R&R: Depo's OMG Easy Roast Beef~ worth waiting up for!

DH works 2nd shift and I'm always looking for meals I can throw in the crockpot for him to have when he gets home at 1am.    I threw this together around 4pm, and kept an eye on it because I have a newer crockpot and they run a little hotter.   The first few hours, I was worried, the beer smell was overwhelming, but the end result was delicious.   It doesn't scream BEER at all, just deep, rich flavors.   I used stew meat because I'd picked up some on a great sale, added some baby carrots and next time would throw in some quartered potatoes.      Thank you to Depo for a yummy, simple recipe that will let me feed DH and still get a good night's sleep    :)

No picture taking at 1am, but will be taking a serving with me to my parents today for lunch, will try to snap one then   :)

Gm  Jolene,  That sounds like a wonderful recipe and I can imagine how great it was~  Did you have a lot of liquid left over?   Nothing like a beef stew~   Delicious and great over broad noodles as well~  Yum, yum, Thanks for your review~  Janie

Hi Janie!   Yes, there was lots of liquid, if I'd used a roast I'd have been very tempted to shred the meat, serve it on a nice thick roll or texas toast and then spoon the juice over.    Or you could definitely bring it to a boil with a thickener and make a nice thick gravy with it.    Never done it over noodles, we always do the New England version with potatoes, carrots (and my gram would use turnips and cabbage, bleh!)    :)

Jolene, That sure does sound good. I'm not a beer fan, but I don't hate it. My kids won't be able to taste it? I'm a little worried about it.

Depo, This sounds so satisfying as a meal. Thank you for posting the recipe.

    Waving to everyone  :)

Chefly, this definitely doesn't scream BEER at all, I couldn't taste it in the finished product, but that could also depend on the brand beer you use?
