THANK YOU MY SISTERS!  GLAD SO MANY WANT TO LOSE!  OK, how about every monday we weigh in the nudies and post.  I am SO excited about this.  I want to poke the plastic credit cards and not the flabby tummy.  I was with Carter and Alex for classes and then all of them the rest of the day.  Kris went to the Dr's today and she now has gained 0 lbs.  The doc says the baby is SO perfect in size and will do another ultrasound in 2 wks.  She also had another Lamaze class.  Said Jeff was the only one out of sinc with the breathing. Said she knows she'll probably kick him out of the labor room cuz he'll be driving her nuts.  lol.

Isabelle comes for a sleepover tomorrow.  She said 'We will make cookies'....ugh.....none for me thanks.  Then she says 'We will go for a movie'....then 'We will go to bed whenever we want because you have no rules gamma Robin'.....amazing.

Tonight we gave John first dose of Melatonan.   He was out in 30 minutes....literally sawing logs.....YES it works.....All doc's said 'No problem'......I brought it up in group and others are using it now and love it. The group are parents of disabled kids.  I learned lots of things......I will tell you tomorow...Right now is beddie bye time.....Bye and thanks for the support........Robin

Robin... that's good news - about Kris and the baby as well as about John.   Just to let you know - most of us discussed it yesterday and we decided that Wednesday is WEIGH IN day -   so today we're having birthday cake in honor of Nancy  (LOL)  and then tomorrow is Challenge Start Day...

So everyone joining us - make sure you step on the scale in the morning - and if you're like Robin... step on the scale "in the nudies" as Robin says it.   Know you don't have to tell us your starting weight, but make sure you write it down somewhere!

Well, I'm off the bed, finally.  Mary's probably already getting up....   LOL

Hi Michelle!  if you're back to work today!  I did send you an email  last week, hope you got it.

    Hi Everyone!!!

Happy Birthday, Nancy!!!!  Cake   I hope you enjoy a Very Special Day!! !Cake  Like Hauke said, calories don't count today, so enjoy yourself. You and Mattie share the same birthday, which I think is so special.  Mattie is two years old today.

Robin, glad the Melatonan is working for John.  Where do you buy that? At a health food store?  I always thought when kids had a hard time getting to sleep like that they were just over tired. It is great there is something to relax them and help them sleep.  I can not imagine Kristy gaining 0 pounds!! Wow, that is wonderful.  I gained 50 pounds with my second pregnancy and ate everything in site.  The other two pregnancys, I gained about 25 pounds.  I am glad we are having another challenge.  I think my body is still adjusting from quitting smoking.  I still want to nibble, especially at night, so now I am tring to have different snacks. With the garden, I am eating more veggies and more "green" at the farmers market.  I am going to have to go back to cooking something extra for me, that I can eat and enjoy without worrying about the calories.  That WW Veggie soup is a lifesaver and nice to have on hand for times when you don't know what to cook.

I ate our first zucchini last night and it was great.  I just steamed it and put some parm cheese on it....great.

Mom has an eye doctor appointment this AM, so that means I get to look at the hospital gift shop...LOL  It is almost too hot to walk out at the hospital, but I could do a short walk, I guess.

Michelle, are you ready for some coffee?  Coffee  It is tasting so good, I am on my second cup...already.   I gulped the first cup down rather quickly...LOL

My thoughts and prayers are with Jeanne and Doug.  I can seem to stop thinking about her and what she is going through.

Wishing you ALL a GREAT day!!!

    Hugs,

    Mary

Cake Happy Birthday Nancy!! Cake May your day be wonderful!

Mary, thanks for the coffee! Yup, sure tastes good.

I haven't had a chance to go back to the weekend posts but it looks like another challenge in the works. Good thing I weighed in the buff on Monday. Wasn't pretty but I'm still retaining and PMS'ing. I'm not loosing hope.

