Margie, glad SIL is doing a bit better. Hope you are able to get your curio cabinets done. I need to get to mine also. And in answer to your question, I'm not very awake yet.

Kim, sorry I forgot to mention you yesterday. I am going to have to make a list of everybody's name and post it right near the computer. I forgot Ceeare too. Might do some polish sausage and sauerkraut in the crock pot and have some mashed potatoes to go with if I can find the crockpot liner. I might be out. And I either need to can some of the green tomatoes or fry a bunch of them.like every night until I get them used up.

Hope we get some overtime today but not sure if we will.unless an awful lot of mail came in last night. Usually do on Wednesday though. Finally got an appointment set up again to get my hair highlighted and cut. That will be next Wednesay and next Tuesday I go to ortho doctor so he can set up Synvisc injections I hope. Knee was semi Ok yesterday. It did swell and hurt some, but not as bad as some of the previous days. Last night I didn't cook at all, just ate half a canteloupe.

Waving hi to everybody. Not awake enough to try to address everybody.

everyone! Nice cool 58º here this AM, supposed to get near 80 later. Need to water the garden & may be able to pick some beans later, they looked close yesterday!

I need to dust, sweep & mop, and have a haircut, finally, right after lunch; needed cut 2 weeks ago, but my lady was on vacation, so I'm looking very shaggy. We have a family reunion on Saturday, so I need to figure out what I'm going to take to that.

Margie, hope you were able to get some more rest. Glad to hear SIL is feeling better; have been keeping her and all of you in my prayers. Supper sounds great!

Sherry, hope you get some overtime, but take it easy on your knee. Cantaloupe sounds really good, need to get another one. Grocery store uptown had the biggest ones I'd ever seen last week, but wanted $3 for them - too much!!

Laura & Sheila, thanks for chat last night!!

Waving hi to all everyone, will try to stop back later. Have a great day!!

    hugs, Lisa

Good morning all.  Got to sleep in a bit.  But now we are up and Ed is getting ready for concrete to come.  Holly is helping and so is yours truly.  Want to get the bathroom/bedroom cleaned before they come.  We had a big breakfast for us, eggs and leftover waffles I just heated up and melon from the garden.  It's my passport melons which look like cantelope but are green inside wiht a hint of orange.  Really good and sweet.  Lunch is BLT's and supper is probably Red Lobster but we'll decide for sure when we go.  :)

Margie, glad your SIL is feeling better.  Don't over do it with the heat, a few things a day is fine.

Sherry, are you getting in your swims?  Hope you get the overtime you want.

Lisa, hope you have a good day and that the kiddies are good for you.

Hi to everyone else.   HOpe you all have a great day.  Oh, Meant to say, Karen, your GD has a great day for an anniversary.  LOL  Wonder why I'd say that.

Jill, never heard of that kind of melon. Sounds good though. We used to go to Red Lobster for our anniversary or in later years I would get takeout from there and bring it home. That probably is part of my issue with Red Lobster now

    Where is Patti this morning?

Good morning!  REALLY quick run through on the way to work.  I work 8-5 today.  A normal work day, just 8 hours!  I love those days.

Ham, scalloped potatoes and mixed veggies for dinner... all made by someone else in the household, so out of a box and bag!  Which is ok, of course as long as I don't have to make it!  It has been 95 for the past week, only expecting 87 today.  Wow, almost winter!  Kate called last night and said she's having a blast.  It was good to hear from her.

    Got to hit the shower!

Hugs and love to all who visit and those who don't, too!

    Happy Wednesday!

    Mornin' Junies!

Looks to be a beautiful day, in low 80's and low humidity.

I want to get lawns mowed today.  Should do another dose of Round-Up too.

I need to run to Super WalMart while boys are in summer school.  I need to get Ashleys birthday card and gift (her bday is tomorrow).  I'll also pick up cat and dog food and a couple other things while I'm there.

Got the boys list for school supplies, so now we can go through and see what we need to go and buy. I have a bunch of things here already.  But they always seem to come up with new things.  This year I see Clorox wipes on the list.  Pretty soon we'll be buying the toilet paper too.  lol  I want to go and do that soon before things start getting picked over.

I am making stuffed peppers for supper.  I'll make mashed potatoes and corn to go with.

I put up 7 pints of Dilly Beans yesterday, so, I guess canning season has begun!  Won't be long and everything else will start too. Tons of little teeny cukes on.  The beets are getting to be nice size too.

