    Hi everybody!!

This is Shorty!! Mommy is tired tonight from taking care of Daddy.  He had his tooth pulled today and is fine but Mommy wants to stay close to him and wait on him hand and foot.  I was busy chatting with Miss Daisy who is comming to see me soon but Mommy wanted the computer to do this so I told her I would help and do it for her this time.

BTW for the new ones that don't know me.  I am Shorty.  Mommy tells me when she gets mad at me I am a dog but I don't believe her for a minute. LOL  Mommy says she will see ya'll tomorrow.

Shorty, Please tell Mommy it's okay to take care of Daddy and it's mighty sweet of her, and thank her for letting you start this post for her. That was very nice of you to offer. Hope Daddy feels better soon. Make sure Mommy is getting her rest, because we need her, too.

And Shorty, make sure you have a good visit with your friends.

In the meantime we wish Bob a good recovery from his dentist trip. It's always a shock to the system AND the pocketbook. Wink

Oh, Randi, I would've loved to see that ceiling to ground lightning display. I always think about how it displays the power and majesty of God.

Just waving from Central Alberta, Canada and wishing everyone a great day. A special hello to Margaret E. from across the pond who is patiently waiting for the rest of us to wake up. This is her daytime...while the rest of us are in our cozy beds...(well I will be soon).

Belated Happy Birthday and Anniversary greetings for those I missed these last few days. Hope you spent enjoyable days with loved ones around you.

I will be MIA for a few days...going to the city to help my DDs.  Will pop in again next week.  ***JP

A six-legged fawn is recovering at West Rome Animal Clinic in Rome, Ga. after sustaining minor injuries this weekend from two dogs in Everett Springs, Ga. Due to the injuries, one of its two tails had to be amputated. The fawn has two distinct pelvises and uses one leg from each pelvis to walk seen Monday, July 21, 2008.

    -----------------------------------------

Birds are singing and morning sunlight is spilling through the windows. Coffee is hot, delicious and the aroma of a baking cherry cobbler is beginning to permeate the air. Cats are watching me through the open window, end of their tails twitching, as they wait for breakfast. Jezebel, mare, is hanging her head over the fence, gazing at the back door as she, too, waits for me to put in an appearance.

As awesome as sky to ground lightning displays are--I do not care for them. They have caused to many fires in our neck of the woods this year.

Shorty, how sweet of you to fill in for your Mom. With a bit of "extra" tail waggin and a big "slurpy" kiss ya' might be able to entice her into making you your very own "siggy".

75° with 65% humidity and to reach a high of 94°.

Shorty, Fraidy is learning to use the computer too. He is not afraid of doggies and will soon join the chat!

How is every one this morning? It is beautiful here in N. AL. We have had some rain and things have perked up.

Do you remember last year when I nominated a friend for Woman of the Year and she won runner up? Well a gal from another fire dept saw the article....she knew her, and nominated her for Alabama Female Firefighter of the year. Last night the Chief call and told us she had won, but she doesn't know it. She thinks she is being sent to Tuscaloosa to the Convention to repsent our VFD. It is a two day affair, so Sat. night we are all going to sneak down there to the banquet to see her get her award. What fun!

Not much going on today but a lot of running. Finally gave up and am taking my mom's bamboo furniture in to be professionally stripped. Well, everyone have a great day.

Randi, How neat that your friend won the award and you'll all be sneaking over to watch her accept it.

It's a cool but sunny morning...should get to be a warm one. I'm doing a general tidy, laundry and vacuum throughout today, as this evening we make a dash into the city. Will be MIA till next week. Suitcase is half-packed.

The raspberries will have to wait until next week. No doubt, with the heat expected over the next few days, the bushes will be loaded by Monday.

    Have a great day! ***JP

    Good morning, grannies.

Yea! another nice day for us.

ZORA, be a good nurse for the nurse. But, it is tiring, so you rest, too.

MARGARET E, hope DH gets a good report.

Have a safe trip, JP, and enjoy the visit with DD's.

BEVERLY, saw the deer on TV last night. Never saw one like that, but we did have one with a broken leg in our yard. I'm stepping up to the table for the cherry cobbler.

RANDI, what a great honor for your friend. Love surprises and you all being there will add to the joy.

I have an aching one at my house, too. Russell either wrenched his knee or a little gout is acting up, but he cannot put weight on his left knee. So, he is rolling around on the small office chair. We will have to review what he ate the last couple of days that may have contributed to the problem.

Hugs and prayers for all CS.

    Nancy Z.

A quick howdy to you all.

We are staying home today and doing garden/yard work. I just got done making a a batch of Mulberry jelly! Ummmmm good.

Yesterday was fun. We headed up to Superior and Manitowoc area and spent some time on the beach of Lake Michigan. Beautiful day. Took in some shops and did a farm market. Funny to walk through on the "other side" of the table after doing that for years.

ZORA/SHORTY~~Cute opening. My best to Bob on healing.

NANCY Z~~Prayers being said for Russel.

    RANDI~~How is your DGS doing?

    JP~~Waving howdy to you.