Let's see, this weekend I spent some time cleaning the other house (no, it's not cleaned out yet - don't ask!) then Taffy and I went to the boat landing, walked a good couple miles then swam for a good 2 hours. She's sooooo funny and was so good. I hated to leave but storms were moving in. Sunday I organized some things in the pantry room. I had purchased one of those hand held baggie vacuums last fall but never used it. Well, I got it out and may I say I LOVED it! I think it'll go a long way keeping those bugs out of my pastas, flours, ect.... I put the full baggies into my storage containers and toss a couple bay leafs on top. By having the food in baggies, the smell of the bay leaf won't get into the product. Bay leafs will help prevent weevles and other little critters.

Yesterday I organized my financial system, paid some bills, and went to a education thing at work. Pretty much it. This morning I've a chiropractor apt then will stop at the other house to see where the guys put the dumpster I ordered. My goodness, I had no choice! I was wasting more time going to the dump then re-loading, re-tarping then going the 10 miles to and from the dump. For the $250 it'll cost for the dumpster, it'll save a LOT of time, gas, frustration and aggrivation. This way I can toss junk that won't fit in the truck and I won't have to handle it so many times. I'll work on the house Wednesday after work, Thursday before work (I work the lovely 3-11 shift) and Friday. I'm on vacation next week so will finish up then.

Well, gotta go. Have a wonderful day everyone. Hope all are well and life is good!

    Michele

Re: DC Conversation - Tuesday, July 22

Mary – The hospital didn't tell us too many other "tips".  I've heard in the support group meetings that making sure we get enough protein will help us with losing weight.  That's why we have to take protein supplements.  Congratulations on getting your first zucchini.

Hauke – Did the taxi service survive the day yesterday?  I hope so.  You have been on the go so much lately.  You must be exhausted.  I hope you get some down time very soon.

Nancy – I hope you got the Tower all done.  Yes, I will definitely keep Lowe's in mind for walking on the weekends.  WalMart was very busy, but I couldn't think of another big store close by.  On the news here yesterday morning, they said there were some stations that were selling gas for around $3.80.  They said it wasn't a promotion or anything, that's just where the boss said to sell it.  But I never saw any of it.  There is one station in my town that has it for $3.99.  All the others are still at $4.07.

Doris – In our area, they seem to be changing all the closed-in malls to open air malls.  So in bad weather, the closest malls aren't very good.  So that's why I was trying to find a big inside store.  Thank you so much for the Home Depot/Lowe's idea.

Darla – I hope you had a good night's sleep and are feeling better this morning.

Robin – Kris is doing so well with her pregnancy.  I'm so glad.  Have a great time Isabelle tonight.  I'm glad the medicine is working for John.

Mary – I hope your mom's appt. goes okay this morning.  Could you walk inside the hospital?  That way you won't get too hot.

Michele – I never knew that about bay leaves.  How interesting.  Thank you for the tip.  I bet you are looking forward to your vacation.  But be sure to have some fun time.  You always work so hard when you are off.

The weather wasn't too hot/humid this morning, so I walked outside.  We had storms go through early this morning.  All the way home, I saw lightning.  But it didn't start storming until about 12:30.  Big thunder and lightning, big winds and lots of rain.  It was after 1:00 when I finally when to sleep then my neighbor started with the leaf blower at 6:00!  So I got up and walked.  I know I will go down for a nap at some point this morning.
I don't have any errands to run, so I think I'll be home until time for work.

Morning.... woke up to thunder and lightning here so decided to get up.  But I've been lazing around and am finally getting a change at my computer.    LOL  For some reason Heather doesn't like Rebecca's computer so she's always on mine.

I'm driving her to some job interviews this morning - and then to moms as they have a canasta game planned for the afternoon.  Then at 4 Tim is picking up the girls and they are heading about an hour out of town to my MIL's for turkey dinner.  Seems one cousin is here from South Africa and several others are here from BC and Heather needs to get there as MIL is taking her to BC where she is catering a wedding this weekend, but Tim and Rebecca are coming home tonight.  Heather saw her new apartment last night and loves it.  They should get possession close to August 1st as they are renovating it - new paint, new floors, new appliances.  Once it's done, the girls can move in.... and my life can get back to normal.

