My toad got in his abode today!

One of my toads was in front of the house, kind of lost looking, this morning. I bought a toad abode beginning of spring, and put in one of my flower beds.  It has been taken over by the flowers, and I saw him , so, wedged it behind a flower pot and the porch wall.  I shooed him toward it, and he put his head in. Later, looked, and he was all in . LOL! I hope he goes back to it tomorrow. A good place for him.

Oh Catmint!  How cute!  That's got to be a happy little toad  :)

I had a cute little toad house, never had a toad live in it - but it was still cute!

In other news - I almost ran over a turtle today ONE THE EXPRESSWAY!  Little bugger was moving right along, I was able to strattle him.  Not sure how many others would miss him.  Crappy place to be a turtle.  Too much speedy traffic for me to stop & get him across.  I just drove over him & prayed for him! LOL.

How cool is that!  I've had two toad abodes and the only thing that ever lived in them were spiders. LOL!

I checked on him tonight, and he had his head poking out. LOL! He looked happy.  I'm not sure if that is the one that comes from the barn, or not. I don't think it is. The one from the barn has more stripes, marked really pretty. This one is too, but, not so many stripes.  I pick my toads up, and talk to them. Anyone else do that? LOL! People must think I'm nutty, if they here me. I talk to all my animal, my horses, too.

I was at the barn, took a newspaper with me, and was reading it, while standing there with Angel. She must have been jealous, she reached over my shoulder, and took a bite of the paper.

We had to wait for a box turtle going out the holler the other morning. I started to get out and move him, but, he was moving pretty fast. So we just waited.

And I saw my snapping turtle in the big water hole at the culvert. That is the only hole the ducks won't go in. Wonder why?? Huh?  Indifferent

Catmint, how interesting about your turtles. We see box turtles occasionally in the woods. My husband says there used to be more of them about, when he was a kid.

Last year, we saw a snapping turtle in the woods for the first time. It was huge! We followed it down the trail as it was heading for a stream. When it heard us, it turned to face us, and kind of sat down under its shell. I believe they have powerful jaws. We walked in a wide circle around it, believe me.

The first time I ever picked up a toad, it peed on my hand! Have not picked one up since. But I do talk to animals.

Toad Abode, lol, how cute.  What's Mr. Toads name?

You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometime, you might find, you get what you need.

LOL Catmint, I kind of cheated--I bought little toad statues and put outside my toad house.  :) Never saw any real ones inside it but there are real ones out there in my garden so maybe one day. ;)