I am doing my usual Wed. chore of bedding.  I have our bed all done already, sheets are in washer.  Gotta go strip the boys beds yet and get clean sheets on and wash up the dirty ones.  Will be a nice day for hanging them out to dry.

Jill - hope you have a good day with Ed.  Don't work too hard!  Red Lobster sounds excellent!  We don't have one anywhere close, so, I don't get to one very often.  The commercials always make everything look sooooooooo good.  Enjoy!

    Good Morning June friends!!

Couldn't sleep in this morning, so I'm trying to get a lot of things done, just finished filing papers and tried on a bunch of clothes I bought yesterday. A lot of stores are having good summer sales, bought mostly denim shorts and t-shirts, good camping clothes!! Now I'm off to clean out the garage and sweep and organize, that place is a pigsty. Will be back soon with coffee and to read the posts.

    Have a great Wednesday!!

    Hi Girls!

The only thing I have planned for today is to clean my house!  I told the boys last night that they were each going to have a few chores to do too, so that it wasn't an all day event!  I already got the laundry started.  Man, does it ever multiply!!!

Margie, glad to hear that sil had a good day yesteday.

Sherry, I am always so impressed with the elaborate meals you make for yourself.  Especially with your busy schedule.  I would probably be too lazy!

Jill, enjoy Red Lobster.  I haven't been there in ages - we don't have one that close to us.  Happy anniversary!!

Cherie, glad to hear that you have a "short" work day today.  So nice that someone else is fixing dinner - does he do dishes too!!  Nice that Kate is having such a good time.  Her life will change dramatically after the baby comes.  When is she due?

Patti, have fun at wal-mart, espcially with the kids in school you can shop in peace (priceless!) LOL at the toilet paper comment!  I know what you mean though.  Jason is in public school and this is the first year we have had to provide ANY school supplies, but there have been major budget cuts, and he came home with a supply list this year.  I really don't mind buying pencils, crayons and that type of stuff, to me that is part of the fun and excitement of the new school year, but hand sanitizer, kleenex, clorox wipes, come on!!  And  also this is the first year we have had to pay for bus service $180.00 for the year, for after school only.  A round trip bus pass is double that.  I feel like I am getting nickle and dimed to death at times!!!

Well, I better get going and change the laundry loads.  Want to get a few things done before the boys wake up.

Waving hello and sending hugs to everyone I missed.  Have a good day everyone!!

    Kathleen

Good morning Ladies...I just finished putting sealer on the trellis we made for the honeysuckle...wanted to get it done before the heat sets in for the day...it's to be 100 again. Have the water going in the front yard. It's difficult to keep up in this weather!

Margie...I'm glad your SIL has had some better days with the O2...hope you get those curio cabinets done today...they can be tedious!

Sherry...I had Sinvisc injections a few years ago in my left knee. Ended up having a total knee replacement. I need to have the right one done but I'm stubbornly putting it off as long as possible, maybe forever! Like your's, mine swells when I'm on it for awhile.

Lisa...I am with you on the shaggy hair...I'm headed to the beauty shop later this morning. I'm hoping for a miracle!

Jill...Happy Anniversary...GD's husband is taking the day off and they are spending it at the beach, then going to dinner somewhere in Miami...they live at Key Biscayne but are looking at a move to Denver within the next month. Need to soak up as much beach as possible before they move.

Cherie...someone else in the house to cook! Wow! That would be great! I wouldn't care what they fixed either! In reality my husband is very easy to please...last night he wanted Chinese so I ran into the nearest town which has a great little Chinese takeout place...great food! and I don't like Chinese!

Patti...I wish I could send my man to your house for stuffed peppers...he loves them and I really can't stand the smell of them! Don't know why...

Deb...our electricity goes off quite often...we are at the end of the line and if anything goes wrong along the line we're off...glad you have your mom close where you can go stay with her! Our son is a quarter of a mile away but if our's is off so is their's!

Dowie...sounds like you had good luck at the summer sales...I've been thinking about making a trip to Wichita to check them out but so far haven't made it. Everything will be gone by the time I get there!

Belle...have a great day with your family!

Actually...each of you have a great day! karen

Re: June Cleaver Club Wednesday 7/23/08

    Good Morning June Friends!!

Like the rest of you, I have a busy day ahead.  Need to clean floors AGAIN.  So sick of people not cleaning up their spills.  I also need to straighten up the computer desk AGAIN.  Can't believe how fast it gets nasty.  I am going to make a casserole of sorts with leftover chicken, leftover green beans in mushroom soup, and rice.  If needed, I'll add the leftover porkchop from last night.  I'll also make a salad to go with it before the lettuce goes bad.

