has been going with me (along with Jessica) since she was 1 and Jessica was 4.  They have met so many people through our board from all over the state.

I did get 12 pints of pickles canned yesterday and hope I haven't forgotten to pack anything.  Made a fast trip to see Eli and he has changed so much in just one week.  Hair is falling out and coming in very blonde.  There is no way his daddy could ever deny him, he looks just like him.  He ate cereal for the first  time last night--pretty thin, but he took to the spoon pretty well.  He's also rolling over fairly often now.  He will be four months old on the 27th.

Time to get ready for Sunday School.  I'll try to check in from Branson, but we always have erratic internet service there.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  Stay cool, safe and healthy.

    Re: Grannie Neighborhood July 20th

Morning everyone!  We had macadamia banana pancakes for breakfast.  They were good.  I brought the mix back with me from HI.  Gee, I'd like to have more.  Guess I'll give DD a hint.

No rain here though it is predicted for today.  Yeah, right!  I do see that northern PA is getting rain but it is going east and not coming south.

I don't know what we will do here today.  Probably nothing.  I could already take a nap and I haven't been up that long.  Maybe that is what I should do and get this tiredness out of my system.

We are having steak and grilled veggies for lunch.  Not sure what the veggies will be yet.  But definitely zucchini, onions and maybe potatoes.

Well DD told me that she froze green beans last year without blanching them.  Just washed them off and into the freezer.  She said they were very good.  Figured she didn't know what she was talking about.  I don't care for frozen green beans that have been blanched and frozen.  Well we tried a handful and I cooked them last night and I guess she does know what she is talking about.  They were good and boy does that help when it is so hot here.  I'll just do that with the rest of them.  If it cools down a little then I will can some.

Time for me to go and see what I want to do.  BBL.

Good Morning. I'm a bad girl (and DH) as we didn't go to church today.  We didn't get a lot of rain last night, but at this point a little is too much. Sure wish we could send it down to MimiB. I have stuff to burn and it is simply too wet! It is so wet out, can't even go sit on the deck. Hopefully, the sun will dry it off fast and thoroughly!

    Hi Apple.

CJ, hope the sun shines on you today. You are certainly determined on that treadmill. Maybe you can go walking outside again soon. Breakfast out sounds like fun after the workout.

Suzi, hope you get that SABN in today. With not going to church I guess I don't warrant a SALN one! LOL

Hi Stylist. I'll take a roll of any kind with my coffee. Looks like our rain moved in your direction.

Pat, our picnic is next Sunday. What is a Russian Lily? Never heard of that. Guess I'll have to Google it. Glad the bad weather missed you. Hope it is ok by Alby.

    Time for more coffee..............

Hi Justme....okay...my ears perked up when I heard you say your DD froze beans without blanching them.  Were they really good?  I would probably freeze a lot more if I could just do that and not fool around with the blanching thing.  I'm not real fond of blanched beans  either, but will use them in casseroles or soups.

GrammyDebbie...sending out safe travel prayers for you as you head for Branson today.  Try to enjoy your trip.  Those babies sure do change fast at this stage.

Lily...I don't even want to walk outside anymore...at least while I'm still enjoying the treadmill.  I can have the tv on and watch something that takes my mind off the walking.  Doesn't look like the sun will come out here today....very wet and dreary.

    Good Morning Everyone ....

Sounds like everyone is up and running this morning. The earlier things get done, the better in this hot, sticky weather!

Debbie ... Have a safe and enjoyable trip with your DD. Sounds like Eli is growing by leaps and bounds! Try not to worry on your trip .... there is always help nearby if ever needed and having your DD close by should in itself be reassuring! Just have fun ... sounds wonderful!

Stylist ... The rolls are so tasty this morning. Hope the FM never leaves his job! LOL

CJ ... Sleeping in seems to throw me off too! I am a creature of habit and I need to get back into my early morning routine. Getting up later just doesn't "feel" right to my body.

Hello and Good Morning to the rest of the Grannies ..... Need to get moving or I will be glued to this chair all day!

CJ, Senior Moment! I meant to tell you that Suzi's SABN means Sunday Afternoon Baptist Nap. We Lutherans made it into SALN!!

Debbie, safe driving and we ALL know that everything will be just fine with you this week while in Branson (and thereafter).  Seems strange to think Eli is just starting cereal now. By now my kids were eating thin mashed potatoes from the table and lots of Gerber foods.

Wanda, if you feel like a nap, go ahead and take one. You probably need it!  How did the beans hold up after a year, were they still firm? I froze some spinach this year without blanching, I'm wondering how it is going to be after thawing.
