    My new knee!

I had my knee replaced on May 27th, remember the picture?  I went to the Dr. for my 8 week check up today.  He did x-rays for the first time since it was done.  I saw them and it is absolutely WONDERFUL!  It's straight, as he said, "seated well" and no more pain.  I had to show him how I walked, (all of about 4 feet in the little room we were in) and he said I was walking well, so now I don't have to go back for a whole year, unless I have any concerns between now and then......Gram  Smile

Whoo-hoo!  Must be wonderful.  So glad you had a successful replacement as many have horror stories.  You must have been a very good patient and did the exercises.  Good work!

Thanks for the great news, Gram. I'm glad to know you're pain free. My mom has had both knees replaced. The first one healed a lot better for her than the second one. Hopefully, in time, it will improve too.

    Always love hearing good news!!

    Re: My new knee!

Ohhhhhhh, I am so envious!  I have been trying to get a new knee and can't find a doctor who will do it because of my age.  They all say I am too young (51) but all I know is that I am too young to feel this old!!

I had athroscopic surgery in March and they trimmed some miniscus and scraped out the arthritis and after the doctor saw how bad that knee was he said, yep, you're going to need a new knee, but they don't want to do it for another 4-5 years.  I have to keep a crutch in the trunk of my car because some days the walk in to and around the grocery store is just too much for me.

I refuse to just sit on the porch and rock, so I'm still trying to do all my normal activities (except I had to give up walking for exercise), but I walk with a pronounced limp because I'm always in pain.  I'm so glad your replacement surgery went well and I look forward to the time I can have mine and be pain free.