Now know I love having them home... but being a speed zone means that I don't go at the same pace they are running... and I'm having trouble getting up.   LOL

I smell coffee... so I'll be back later.   Have a great day everyone!

    Morning girls.

Thought I had better get a note off to you before Barb gets back from getting her hair cut, then she wants us to go to W M, you won't believe it but I have been there so many times that the last time I didn't buy a thing!!

Happy B D Nancy, I will even eat a piece of B D cake for you as there is some left from DN B D and Hauke I am going to have a cup of Dutch Brothers coffee in Rebecca's honor, there is one shop about 1/4 of a mile from our rental house but didn't know if their coffee was good so never stoped---now I will.

I sure got a work out yesterday as we went to several stores and then to IKEA and Costco, my knees were really hurting and I kept dozing off in front of the t v last night so finally went to bed at 8:00 and slept till 7:00 a m, that is when I can tell I haven't completely recovered from my surgery.

I feel okay today, had coffee with DBIL and had a shower so feel human again.

I am not going to join your weight loss as I don't want to lie to you all---LOL cause I know vacation time isn't the time to diet, I am sure I will get a lot of walking done though.  The fair is this week so will be going to that and I am sure more W M trips are planned.

It seems like all I have done is eat since I got here I weighed this morning (forgot to w/o clothes on) but haden't gained but her scales may be differant than mine but I am not going to worry about it!!

Gas--- it hasn't gone down here it is around $4.30---$4,60  but this is a resort town, we got it at Coatco in Portland yesterday for $4.07

The weather has cooled off as the wind is really blowing up the Gorge, big wind storm last night but I slept so good listning to the trees blowing, I am upstairs and there are 2 huge old Oak trees right outside the windows and I have the them open.

I need to go so will try and get back later.    Marge

Thanks for the b-day wishes, everyone. And, the dulcet tones of the choir are "music to my ears".

HAUKE, here you are again with beautiful words. And, yes, we will enjoy the cyber cake----but remember I get that rose in the corner of the cake.

ROBIN, good for John and the meds working for him. Have fun with Isabelle.

MARY, Happy Birthday to Mattie----I remember she was born this day. No zucchini here, but we did have the first tomatoes for dinner, last night. Tell us about the treasures you found at the gift shop.

MICHELE, what a relief when the house is cleaned out. The dumpster is probably a really good idea. Remember to include some "me" time when you are on vacation.

JOYCE, I am so used to pushing a cart at all the store, I will have to forget that when I walk at HD. Let me know how it worked for you. What's with your neighbor? How inconsiderate, even the trashmen don't come until after 7 am.

MARGE, your DS is really keeping you busy. Looks like she wants to enjoy having you there and doing fun things with her. All your activities will probably keep your weight down or the same.

No cooking today, lunch and dinner out.

Thinking about ROBIN saying to weigh in the nudies. If I did that, my scale would scream with fright----the view would not be pretty. LOL

Have a good day my friends.

Hello ladies!  I know your all jealous of me, so I thought I would come and rub it in just a little! LOL.  Well, you all know that Hauke met me at the shopping mall.  She was sitting there in her bright red shirt, couldn't miss her!  And I told her I would be in my bright pink jacket, but it was too warm to wear, so I lied!Embarrassed  We had a great lunch together, great food, but better conversation.  She took some pictures, I havent seen them yet (hint hint)  I said I would post them for her when I got them.  So if you want to see them, you gotta bug her!

Hauke, did you read yesterdays CC of the adventures AFTER lunch?  I never did buy that black dress [:'(]  so I had to make it up to DH and buy him chocolates.  $15 for 8 chocolates, and then apparently there too rich for his taste!Sleep  Oh well, some other time!

