    Wednesday: What's Cookin' (July 23, 08)(6:18 a.m.)

    Good Morning,

It's 76 out and we're to be around 100 or more today.

LunseeKs, sure hope your a/c gets fixed today.

Lunch will be leftover baked spaghetti, garlic bread and Jim will have the rest of the peach cobbler.

Sent all but one piece of the peach cobbler home with the kids last night.

Off to T&T I go in a bit, then home to hibernate.

    Enjoy this beautiful day.

    BE YOU

You were born to be real, not to be perfect. You are here to be you, not to live someone else's life.

Every day you make some progress and every day you make a few mistakes. Through it all, your wisdom continues to grow and your experience continues to broaden.

Be gentle with yourself. Accept who you are, where you have been, and what you have to work with, for in this moment you can make positive use of it all.

Reach in and touch the purpose that makes you feel most alive. The world around you is filled with places where that purpose can do great things.

It is never too late to offer your unique and genuine gifts to life. Now is the time to do great things, even in the smallest of ways.

Choose to fully and graciously live life as it comes. The richest rewards by far are the ones to which you most sincerely give of yourself.

I sure hope they get it fixed too! Seemed like a long night...lol

Right now its pretty comfortable, its humid tho...and you can feel the heat lurking.

We'll see what the day brings before I decide if I'm cooking or not...

oh, and we're having a cold front move thru, we'll just be 95ish...I had to laugh when the weatherman told that

Sorry, I spelled your name wrong.

I know, I crack up to when they talk about a big cold front coming and it's still very very hot and only brings the temperature down a few degrees.

Try to stay cool and be sure and drink lots and lots of water.

    Hi all,

Lunasee, I will be hoping for good news that your AC is fixed today.

We expect rain most all day, so that should cool it off a little. Can't complain, we really need the rain.

DH is hungry for tamales, so he is going by the truck to pick some up this evening, and I think I'll also go by Jack in the Box and pick up a taco salad to go with it. They are so big, we can share it.

Barb, I sent you a private message.

Hope everyone has a super great day.

    Mornin' all.

Guess we're lucky with our temps today - we're expecting mid 70's altho' it will be humid and probably there will be rain on & off all day with thunderstorms thrown in for good measure.

Lunasee - I wouldn't want to have the a/c broken with the weather you have either.

Supper will be pork tenderloin in an orange ginger sauce with home grown potatoes  and some green beans.

    Have a great day.

Dinner today will be left-overs of Hungarian Hot Dogs served over mashed potatoes.

Lunasee, I'm sorry to read about you having no a/c.  I hope they will be able to service it quickly today.

I'm in Fl. and  like Candykisses----can't help but laugh when they say a cool front will be passing through---instead of 95, it will be 94!

Makes me think of when I just got out of college, was living in Michigan, and went for a job interview in Houston, Tevas.  I could not believe the heat, it was something like 105-110 each day I was in town for that week.  I can remember the people at the front desk telling me to just wait, it cools down at night.  Well, I was up on the 9th floor of this Holiday Inn, nothing to look at but this bank sign that gave the date and temperature.  Never bothered to close the curtain at night----I'd just stare out at the bank sign and laugh to myself, yea, they call this cooling down---it never dropped below 89!

hot & humid here too!  but the sunrise this morning was so beautiful

  •  I'm on a roll with my crockpot this week since the boys have practice or sports camp every night.  So, tonight's menu spaghetti which I will cook when I get home, with meatballs in sauce that is simmering away in my crockpot.  I have a couple of fresh tomatoes left, so will add them to some salad.

co-worker brought in zucchini bread her mom made last night.  It's good, and she added grated carrots too.

ave been off for a couple of days,  Just a lot of running around.  Hot here, but cooler than the last few days  79 and humid.  No sun and our usual downpour expected.

We are off to the MFA today (Musem of Fine Arts).  There is an el Greco exhibit that is leaving this week and also what hopefully will prove to be a nice take==an exhibit of Art Deco Jewelry.  We usually lunch there so probably no big dinner tonite.

Tamara Lyn--Did pick up your message yesterday and will reply later today.  sounds like you have everything pretty much under control.  Also you sound like me when I plan our trps--always have to have "a plan" and reservations.

Its 8AM here on the West Coast, its 55 with mid 70s expected, wind is still from the West, keeping our temps down, but at least no rain.

CK, I made your peach cobbler, its great, DH said "you can make this any time" not only tasty, but so easy to make. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

We're having dinner at a friends house tonight, she said don't bring a thing, just your appetite.  I'm certainly appreciating every one of my friends, they've all been a God send to me in the last 5 days.My Nephews Memorial service is Saturday, I'm so concerned about my Sister, she's 73, in a Rest Home due to a stroke 2 years ago, this is her youngest of 6 sons, and the second one she has lost, one when he was 20, this one is only 33, so sad.

    Have a good day. Judy

     Judy,

I know this has to be such a hard time for you and your family.  So glad your friends are there for you as we are here.

Glad you and your DH liked the peach cobbler.

Prayers coming your ways and lots of hugs

Good morning!  No overcast today -- our temps will be picking up to upper 80s, maybe low 90s.

Tonight's dinner will be baked pork chops, macaroni and cheese, green beans and applesauce.  I've thawed a 5-lb. package of pork chops -- so I foresee several days of pork-somethings in our future.  (I'll see if my daughter wants some of them for her family, but she's not a big fan of pork, so I doubt it.)

    Have a wonderful Wednesday.

    Good morning to all.

Nice here today.  We have been having spectacular weather.   I know the heat is around the corner.  We get our hot weather in late Aug and all of Sep.

Well, tonight is my children's favorite, homemade pizza.  They love it.  Will add a nic, big garden salad.

    Enjoy your day.

    Hi,
100's for the next 7-10 days is possible.

I thought I would try something.  I've got all the doors closed except to the office.  Thinking that might help keep the main living area cooler.

    So thankful for our a/c.

Jim didn't get to come home for lunch.  But he said he had plenty of water.
