The Rose Room, ***Tuesday July 21, 2008***

    Good Morning all!

Let's see, this weekend I spent some time cleaning the other house (no, it's not cleaned out yet - don't ask!) then Taffy and I went to the boat landing, walked a good couple miles then swam for a good 2 hours. She's sooooo funny and was so good. I hated to leave but storms were moving in. Sunday I organized some things in the pantry room. I had purchased one of those hand held baggie vacuums last fall but never used it. Well, I got it out and may I say I LOVED it! I think it'll go a long way keeping those bugs out of my pastas, flours, ect.... I put the full baggies into my storage containers and toss a couple bay leafs on top. By having the food in baggies, the smell of the bay leaf won't get into the product. Bay leafs will help prevent weevles and other little critters.

Yesterday I organized my financial system, paid some bills, and went to a education thing at work. Pretty much it. This morning I've a chiropractor apt then will stop at the other house to see where the guys put the dumpster I ordered. My goodness, I had no choice! I was wasting more time going to the dump then re-loading, re-tarping then going the 10 miles to and from the dump. For the $250 it'll cost for the dumpster, it'll save a LOT of time, gas, frustration and aggrivation. This way I can toss junk that won't fit in the truck and I won't have to handle it so many times. I'll work on the house Wednesday after work, Thursday before work (I work the lovely 3-11 shift) and Friday. I'm on vacation next week so will finish up then.

Well, gotta go. Have a wonderful day everyone. Hope all are well and life is good!

    Good morning.

IM you had a busy weekend off. I hope that you can get your other house done then you will have no worries there.

Went to the chiro and he thinks it's muscles. it's not any better this morning.

Ladies thanks for the concerns about me. I am just worried about Jeanne. What I'm feeling right now is normal for a person who has went through this. It just hurts knowing that a friend has to go through the same thing. (((((Jeanne and Doug)))))))

Well as of now it looks like I won't be going on my trip this weekend. I am very disappointed about that and I know that Lyle is also. We are hoping that the back will improve enough but darn I would hate to be on the bike and have it hurt. He will go without me since reservations with friends.

Well off for some coffee and get ready for work.

    Good Morning Rosies,

Looks to be another HOT one here....102* today!!   I am thinking of stopping at WalMart to pick up some groceries after work...I just hate going back out in this heat.

Pip, that is great that your niece enjoys spending time with you....enjoy the company!!

Lynn, I am so sorry your back is still giving you trouble...have you had a massage...that's what really helped me...she got in there and worked on all those muscles......knock on wood I haven't had any pain in a week.

Got a call yesterday that hubbys car has a recall...what a PIA!!! Would you believe it is just some screws in the retractable roof...oh well he will take care of it on Thursday or Friday when he is off!

I am off to work in a few....found out I have to have my 90 day review this week...I haven't had one of those in YEARS!!!! I think it is going to happen tomorrow!

Jeanne keeping you and Doug in my thoughts and prayers!

     Good Morning Ladies -

Hugs for you this morning Jeannie.  You are being remembered.

Lynn, sorry you will have to miss your trip, but I can't imagine being on a cycle with a back like that either.  Doesn't even sound like an option.

I think I need a visit with one of you gals with a pool!!

Well I just had a visit from one of the fox again. And the jerk hollered at me. How rude. The other one was at the neighbors as they were going back and forth. Don't know why they keep coming back as we don't leave the cats food out at night because of wild animals. I just want to slap it when he hollers at me. I called it a nasty name and then thought well how mature is that. Like it understands. LOL

Amy I have been thinking about you also this past weekend. I hope your hanging in there.

Pat it is really breezy here today. I don't think it will get to hot.

    Off to work I go.

A very miserable day here.  About three yesterday afternoon the wind came up and we now are socked in with smoke.  the wind was at 40 mph.  Will have to take sinus tablets to work.   The fire west of me has burned about 47,000 acres of National Forest Land.  There is also tribal lands to be contended with also.

Lynn Hope you back gets to feeling better.  Also hope you do not get a lot of this smoke up there.  It is nasty.  Did you get a chance to talk to Jeanne.  I did the other day.   One can only keep her surrounded with prayer.

Oof it is so hot and humid here today. Dh is at the dentist. His filling fell out the other day and he has a hole in his front tooth. He's in for a double root canal and 2 crowns but he's only getting temps today. Emily is inside playing with her tool set. I think I'll take her to the beach tomorrow even though I can't stand the beach - its something to do and it keeps her occupied.

I hope you all have a good day.

Re: The Rose Room, ***Tuesday July 21, 2008***

    Good afternoon everyone.

Kelly's Mission:  Time to attack the clothes pile.  You know where that is!  Grab some hangers or start folding.  Do not put away anything that you hate.  If you don't love it out it goes!

