Spring coats...

We were just chatting on Critter Chat about how there seems to be no more Spring weather.  It goes from Winter directly to Summer.   That reminded me of Spring coats.  When I was a little girl I loved my Spring coats...so colorful and light.

Anyone on here remember Spring coats?

Oh yes!!  Mine were always pastel pink, yellow, blue, or white.  I have a picture somewhere of a play I was in during high school....I'm wearing my short white spring trench coat!  I think it was polyester.    The ones  when I was little were usually that......boucle? material -- the nubby stuff that Jackie Kennedy's suits were often made from.  Loved them!  Usually wore them Easter Sunday & beyond. 

Ah, yes, I remember the spring coat so well.  Short, pastel, nubby, little collar, one big button or two, worn new at Easter (with a hat perhaps for church, maybe even white gloves).  Look funny to me now when I see the gathered skirt of the fancy dress underneath the short coat.

Patent leather shoes with white socks until you got old enough for "stockings." whoo-hoo. Growing up!

Summer, you have to be the sister I never had LOL.

maybe a spring sweater.....as I grew up in S. Calif.....and now living here in AZ...a spring coat would be a winter coat too.... 

My mom and all my aunts had spring coats.  I had them too.  The spring coat was apparently replaced by the rain coat with zip-out liner.  Now everybody has "spring hoodies" which don't look too good with white gloves! 

I have a spring jacket that I bought a couple of years ago from Lands End. I love it. It is the perfect weight. I wear jeans all the time and it would really work with anything.  I also wear sweat jackets alot.  But this jacket is perfect for when I'm going somewhere but want to wear something other then a really casual sweat jacket!  It is clay colored - really off white - with a light blue inside. 

My mom used to dress us so pretty in the springtime, for Easter usually. One of my fav spring coats was a tangerine mohair coat. And in my avatar, to the left of the ET vase, you can just barely see the brim of that old straw hat of mine that I used to wear with this coat. LOL!

I remember  Spring jackets. Lightwieght,sometimes a hooded sweatshirt type thing. I guess Im too young to remember them being called coats.