Margie, Glad SIL is breathing better.  Will continue praying for her.  Your dinner sounds good as always.

Sherry, what time should DH be at your house for dinner??  He LOVES the sausage with saurkraut meals.  Hope your knee holds up till you can get to the ortho.  I had a really hard time getting the 6oz can of limeade.  Commissary was the only place I could get it.  Fry's used to carry it, but since I haven't shopped at a Fry's in 6 years who knows.  If push comes to shove, COMPLETELY thaw the 12oz can, shake it up really well and then measure 6 oz in a measuring cup or put it all in a measuring cup and pour off exactly 1/2.  Trust me the pie is so good you'll want to make it a second time.  I sure do and there is only 1 and 1/2 pieces out of it.  Both of which I ate.  By 9:30 it was perfectly set.  Mind you, it is a looser cream pie than some.

Lisa, thanks for the watering reminder.  Today is my day again.  $3 is high, but before leaving it, I would have weighed it.  I prefer to buy things priced by the pound.  I paid $3 for cantelope once.  I kid you not it was just under 6 pounds.  I have not seen one that huge since.

Jill, Red Lobster sounds great.  You and Ed are going to be too busy today considering it's your anniversary.  Enjoy your dinner out.

Cheri, hope your 8 hour day stays an 8 hour day.  How nice to have someone, even if it is someone who makes you crazy, cook for you.  Enjoy that.

Patti, I was lurking on the KC BB and one family IS being asked to provide TP to the school.  Do you guys provide copy paper like us?  I don't mind the clorox wipes as long as they are ACTUALLY used in MY child's classroom to wipe down the door handles, desk tops, and any areas that are accessed by all.  I don't feel they should be used more than once a week (Fridays before the kids leave) because without any germ exposure, our kids are getting sick more often and the bodies are having a hard time winnning the battles (at least that is what the news reported a few months back).  Stuffed peppers sound good.  I hated them as a kid, but now they sound good.

Deb, hope your electricity gets restored soon.  Enjoy your unplanned visit with you mom.

Dowie, glad you found some clothes on sale.  I can never find anything I like.  With my weight as high as it is though, I am not even looking anymore.

Belle,  have fun at the casino and come home with more than you left with.

Kathleen, I am the mean parent of the neighborhood according to my kids.  Mine don't get to go out and play much before 1:00 do to chores and math worksheets and reading.  Both of my kids struggled in math this past school year.  I am using the summer months to help get them up to where they are supposed to be.  I also don't let mine out after 8.  They have a schedule for the summer, and I am doing my best to keep them to it.  $180 for a bus fee??  That is ridiculous.  Whatever happened to Kids First??

Well I better go.  To anyone I missed and those yet to come HAVE A WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!!!

    Kim

If the kids are still alive at the end of the day, then I've done my job.

Re: June Cleaver Club Wednesday 7/23/08

    Hi again,

I am taking a break, having a cup of coffee.  I am using the new creamer by coffee mate, "sweet Italian cream"  mmmmmm good!

It is still over-cast and cool here - patio thermometer says 63.  I hope it stays that way, but doubt it will.

Donnie is still sleeping, Tommy is dusting the living room furniture, and I will get Jason started  cleaning the downstairs bathroom in a few minutes.  Donnie has been staying up later so I have allowed him to sleep in  some.  Don't want a tired, grumpy teenager on my hands!

I made a double batch of Choc Chip banana bread today. It smells so good in here right now.  It made 2 loaves and I made muffins with the rest.  I will post the recipe later - very good and easy.

Decided on Dorito casserole for dinner tonight (my recipe is different from Sherry's) I decided I am going to double the recipe so we have some for lunch tomorrow.  I am going to make a tossed salad with it.

Hope you guys are having a good day

    Smile Kathleen

Morning! I think I'm on the edge melting away. Right now at 9:45 it is 86 degress in my house. It's really is a challenge to clean when it's this hot. I just got done making a jello poke cake. I know I shouldn't use the oven but I needed to make something for DH to take to work. I also got the bathroom cleaned , sweept and mopped. Tonight it's going to be homemade pizza for supper. Last night I spent about 2 hours pulling weeds from the curbing. We have rock in it and it's really hard to pull weeds with the rock everywhere, I got a few boobos(SP)! Tonight I need to finish. Anyone want to come and help? I have lots of cold ice tea!!!

Jill, Happy Anniversary! Hope your day is as special as you are!

    Sheri