IM - Hope you get to see this.  Sometimes when we bring the flour into the house it already has the eggs of the little buggers in it.  I always put a bag of flour in the freezer for a week to kill anything like that.  Your sealed bags will keep the bugs (if you have eggs in the flour) from drifting over to the pasta, cereal, crackers, etc.  The dumpster sounds like a good idea.  Nothing like moving to make you decide what you want to live with and what to do with the rest of it.

Lynn - Can your Chiro. prescribe a muscle relaxer for you?  How about exercise to strengthen the back muscles?  I don't think you should try doing that with your back hurting so bad.  Shame you have to miss your trip.  LOL at your fox and the nasty name.  Do the neighbors have compost piles or garbage cans that the fox can get into?

Pat - Good luck with your review.  I know you'll do well.

Pip - DH's brother picked him up for work this morning.  It looked like it was going to rain and before DH got to the front door we got a heavy downpour.  Then it was over in about 5 mins.

Stacy - Same here.  I heard the garbage truck in the area so I went out with cold water for him.  I think he was very glad to see me.  He skipped 2 houses to get to me and then backed up to get their garbage.  Enjoy your day at the beach.

I have to finish my errands today, laundry is almost done.  Not much else yet.  Going out for dinner tonight.  SIL-J's birthday.

    Have a great day............Dori

I just lost my whole post!  Dam!

Dori, I've never heard about freezing flour. That is a great idea and I'm going to do that from now on. Great suggestion!

I've tried the muscle relaxers and they make me so stupid that I can't take them.  I hate the way they make me feel. Bed rest is the only thing that gets me over a back attack and I know that's not possible for you Lynn.  Maybe that massage will help.  What color is your fox? The only time I've ever seen a fox in Oregon was on a trip to Medford. I saw one running along I-5. Looked like he was trying to race the cars. Very pretty...red with a big fluffy tail.  So what exacly did you call him?  I can only imagine, LOL! What kind of mischief do they get into? I imagine they are preditors like cayotes and we have plenty of those around our neighborhood.

Stacy, I know Emily loves the beach!  Everybody else and their uncles are probably there too.Sorry about Heath's tooth.  I know that's a huge expense!

Pip, that's great to be able to spend some time with your neice! I hope work is  better with your new hires. They must be pretty will into the routine by now.

Laura, who did you go through to get your tickets?  I usually book stuff through Orbitz. They're prices are pretty good but I've heard that the airlines themselves usually offer the best deals. I hate calling around. I need to do that this week. Time is speeding by.

Pat, be sure to tell them what a great job you are doing. Reviews are such  bs for a really good employee and I'm sure they are very happy to have you on their team.  I know you'll get a rave review! Good time to suggest a raise!

I'd better get the  bed fixed and start on my procrastinatiion list!  Tom will be back and I'll still be in my jammies!  Later gators!

    Hi Rosies!

It's a bit on the cool side here today.  Supposed to only be 72° later on.  Need to take DS#4 to the orthodontist later and then to Costco to pick up an Rx.

Roma, I did some checking for good rates at Expedia.com.  Found out which airlines had the lowest prices (Northwest for me) then went to their site.  And really, their rates were even a little lower so I booked through them.  Did the same thing for the rental car.  Hope you find a good deal.  DH and I are flying in on the 7th and home on the 14th.  So for anyone, you're welcome to show up on or between any of those days.

Off to get lunch.  Hugs to all.  Have a great Tuesday!~~~Laura

    Afternoon Roses,

Laura, it's overcast and a little breezy outside here as well.  Kind of afternoon that I may find myself at Starbuck's or Tully's for a hot one.  Although, I do need to empty out that remaining closet in the family room, ughhhhhh.

Perhaps if I empty it out, get a coffee out, I'll return with enthusiam and vigor to do the toss, sort, restack shuffle.  Such a pain..

The good news is my neighbor and I went to see Mama Mia!  What a delight that was.  Meryl has done it again... who knew she could sing and dance like that.  Hope you're all able to go if you haven't already done so.  It's a real chick flick.  I think there were three gents in the audience, the rest were women and not many gray haired ones at that!

Okay, this is me waging, raging at said closet.  Adieu Roses,

    Jaz

Ugh....it is saying it is 99* here but feels like 104*....what the heck does that mean??  All I know is that it is hotter then HE!!

I stopped at WalMart afer work and was back home by noon...it is just too hot top gbe outside...I actually thought of going out and floating around for a while, but the air conditioning just feels so good!

I got a bunch of things together for a garage sale on Saturday...I am donating all of it to SteinMart...they are doing the sale in the parking lot and all the money goes to Charity. I found at least a dozen table cloths for a table I don't even have anymore...I am sure someone can use them!!

Jazz, my youngest daughter Kimberly will be home for a 10 day visit on Friday...she wants me to go with her to see Momma Mia....looking forward to it now!!!

Thinking of making BLTs for dinner...but still have a couple of hours to decide...hubby usually gets home by 7:45,,,makes for a late dinner. On Sunday I ate earlier but didn;t enjoy it..I would rather just wait and eat late with him!