Time to get my kids outta the house and to my SIL for lunch/swim date.  I think we got frost last night.  Confused

It feels like a mouth in foot kinda day!

    Good afternoon, my new friends,

From what I've been reading today, it seems like someone special is having a birthday today.

Nancy........ Cake   Happy Birthday to you and to my brother's grandson.  Sounds like you have loads of friends and well wishers.  I still wish I knew everyone better, but in time I will.  Hope you have a wonderful day.  Here is your gift.......  Gift

Robin.........What is Melatonin and what is it used for? Confused  I have heard it mentioned, but never asked anyone about it.

Michele........Are you drinking cyber coffee? Coffee  I love the way Mary serves you up a cup everyday.

Joyce.........Thanks, I am feeling much better today. Yes

Marge.........I don't know you very well, yet, either, but I understand knee pain.  Hope you got come good rest and your knees feel better today.  Those gas prices are enough to make a person feel ill.  Ick!

I hope I didn't leave anyone out.  I am being a little lazy today.  DH and I spent several hours at his mom's yesterday.  I don't do Mondays very well.  I am pretending today is Monday, LOL!  I would love to get on the band wagon with all of you 'determined-to-lose-weight' ladies.  I have been on a 'give up' pattern since my wedding last August.  I have tried so many things and I always gain the weight back.  I guess I am a whimp.......But don't feel sorry for me, because I am not ready to get real, as Dr. Phil says.  I just don't know what to try next.  I need lots of support and DH really doesn't worry about his weight.  It is even harder if he doesn't intend to join me on the whole changing of habits, thing.  I'll keep praying for strength to make up my mind and figure out how to change my old habits.

Well, on to the laundry and trying to think of supper.  I'll check back later today.  Hope you all have a wonderful day and evening.

    Darla   Smile

Hauke, Char says there are pictures of your lunch together???? Hmm!!!  Can't wait to see them!! LOL  I am glad you and Char had a great visit and lunch!!! Char, I am sure those chocolates were to die for!!! LOL

Marge, shopping till you literally drop!!! Good for you!!!!  It sounds like you are having a great time and I am happy for you!!

Hi Darla, glad you are feeling better!!! When I diet, I don't announce it to Mom and Ron, I just make myself "other" foods.  It is hard though to diet when there are other people to cook for.

I am eating our garden lettuce, which is so good.  I ate some salad for dinner and I might have some more for supper.  We had a cooked lunch so supper is what anyone wants to eat.  Mom's eye doctor appointment  went well today.  I made an appointment for myself for in August as I need a check up and new glasses.

Nancy, I hope you are enjoying your birthday!!!  I didn't find much in the gift shop.  They were putting things away and getting out different things that were too big to mail....LOL  I am always looking for SS things, so hopefully next time I go there will be more eventful.

    Mary

    Hi Everyone.

Nancy I hope you're having a wonderful birthday.  Today is one of my half-sister's birthday as well.  Tomorrow is a cousin's birthday.

I'm about pooped.  Kenny, Doris (Kenny's sister) and I went to Shipshewana today.  For those of you that don't know Shipshewana is a tourist destination in a big Amish area in northern Indiana.  Of course we had to have lunch there and we visited several stores.

Tomorrow we're going to Michigan City with Patti and Jimmie.  We'll be going to the discount mall.  Another of my favorite places.

Saturday and Sunday at Tom & Greta's was fun.  Lucas still isn't to sure about the walking thing.  He looks around and makes sure there is something he can grab.  Then he takes a couple of steps and kind of lunges to grab something.  Lucas wasn't his usual happy little self.  The doctor told Tom & Greta to take his bottle away which they did last Wednesday.  Going into the pool made him happy though.  That was alot of fun but we didn't stay long.  I thought it was a bit to cold.

The washer is calling me so I'd better get a move on.  Take care everyone.

    Carol