BEVERLY~~Poor little fawn. Guess having extra legs doesn't help in running away from dogs. ???

MARGARET E~~Best wishes going out to your DH on his check up. Hopefully he will get an 'all-clear' one of these days that will lead to less appointments.

Hugs and prayers for each of you. Gotta run....DH is relentless! LOL

Leaving English muffins and raspberry and mulberry jelly on the platter.

    Tippy

EDIT: Obviously I don't know my own state...We were in Sheboygan where Lake Michigan actually is. LOL

    Re: 07/24/08 CS's Chat

     Good morning,

Shorty, hope your Daddy is feeling good, and your Mommy  got her rest. Lots of tail wags from Cody and Fenway to you.

Margaret E, thank you, there is no hurry, whenever you get around to it I will be appreciate it. I do have quite a few trifle recipes, I'm just kind of doing a 'regional study' from England, so to speak. Just found that different parts of England have as many variations of the same recipe as there are cooks. Hope you get hoped for results of you DH's scan.

JP, have fun in the city. Is it Edmonton you're going to?

Beverly, that poor deer is amazing. Your weather is way too hot for me. The last two days it got to almost 80 degrees and I was longing for winter. Of course in winter I'll be whining about the cold, but mid 70s without humidity is enough for me!

Randi, congratulations to your friend. It was nice of you to nominate her, and look what that led to. Great that you can go to see her receive her award.

Nancy Z, my sympaties for Russell. Wishing him a quick recovery, and some rest for you.

Tippy, so glad you had a lovely, relaxing and pleasant day. Mullberry jelly sounds so delightful even though I've never had it. Have fun in your garden.

We have a grey, rainy day and I'm taking this opportunity to sort out some old pictures. I found a box with tons of them and am having a hard time putting names to faces. For example, my dad had four sisters - I know when I see a picture that it's one or the other of his sisters, I just don't know which is which. It's such a shame and there's nobody I can ask. The four of them look similar. But I did find pictures of both my grandmothers, and one grandfather. Will have to dig deeper to find the other one. I'd like to do that so Elizabeth won't have to ask - who on earth are these people. :)

Have a wonderful day everyone and stay safe,

    Grace

Good afternoon from Indiana, it's 78 out there, so not too bad, supposed to rain tomorrow.

DH just left for a 2 hour drive to go pick up a field sprayer he is buying, the cost of chemicals has risen so much he's going to do it himself.

Going to the grocery this afternoon, just got the housework done.  Meeting DD #2 for a late lunch at Cracker Barrel, haven't seen her in a while, will be a nice visit.

Zora.........hope Bob is feeling ok, had those teeth pulled & it isn't any fun.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Good afternoon all, sorry I've been MIA, but just seem to have been everywhere but on here.  My sister came home from the hospital on Mon. but ended up back in the hospital yesterday.  More problems, she had another procedure this am.  No doubt this will put her chemo back a bit.  Do know that she'll have at least six months of it.  At this point I don't know when I'll be heading up there.  I'm leaving it in her hands, just told her to call me and I'll be on the way.

Yesterday I had to go in and stay with the twins for awhile since his caregiver had an appointment.  While there they told me that I'm going with them on their vacation in Nov.  Ever since we went on our cruise that's what they have wanted to do.  Since there is so little that he can do and this will be possible.  Same trip that we went on, but a different ship.  Should be fun.

So sorry that I missed anniverseries and birthdays, sure glad you had a great days.  Now I'm off to find the title to the 64 Chrysler so that we can sell it.  Who knows where Norm put it.  The kids bought it for us for our 30th and we only drove it a little bit. While we appreciated the thought, the idea of driving that huge boat scares the bejeebers out of me!  Years ago I thought nothing of it,but not now.  I'll take my minivan.  Take care all.  Pat

Just popping in to say Hi. The weather has been so nice the past 2 days that I spent most of yesterday working in the yard and today I was sitting on the front porch watching the Hummingbirds.

Randi that is nice that your friend won the award. She will be surprised when she sees everyone there.

Shorty make sure Mommy gets some rest too. Hope Daddy is feeling better.

It is almost time to feed the cats, so I better get everything lined up for them. LOL They deserve a good meal after catching a mouse the other night.

Hope everyone is having a good day. TTYL.

    Hi All

Shorty - you have really mastered the computer.  Barney says "HI" , but also says he's too old & tired to learn new technology!!!  But he's leaving you some of his favs - Milkbones - on the platter.

Zora - do hope Bob is feeling better.  Ain't men fun when they're a-hurtin' ?  You're sounding a bit "draggy" - take care.    Ran across this little poem quite by accident and thought you and Bob would enjoy it - written by a nurse

"I have nine patients, you are but one

I will walk five miles before I am done

Tiptoeing in and out of the rooms

Dark and quite like silent tombs

I try not to wake you for there is no time

When trying to divide eight hours by nine"

Hi Pat - been there, done that with the auto title.  My late DH also had his own "filing system".  I finally contacted the state capital and got a copy - might be quicker to do that.

    Have a safe trip JP
